  1. Starting this thread so others can follow suit... to share just one moment of joyous success on their journey. Here's mine : Ran my first 5K run in over 20 years. I made it in 37:49. SO SHOCKED and most thrilled with myself. I used to run but got out of the mode with kids, etc.... :thumbup:YEAH !! for me. I am so ever pleased with myself.
  2. Had my Dr visit last week.... I didn't gain any weight but loss 4 pounds. Dr said he was proud of that success alone. That was encouraging. No fill needed... THANK GOD ! I am 5cc filled in a 10cc band. Does anyone have more than a 5 cc fill going on ????? Excited with my success and want to share with all. My weightloss is very slow but at least I am losing.
  3. Awesome weightloss...CONGRATS TO YOU !
  4. I, being an southern belle, am ready for ALL to see that we are all made from the same CREATOR and the new pres-elect is just like you and me. Not any better/worse, just another human trying to make his opinons/values known to America. I didn't vote for him, however I FULLY support him. I believe in AMERICA, and that means being loyal to our govt. and fellow citizens. I wish him well in his future position of the next president of the UNITED States of America. What a awesome thing that must be.... I don't know I would want that job. Just my little 2 cents worth on this thread!!!
  5. Dear Socialdot, If you are directing your ? to me....well I am doing wonderful. I am so very proud of myself to learning better eating habits and exercise routine. The weight has taken more time to leave...however I will take slow and learn the right things over taking fast results and gaining/dieting again. sure hope you are doing fine. Share you story, we all would enjoy hearing/reading.
  6. Ihooper... Hope all went well with your procedure. Have you lost weight slowly? Share your story. I am not familiar with you Dr. What other Dr's do you know in Lubbock that perform this surgery.
  7. Some things I won't miss : Being discriminated against... Odd looks from strangers... Being avoided from co-workers... It is amazing how I am being treated by others since I have lost 50 plus pounds. Such a shame..... people are soooo clueless at times.
  8. Did you have the procedure performed ? What Dr. did you decide to go with ?
  9. i am training for my first 5k run this December. Good luck to you !
  10. What I remember, the first few days were difficult but I had to just remember I will heal and life as a bander is going to be a journey to learn what will work for me. I suggest you tell your Dr. that you are hungry and seek his advice.
  11. Howdy to ALL, I was banded on 2/11/08. I have lost 45 poundsd to date. I have had 3 fills to date. I will see my Dr next week and I fell I need yet another fill. I never felt hunger until my bad was filled with 4 cc's and NOW I am starving all the time. I did increase my excercise so this might warrant the increase for more food. I can eat about anything however I fell discomfort with liquids, water included. How strange is this ?? I hope everyone here is doing well and getting more comfortable with their band.
  12. :thumbup:Stay encouraged !!! You will go through many stages in the beginning, however it will become second nature to you in time. Remember you didn't put the weight on over night, so the weight loss will take time to come off. You stick to the small meals and eat slowly and CHEW CHEW CHEW...you will be successful in your journey.
  13. I would think that if the plasters are still on after 8 weeks post-op, then call your Dr, and seek their advice. My plasters came off with in 2 weeks post op. So call.....
  14. I have experienced eating of bread and some days I can handle 2/3 bites no problem. Then there are days I will take a bite and I get sick just putting the bread to my lips. So listen to your body. Take in your meals slowly. Enjoy the flavor of your food. Stay encouraged...
  15. had same problem and pineapple juice rescued me as well....so glad we have these websites to inform us in our time of need. Keep up the good work. Happy me !
  16. had my 4th fill last week, Monday. i felt tight and my dr instructs his patients(after fills) to stay on liquid for 3 days (min)...follow the steps of stage 2, 3 and 4 (real food) gradually. Look like you are progressing well. I have been banded since Feb 08 and have lost 45lbs so you are doing better than me on the this train ride. Keep up the good job ! Happy me !
