Hi Long2bThin, Thank you so much and God bless you with all kinds of blessings and surprises that only Him can give. Today is Sunday and I usually go to church but for some reasons, I knew I had to stay home. My husband is gone to church and my daughter is at her friend's place. God gave me a time of rest because I was pretty tired. Being a teacher takes a lot of my time. It's not a job from 8 to 5, I see myself working a lot of time until 10:00 or 10:30 at nights. Staying home gave me also a time alone with God and I crave for those moments with Him. I know in my heart that he's the only one who can change my thinking and He'll be there to get me through all difficulties. He also gives people like you who went through the surgery and can help others by listening and answer questions we might have. Thank you so much. clempier N.B. Canada

Hi Long2bThin, Thank you for your respond. You seems to know pretty well the battle of the mind. How do you manage that battle of the mind? What do you say to yourself or what do you do? How do you cope with all those emotions that you use to calm with food? Right now, that's my biggest fear not the surgery itself. I have no problem with the chewing because even now they told me I eat slow and it take me long to have my lunch at school. (I'm a teacher). Hope to hear from you soon. clempier N.B., Canada

Hi Momma Klunker, I know the feelings, I'm waiting right now for the date of surgery. I'll sure pray for you because I know how much it can mean to you to have that surgery. For me, it's like a dream come true but still waiting for the final result. God bless you. clempier N.B., Canada

Dear Phyl, I really can feel you're a women of wisdom. How did you get over that battle in you head? Because I've been struggling with that for years. I pray our Lord to set me free from those thoughts. clempier, NB Canada

Hi morph521, I'm so glad to hear from you and how you feel so soon after surgery. Thanks to our Lord, he takes care of his children. I didn't know how long it would take before the first fill. I really pray God to help me to do the right things. Like trying to eat less and my worst time is after supper until I go to bed. Are you struggling with that? Hope to hear from you soon. clempier, NB Canada

Hi to all of you, Everytime I go on line, first thing I do is to check if I got anything from Christian bandsters. It's a real blessing for me and I always look forward to get anything from you. I go to a small church in a small city in N.-B., Canada. I watch on TV things from US and I see big churches and a lot of Christian people praying our Lord and Saviour. I also know that you're going to go for election pretty soon. I pray that you all pray for God wisdom on which one you're going to put you X. I'm conviced that this election is completely different from the other ones. God is coming soon!! No matter where you live or where you come from, we're all the same when it comes to surgery like the lapband is. Right now, I'm waiting for my date. Dr. Savoie told me that as soon as he could get an op. room available, I would be in. I was wondering if someone whould share with me what was you reactions before you got your lapband? Right now, I'm trying to cut down on food because I know I often eat even if I'm not hungry (mostly in the evening). I pray God to deliver me from that before the surgery because I don't want to fail this time. God has to change things between my 2 ears. Please tell me if you're successful in this matter!!! clempier:sad:

Hi to all, Yes, God is awesome. This is my story. I live in New-Brunswick, Canada and just 4 months ago, the government was not paying for the lap band surgery put the other gastric bypass were. I had to pay 1,600.00 and the government would of paid the same amount. Plus I would of had to go to Moncton in orther to have the surgery and Moncton is 2:30 from here. So it would of mean miss my work (hard to do, I'm a ressource teacher), I didn't have the money first of all for the surgery and even to pay the gaz to go. I went to my regular appointment at the diabetes clinic and guess what? A new Dr. was coming to Bathurst which is 10 minutes from my place and the government decided to pay entirely for the surgery. I went to see Dr. Savoie the new surgeon and he gave me his OK. He said I would be the perfect candidate for the lap band surgery. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I can really see God's hand on that. clempier New-Brunswick Canada

Hi oreokitty, Reading your message, you were saying that you are a diabetic. I am too. I got the OK for the surgery so I'm waiting for the date. I'm pretty excited about it and also nervous. I hope everything is going to be fine. He said that as soon as he can book a op. room I'll have to take SlimFast for 2 weeks. I was wondering if you were still taking any diabetic meds. I'm type 2 and I take indulin 4 times a day plus 4 metformin pills, plus med. for high blood pressure because of diabetes, one aspirin a day for my heart and xenical to help me lose weight. Hopefully I'll be off all those meds. It took me a while to be at peace with my decision to have that surgery. I was seeking what our Lord's wanted for me and I didn't want to do something He didn't want me to do. He really did open all the door so I could see that He was giving me his blessing. A couple of months ago, I would have to pay half of the surgery and they the government decided to pay it all. Then I woulld of have to travel 2h30 everytime to see the surgeon and to have the surgery done there. Now. we have a new surgeon who does those surgery 10 minutes from my place and instead of being on a 2 years waiting list, I'll have the surgery probably in November or December of this year. Thank you Lord!!! clempier, New-Brunswick Canada

Dear Phyllser, I want to thank you for the support you give to the ones who are like me a bit afraid of what it's going to be after the surgery. I pray that God will give me the strengh to do the right thing like eating just 3 times a day because the worst time for me right now is in the evening. I know I eat my emotions and I pray God that he will deliver me from that and that I'm going to be free, no craving in the evening. I know I eat even if I'm not hungry and that's what scare me the most, I don't want to mess it up. clempier, New-Brunswick Canada

Hi Ellenjacq, I heard positive comments about Dr. Beausoleil and his staff. I hope everythings is going to be fine with your surgery. I know I'll have to be on a SlimFast diet 2 weeks before surgery, stay for one night at the hospital and I'll be back home. Clempier

Hi Madamesuzanne, What a small world. I'm a teacher at Carrefour Étudiant in Beresford so as you can imagine, I'm French too. I was adopted in a french family from Paquetville but my birthmother lives in St-John, NB. I graduated from Caraquet in 1977. I moved to Beresford in 2000. Dr. Savoie told me that as soon as he can get a op. room I'll have to be on SlimFast for 2 weeks and then the surgery. I''m going to stay the night and then come back home the next day. I don't know if Dr. Savoie would do your filling, ask, you have nothing to loose. I'm on the list for Dr. Beausoleil too but it's a 2 years waiting list. I'm glad we have Dr. Savoie here, I won't have to travel for the fillings and all. Got to go. Hope to talk to you again. clempier

Thank you, Numbregirl It worked after trying different things. That's our Thanksgiving weekend in Canada. We were invited to my sister in law's place for supper. I did pretty well, I didn't eat to much. While I was there I was thinking, "It's going to be my last Thanksgiving the way I am now and next year, it's going to be a new me". I can't hardly believe it. It's like talking about a dream. clempier, New-Brunswick Canada

madamesuzanne, Hi, I'm from Beresford, NB and I just wanted to let you know that there is a new surgeon in Bathurst who does lap band surgeries now. His name is Dr. Marc Savoie. I'm diabetic and my specialist, Dr. Khan send me to Dr. Marc Savoie. Now in New-Brunswick they pay for the surgery if it's medical reasons. I'm suppose to have the surgery probably in November. Dr. Khan think highly of Dr. Savoie. Good Luck clempier, NB, Canada

Dear bandsters, I want to thank God because He really did opened all the doors for that surgery. Four months ago, here in New-Brunswick, if you wanted a lap band surgery you had to pay 1,500.00 and the governement would of pay the other 1,500.00. That was the case when I started to look into the procedure but than I went to the diabetic clinic one day and the nurse told me that they just gave their OK to pay all the procedure. My first reaction was to say out loud " Thank you Lord, you answered my prayers" and then I looked at the nurse who was looking at me in a weird way. Then we got a new surgeon here and his speciality is the lap band surgery and the sleeve one too. The closes place to have that surgery before was in Moncton who's 2h30 from my place and it would of mean going back and forth for the check ups. Then, I met the surgeon and he told me I was a perfect candidate for the lap band surgery. He said as soon as he can have an opening for a surgery room, I'll have to go on a liquid diet for 2 weeks before then the surgery. He said I would probably have the surgery sometime in November or December. Praise our Lord and Savior. I'm sure everything is going to be fine. I just hope my skin will tight itself and I won't have to have plastic surgery but then if so, God will provide for the money because I heard it may cost up to 30,000.00 which I really don't have. Our Lord is an awsome God. clempier New-Brunswick, Canada

Dear Numbrgirl, I pray that one day I'll be the one to say" I'm proud of myself because I accomplish that exercice". I'm hoping one day I'll be able to like doing exercices. I'm so happy for you. I was wondering where to get the little band you know your little frog that shows how much you lost? clempier, New-Brunswick, Canada

Hi to all, I saw the surgeon for the first time today. He gave me his OK for the surgery. He said I was a perfect candidate for the surgery. He told me that because I'm diabetic, I'd either be without any meds after or very little. It depends how my body will respond after the surgery. I'M SO HAPPY!! I really prayed God a lot about that and at the end I said, "Well if it's God's will, he'll open all the doors" and that's what he did. It can be for next month . . . WOW!! clempier, New-Brunswick Canada

Hi Kira, Well, I'm going to be 50 in April and as you say the skin is not as elastic as it was before. Did it take you long before you didn't have to take your insulin and metformine? Thinking of that it's like a dream that can come true. I pray God that he's going to deliver me from the craving in my head. You know, when you're watching TV, it's 21h00 and the only thing you have in your mind is a chocolat bar and some chips. It's like a battle in my head and I pray our Lord to deliver me from that bondage. I hope I'll be able to go back to work after a week. I was reading in the newspaper that a woman needed a plastic surgery after a gastric bypass and she needed 20,000.00$ in order to do all the plastic surgeries she needed. If so, I better start put money aside. I need to loose 115 pounds in order to be the right weight for my height, I'm 5'1". Thank you for responding to me and answering all my questions. God bless you dear sister. clempier New-Brunswick, Canada -

Talorwoman1, Thank you so much for your reply. I'm so happy to be able to talk to christians that are going through what I'm going through and on top of that like me some are diabetic or they were. Wow!! you already lost a lot. I hope the surgeon is going to say yes for the surgery. I had an abdominoplasty a couple of years ago and I have a big T but reverse from my breast down and from one hip to the other. I hope it won't bother for that surgery. Well, God is in control, He knows my heart and why I want to do this. I want to be able to serve him even more and being free from all that fat, I'll be able to do things I can't right now. clempier New-Brunswick, Canada -

Linda, Thank you for your responding. I hope I'll be off my meds too. It's a blessing to me to be able to chat with christians who are going through the same things I'm going through because I don't live in a big city where I can find christians. Thank you Lord clempier New-Brunswick, Canada -

Hi Kari, You have no idea how happy I was to hear all that from you. It gives me hope because at one point I thought I'd be stuck with insulin and metformin plus high blood pressure pill, aspirine for the heart, xenical to loose weight. How is your life with food now? That's what I'm wondering, am I going to crave for food? Did you have to consider plastic surgery or your skin is where it suppose to be? I have so many questions. If you don't feel at ease to answer my questions it's all right I sure don't want you to feel incomfortable. Praise our Lord and Saviour, He answers prayers. clempier, New-Brunswick Canada -
Hi Roseyyyd1, I was so excited to get messages from christians who are going to have the surgery or already did. I've been diabetic since 92 and I use 2 kinds of insulin plus metformin pills twice a day. I'm so relief to hear that I'm not the only one seeking God's will for that surgery. I was wondering if you were asking yourself questions about how it's going to be after the surgery and how you're going to react surrounding all the food you use to eat? I'm a overeater . . . I eat my emotions and I'm praying God that He will deliver me from that. clempier, New-Brunswick, Canada
