  1. I had to lay on the floor at work Friday....I had 2 bites of a broccoli salad. And 2 bites of chicken salad. I'm just assuming it was the broccoli. But I got crazy nauseous and I knew if I could just lay on my side for a few minutes it would pass. So I tried my left side first. 5 mins passed, still sick. So I tried the right side. Within seconds the nausea was gone. But boy it sire didn't help my hips laying on a cement floor! (There's thin carpet over it but still....) I just didn't want to go home when I k we just a few minutes of lying down would help. :-)

  2. Now that I think about it, I have not had Soup much until today.....okay I fee a little better. I am still able to eat about 4oz of ground chicken and I am not sure if that is normal or "a large portion"

I also just realized why I am so "snacky" in the afternoon......it's because I walk after lunch 1.5-2 miles. Should I fight the hunger or feed my self half a Protein bar or something?? Hmmm

I can eat about 2oz of chicken breast, but it's not ground. Just cooked moist and cut into little pieces. That's my "go to" meal. Chicken breast, veggies, and a cube of baked potato. :-)

If you're feeling "hungry" after your walk, I'd eat something. If you do you're still losing, you're good. If you think it's just a boredom kind of hunger, maybe try and fight it, but I'm guessing you might need it.

  3. I actually get to go to the hospital's support group meeting tonight! It's been a couple months in a row that I haven't been able to go. Tonight's topic: Self Image! How perfect!! I'll report in later tonight or in the morning if I learn how to love myself, LOL!! :P

OMG, I Just realized I have not peed once since I've been to work today!? I've even drank 40oz of Water, but I do need to go now, so off I go!! ;)

  4. @Bronxmerci---I 100% agree with what Beni wrote. You have to get your nutrients in, and if soft foods is what you can handle right now, eat those. I also had to go back to blended foods for a while, because everything made me nauseous. I lived on cottage cheese for at least 2 weeks I think! :P But it's what worked. Hang in there girl, we're all thinking of you!!

@Beni--Thanks so much friend! I am happy the weight is coming off, but I really need some muscle! And I feel like a SLOTH now! Not in the "heavy" sense, but just slow moving--really wishing we had a bathroom on the main level at home, LOL!! I LOVE your imagery examples!!

I'm so bummed my yoga class was eliminated at the gym! BUT....I can't "really" use that as an excuse not to do some yogy--because I have a yoga mat and the internet at home, SO......I could be doing it there. It's just finding that 1/2 hour to take for myself. You understand, I'm sure. ;)

You are SO close to onederland!!! :D Seemed like it took me weeks to get from 200, then it seems like I've just breezed by getting down to 190. (actually yesterday it was 190.8, this morning 190--But I always leave off the .whatever...LOL)

I still haven't tried on a pair of boots, because I've NEVER been able to wear them. And to me, my calves are still HUGE. So I don't want to disappoint myself.

But I really need some new shoes now--mine are all loose now! :P

I think I'd really enjoy your dream vacation spot too!! Wouldn't that be nice, for a while! Yes, a girl SHOULD dream, for sure!!

Did I tell you all we have a trip to Hawaii booked for June!? I CANNOT wait!! But I'd REALLY like to tone up my legs and arms by then so I can wear some shorts and shirts without having flappy skin, LOL! :P

Guess I'd better go get some work done, looks like it's going to be a Monday from hell.

  5. Hey friends!

Not a whole lot to report here. Same old stuff. :P

scale still creeping down, need to go update my ticker. Down to 190. So down 59! Yay!

I am jealous of the energy a lot of you are saying you have. I still don't have any. :(

I made an appointment with my family Dr. for my annual physical, and I'm sure she'll run some labs for me.

I really really want to be working out!! My muscle is gone. Not that I had a lot, but I'm so weak from muscle loss. Baby steps I guess!

One of my favorite "non scale victories" is that I can hug my honey and my kids and not have my belly/boobs stop me from hugging super close!!! :P

  6. Ok I need opinions. I'm having a breakdown lately. Everything I eat makes me feel wonky so I don't want to chew. I'm literally disgusted by food. Maybe getting 100 cals a day. Logically I know what I need to do but when I force myself I throw up. Ugh. Can I request admittance? I am losing so much hair and having insane headaches I know I'm malnourished - why can't I get out of this fu. nk

Have you contacted your Dr? I have no desire to eat typically, there's no joy in eating anymore. So I eat to survive basically. But you need to be eating more than 100 calories a day hon! By "wonky" what do you mean? Nauseous? What are some things you've tried to eat? For a while, it seemed all I could eat was cottage cheese. So that's what I ate. I'd for sure see what your Dr. says. Something isn't right! :(

  7. I'm here, I'm here!! :P Just haven't been on the computer much this weekend. Guess it's Monday now, but I was off work today, so still feels like my weekend.

I'm so bummed, our Walmart does NOT carry those premier shakes. I still have some chocolate mix that I like, so I'll just use that up. If I add a banana and a bit of Peanut Butter it'll be yummy I think.

Eating has been going really well. scale says I'm down a couple more pounds, but not logging it until it's consistently the same number for a couple days. ;)

Still not getting enough Water, but I'm working on it the best I can.

Nothing else much new....I'm ready for

  8. OMG I have been drinking 2 a day for 9 months (I started 6 months before) I started making them in to a hot mocha!! It's to die for!!

My Dr. Wants me to of course get my Protein from food but she did say if I'm still low to go ahead and have a shake. But I might try one for Breakfast for a while and see if that helps with my energy.

Do you make your Protein Shake with Water or milk? I thought I'd try a shake a few days ago to get my Protein count up and I mistakingly used milk. My gut bloated up horribly and I was totally uncomfortable all day. Couldn't eat normally the whole day. It's like the shake just sat in my pouch all day long and nothing else would fit. I'm just assuming it was the milk.

Love your meal plans each day. :-)

  12. Wow you are amazing. I can't believe you did clears for long!! I would have lost it totally. I had such bad head hunger after surgery I actually chewed up food and spit it out a couple times without swallowing any and that really helped. On clears? I would have cried and cried!!!

I am so impressed you are a rock star.

Aww, thanks. I had 2 weeks of clear liquids BEFORE surgery as well. It was Harder before surgery. After surgery I had no appetite. In fact I am 3 months out and I still am NEVER hungry. In fact I have to force myself to eat. So weird compared to before. Guess I Still have a struggle with food, just a different kind of struggle now. :-)

  13. I did not have a good food day today. Didn't eat anything out of the ordinary. So I'm not sure what's up. But I had what I figure, is the hernia area pain this morning when I got up. Then every time I'd eat it felt like I had just drank a gallon of Water. And that was after just a few bites.

    B-- scrambled egg with salsa

    S- cheese cubes, wheat crackers

    L- 3 bites of a spinach wrap with turkey/cheese

D- taco salad with no lettuce

Nothing I haven't had before and hasn't made me sick before.

I don't know what's up but it's really annoying me.

  14. To whoever it was WHO SAID: IF YOU HAVE "POUCH PAIN" lie on your left side.... you saved me last night. I woke up with horrible pain. Something must have become stuck. Within minutes of lying on my left side - which points the opening of the pouch downhill!!! - I was without pain and able to go back to sleep. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. :)

I mentioned it but Beni had told me about it. I think she said right side though? But heck, whichever side worked---I'd stick with that!

  15. I don't do so well with salad. It makes me so incredibly sad cuz I woukd eat a salad with chicken or turkey or tuna in it everyday. I didn't get "sick" when I ate it but my abdomen bloated up and I literally looked 9 months pregnant. But I'll try again just to verify it was the salad. Lol. I can eat bread alright though! It just needs to be toasted. I can only eat 1 piece, sometimes just half a piece.

Beni- I had my gallbladder out back in 2009. A year after I'd had the lapband. I did call and leave a message with the nurse. She called and left me a message saying it shouldn't be a concern. But of course I googled it and I don't know...seemed concerning. When my PA calls with lab results I'll mention it to her as well.

Bummer you didn't get to go today Beni!!

  16. they're going to have me come in for blood test to check my liver function.

So I just read your post that you said about your stool.....Mine is also really light beige!? I just figured it was the change in diet, but maybe not? I wonder if I should mention it to my PA.

  17. So I had my 3 month check up yesterday. First thing the nurse says is, "Your pants are too big girl!" I know!! But I'm kind of between sizes and even though I did buy a new, smaller pair of black dress pants---I hate them! Totally wrong fit! So I've been wearing my "big" ones.

Anyway---I have lost a total of 55 pounds. They do this percentage thing, but honestly, it's never made sense to me, LOL! She said something about how I've lost 56% of "something.." If it's percentage of body weight that they figuring, they're figuring it wrong I believe! I'll have to ask next time exactly what they're figuring, LOL.

I still have not seen my actual surgeon since BEFORE my surgery! (when he suggested I think about doing the sleeve instead of the bypass) I thought I'd at least see him the morning of surgery, but nope, never saw him.. He talked to Brett after the surgery, but if he did talk to me, I certainly don't remember it!

And now I see the PA when I go for my visits. But I did see him in the hallway yesterday. He looked at me, took a double look and said, "Hey! How are you doing?" Surprised he even recognized me! :P (not because I've lost, just because I've barely seen him!)

So anyway--my PA said I'm doing great-BUT......feels I'm either somewhat dehydrated or anemic or something! I shouldn't be exhausted walking up the stairs at home. I should be able to be working out more, etc. So she ran labs and urine. I should hear from her today, I hope. ^_^

She still wants me to increase my Water and Protein. I kind of got pissy and said, "Seriously, I cannot fit anymore food in my body during a day!" And when I can't drink half hour before a meal, and an hour after a meal, but eat 4 meals a day....well, geesh! That's hard to fit in more Water yet! She said, "If you were the only one telling me this is hard to do, I'd say it's all your fault, LOL, but you're not. I know it's a struggle, but just be mindful of it every day."

    Yep, got it. ;)

I told her I was a bit annoyed that I still have a hiatal hernia. I thought it would have been repaired when he was in there. She said it was repaired, but sometimes still slips again. OIY. She had talked to the surgeon about it and he told her if I continue to have issues with it, then we'll talk about options.

So far, using my oils (topically) has really calmed it down. (meaning, calmed the reflux down) I told her taking omeprozol and Pepcid was not helping one bit and that I'm using my oils. She was confused....thought I was drinking them. I told her no, I apply them topically to where my esophagus is and where the hernia is. I can now wake up and either have NO reflux or just a tiny bit. She said, "Well, if that's working, keep doing it!" :)

I asked what they recommended my weight goal be. They had in my chart 165. So right around 160-165 is where I'll aim for, for now. That's only like 30 pounds away!!! Seems totally un-real!! :o

Now I need to be tightening this body up! I cannot believe how much muscle I've lost.

Let's see, what else did she say. I thought there was something else I was going to tell you all. Hmmm, I can't remember, LOL.

Oh well, If I remember, I'll be back!

  18. Just discovered another milestone. My BMI is 34.9 which means I couldn't qualify for surgery through insurance because I am too thin. With my insurance I would have to be BMI of 35 with co-morbs. I know it's only by 0.1 but when we miss getting in an car accident by 0.1 we Celebrate, right? I'm feeling pretty awesome right now. That's not a feeling that I usually have (I feel awesome about others not me) which makes this all more wonderful. Okay, I'm gonna cry. Heck, I'm crying already.

Great job Beni!!!!! So dang proud of you!!! You made me cry too!! :P

I do a lot of shopping at Maurices. :-) So does my 21 year old daughter, so it's fun to shop together!

I had my 3 month appointment yesterday, I'll be back to report what she told me in a bit. ;)
