    2nd fill question

Mine was like that. But, maybe I was just being more careful right afterwards. A couple of weeks later, I think I was just more comfortable with it and not paying as close attention.

    Newly Banded

You've just been through major surgery. It doesn't seem like it because you have such tiny incisions, but major nontheless. You are going to have all kinds of discomfort for a little while. You'll be OK.

The Band is not working for my daughter???

Back to your original post. I think she is doing well. Some people are tortises. So no, I don't think you should be concerned. Just be her loving mom. If she asks for help, work with her, but as the mom of an adult daughter, I know from experience, that she probably doesn't want any help from you. My DD has no problem with saying, "Mom, let it go. It's my problem. I will solve it." I understand that you love her, and as a mom, you would like to help. But, adult daughters are still adults. It's so hard to let go. Just love her and be there if she wants you.

    Calling All "Outies"

OOOOH! TELLY! What if all you have are scars and no hardware? That would mean your weight loss and nifty waist were all on your own!

Gone For Good Club - September 2006

So, I'm sitting here drinking diet snapple, bagel chips and some wonderfully delish cream spread. :faint: Now I know why my scales are fickle. They're not. I am. Somebody shoot me.
  6. It's summer and the barbeque is busy nearly every night. From my not so distant past, the only thing I can think of to BBQ is beef, pork, hot dogs. I can eat all of that stuff, but I have been gaining weight :faint: . I have plenty of restriction. It's not the quantity. It's what I've been putting in my mouth. Now, I have to admit that I've been eating some other bad things, too, but I'm working on that. What I need help with here are some tasty band-friendly BBQ ideas Got any?

    Band friendly barbeque ideas?

Last night, I BBQ'd chicken thighs. I soaked them in teriyaki sauce for about an hour, and it was wonderful! Why didn't I do that a long time ago? Nana - vinegar? Just plain vinegar, or one of those flavored ones? Sounds interesting. Keep the suggestions coming!
  8. You sound like you are just fine. :clap2: Sipping is what you should be doing. Gulping wouldn't be good right now. I listened to my stomach, too. Now is the time to heal. Good luck
  9. I know that many valued members of LBT have left. That's too bad and I'm sorry to see them go. I would encourage those of you that are *on the line* about staying or not to stay awhile longer to see if the recent banning calms things down and we return to normal. There are still some folks over in Rants and Raves that don't seem to want to let it die, but I'm hoping. I stopped posting elsewhere (for the most part anyway), and going to pretty much stick around here. You are my May brothers and sisters. :kiss2:

I love cheetos and ice cream, too. Do you put the cheetos on the top or underneath?

That's how I feel, too. I'm very sad.

Heathergurl, thank you for taking over. I'm very sad the way this previous mess has turned out. I hope that LBT will get straightened out. Sigh!

    Band friendly barbeque ideas?

Thanks for all of your delicious suggestions. I'm stopping at the store on the way home from work tonight. Let the BBQ'ing begin!:hungry:
  16. To Happy Gilmore" Do tell us about yourself. Have you been banded? When? Where? What are your weight stats? Are you just researching? Inquiring minds want to know. If you are legit, you will want to share with us. TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE GFG CLUB. If she is legit, welcome her warmly. If not, I implore you - ignore her. This thread is too precious to muck it up!
  17. Diva - see? You found your thinking cap!
  18. Apparently banning is ineffective since some come back with new identities. My feelings are that they should be left alone to fight it out. I personally don't mind the bashing posts as long as they are kept in the Rants and Raves forum. I can read them or ignore them. Sometimes they are a lot of fun! The participants apparently need a place to let it all out. They must enjoy it or they wouldn't participate. I have been here long enough to know that there is a lot of wonderful support here, and that the nonsense going around is just that ... nonsense. I feel for the newbies that stumble head on into one of those threads, especially when it is happening in a *support* forum.
  19. I think you need to take care of yourself. You need to eat - such as it is. You could run home for that. Or, if you don't want to go home, put some soup in a thermos and leave it in your car. You might have to do a lot of 'splainin' if you sat at the table not eating. If anyone asks later you can come up with something plausible. Forgot something I needed, etc. Probably no one will notice. Maybe you can join the dinner after the entree has been served and just ask for a drink instead. Got no appetite. Couldn't eat a thing. This is workable. As my mom used to say, "Just put on your thinking cap!"

Is There A Miracle Drink Anyone????

Aren't full liquids just that? Why not some blended thinned down soups? I started those right after clears. I think I blended protein rich soups and thinned with water/broth/milk. Don't worry too much about losing weight during this time. Let your stomach heal and keep your body healthy.
  22. 3loves! Way to go! That's awesome!
  23. My fill was a couple of weeks ago and it seems to be working fine Funny you mentioned fish. That is what I was eating - warmed up. I think the reheating made it get tough. Around 3:30 pm I couldn't take it any more. I have been stuck before, but this was real pain. I went home and took a nap. Woke up happy and hungry (and two lbs lighter - go figure). Tried Soup. Success! Ate 3 of Costco's breaded chicken nugget thingys. Good. Stopped. I feel so much better.

Diva How well do you know the host/hostess? Stash some jello/soup in their frige. How liquid are your liquids at this stage? Yogurt smoothies are pretty good. Put it and/or a protein drink in a coffee mug.

    Ethical Question

That's a hard question, Fitter. I think that if you are supporting something that you believe in and are feeling tapped out, charity-wise, you shouldn't feel pressured to support something else. I would talk with your HR people (or whomever is appropriate) about your desire to not participate. Ask them who will know? Will participants or non-participants be made public? (There should be some confidentiality there.) If either list is published, others are going to know who is NOT participating and that is not right. If the lists are going to be made public, you might want to contribute a nominal amount just to keep from being harrassed. As far as your time, that's even harder. I don't know what to say. If you don't participate in that, it's pretty obvious. You listed some pretty valid reasons. Especially about quitting your other job becuase you really need your time. Maybe do one thing and that would be enough.
