  1. I have the very same pain. I was banded on 10/29/08 and I'm still having the pain. My surgeon said it was the stitches pulling. They stitch the port down and in doing to much to soon I either pulled the stitches or tore them a little. He advised me to take it easy and perscribed mucle relaxers. It is getting a lot better but in the beginning it was very painful. My port is right at my waistline so when I bend the stitches pull. He assured me it was not an infection because I did not have a fever, swelling, drainage or redness.
  2. I am 4 weeks post op. A couple of days ago I started having a stabbing, almost a burning pain at my port site. It hurts most when I get up out of a chair, roll over in bed, bend over, or lift something. I'm also having pain across the middle of my back. I'm scared something is wrong. :grouphug: Happy Thanksgiving!
  3. I was banded on 10/29. I had the very same pain, only on the right side. It was very low and the pain came in waves like contractions. I sure it was gas because I am just now getting over the gas pains.
  4. I had my surgery on 10/29/08. I'm still having the gas pains. Not so much in my shoulder now but more in my belly. I've been taking gas X but that doesn't seem to do much. So, I have the same question. How long are these gas pains going to last?
  5. I was also banded on 10/29. I have had severe gas pains. I have not had any problems with burping though. I have not had any diarrhea, mine has been the opposite. I have been constipated. But like everyone says, it gets better each day. Hang in there
  6. I lost 12 lbs on 2 week preop diet. It was 3 reg slim fasts and 2 low carb slim fasts. 8 oz fruit juice. Plus 48 to 64 oz of sugar free liquids, surgar free jello and surgar free popsicles.
  7. My pre-op diet is Slim Fast. 3 regular and 2 low carb. 8 oz 100% fruit juice and 48 to 64 oz of surgar free liquids. All the SF jello and SF popsicles I want. I'm on day 6 of two weeks. My surgery is Oct 29th. It hasn't been that bad. I also drink a couple of K2O protein waters a day.
  8. Well, I made it thru the first weekend of liquid diet. It wasn't that bad. We even went to a restaurant, I just drank my slim fast and fed my grandson. I didn't even sneak a single bite of anything. I guess I'm stronger that I thought I was.
  9. My surgery is also scheduled for 10/29. I have been on the liquid diet since 10/16. It sucks but I know I have to do it. I think about food all day long and even dream about it! I know it will all be worth it when I don't have any delays in my surgery due to not being compliant. My surgeon said he can tell right off if you cheat. I want him to know how commited I am.
  10. I thought maybe it was caffeine withdrawl, so this morning I had regular coffee but it did not help. I'm thinking it is just by body getting use to the new diet. My body is probably not used to so many vitamins, minerals and protein.
  11. I am scheduled for Oct 29th. Started liquid diet on Wednesday 10/16. It is now day 3 and I have a headache that Tylenol hasn't touched. Is this normal? Any suggestions to relieve the headache?
  12. I to am on my 3rd day of liquid diet. My surgery is scheduled for 10/29. I have a very bad headache also. I didn't realize I would have a headache. I have taken Tylenol but it is not helping. Does anyone know if this is normal? Do I just keep trudging along and the headache will finally go away?
  13. Hey looks like we pretty much in the same boat. Surgery 1 day apart. Good luck!
  14. After months of fullfilling my insurance requirements and being one of the first patients in a new program, my surgery is finally scheduled. I saw my surgeon today. My surgery is scheduled for 10/29. I am so excited and not a bit nervous. I have been waiting for this for a long time. I ready to get a new start on the rest of my life.
