  3. Thanks Jaime!!:hurray: Guess you can't see me very well in that picture. I'll have to wait til I'm at work where I have a little bit closer up picture, LOL.
  4. Thanks for the info Pam!! That's really good to know. :hurray:
  5. Jaime- Thanks---I must have clicked on it as she was updating. I see it now.:hurray: Hey, do you know how you made your picture show on here? I can get it to show up in my actual profile, just not on here where I post. Not that it really matters....I'm just trying to get the hand of everything.
  6. I have heard of people mixing the protein powder in coffee, I think it's fine to do that. Do you use vanilla flavor? I need to try that. I've been drinking my coffee black since I started on liquids and would love some flavor in it again. And how much do you put in a cup of coffee? I've been drinking the chocolate shakes, they're not bad.
  7. For the newbie. PB means "productive burp" I believe...correct me if I'm wrong.:hurray:
  8. I can still drink my protein shakes if I'm low on protein, but I've been able to get in all my protein with my food mosts days. I usually have 2 scrambled eggs with a slice of cheese melted on them for breakfast. That keeps me totally full until about 12:30-1:00. Then I usually have cottage cheese and soup for lunch. Sometimes a yogurt later in the afternoon. I have fish alot for supper with a veggie. I also drink the K2O water. Or I buy the little K2O packets you can just add to water. Oh, and I try and drink 2 glasses of skim milk a day too. It's hard to eat/drink as much as we need to some days!! Weird feeling!:hurray: I did try bread and rice before my first fill---it went down fine, but I haven't tried any since my fill.
  9. I felt the same way you did. I felt restriction after surgery, but then once swelling went down, i didn't feel it. I was freaking out a bit! But I knew this is a 50/50 team work type thing. The band is there to help, but we have to do the work too. So I tried hard to stay strong and limit my portions. Not to say I never strayed because I did. I ate a few cake balls and was shocked that it didn't make me sick! I wanted it to make me sick!:hurray: I was still losing weight though, and keeping track of calories and protein, etc. I went for a check up at 5 wks and told my surgeon I wasn't feeling restriction and he said that was a sign I needed a fill. However, he is strict about waiting 6 full weeks until the first fill because he wants the band scarred in there really well. So on week 6, he was on vacation and I wanted to wait until he got back rather than have the other Dr in the office do it. So on Christmas Eve I got my first fill-----and there's definately restriction now! So hang in there!! Try and be strong, knowing soon you'll feel that restriction again. You can do it!
  10. Hmmm, why can't I make my profile picture show????
  11. Teri- Are you doing the spreadsheet updates? It looks like mine is still at 235, but I'm at 229 now. Unless I'm looking at the wrong one?

  13. I seem to only have that problem if I don't actually pay attention and literally count my chews, LOL! It's so easy to just chew a few times and let it go down--but I have to make myself chew, chew, chew.....It's definately a new way of eating, isn't it?!:hurray:
  14. Hey Heather- So you had a fill on 12/18, and you're ready for another fill? I just had my first fill on the 24th...so far it's good. I think he put 2CC's in mine. I'm hoping it lasts a while, we'll see!:hurray:
  15. Heather- I have some port pain also when I work out. My surgeon told me it's because that muscle around the port is still healing and when you tighten up your abs at all, it's going to be sore. But he didn't say not to exercise or anything. It goes away pretty quick. I'm not restricted on any exercise at this point. I'll be starting weights the first week in January. My gym is working up a workout program for me and I meet with her on the 2nd. So excited!! I've just been doing the treadmill for 30 mins and the elliptical for 15-20mins up to this point. I also have some port pain when I eat too much? What's up with that I wonder?
  16. I have a really hard time not drinking with my meal too!! That's been the hardest thing for me....but I agree, you stay fuller longer if you don't drink. So what does everyone typically eat during a normal day? I've been eating 2 eggs (scrambled) with cheese over it. That keeps me totally full and satisfied until 12:30-1:00. Lunch varies: Soup and cottage cheese most of the time. (soup flavors vary, some homeade, some canned) Or if I have leftovers from supper the night before, I'll bring that along with some veggies. Supper has been different fishes (tuna, talapia or cod) with a veggie usually. Tonight I had spaghetti. (ate maybe 1 Cup and I'm totally stuffed) Sometimes I'll have a popsicle before bed too....

    Notorious November NSV!

My clothes are probably my biggest NSV. The only problem is that I'm about out of things that fit me!! I have baggy butt problems with most of my pants, LOL. I'm not complaining though! I went and checked out a second hand store to try and find some pants. I got a few pairs that'll fit hopefully soon---but they didn't really have anything that'll work for right now. I really don't want to go buy a bunch of new stuff though...since I'm still losing. My 11yr old son got his arms all the way around me!!! I love that my kids are proud of me. Great job janesays! I bet that felt great!! I had bought a shirt off the clearance rack that I never dreamed would fit...and it does now!! Such a great feeling!
  18. I've lost 31 pounds since my surgery on Nov 6th. Feeling great! I just had my first fill on Christmas Eve. I'm not positive how much he filled it though? I think I heard him say 2CC's, but I could be wrong? He was struggling a bit when he was filling it. Like it kept stopping or getting blocked at a certain point, but ended up fine. He's such an awesome guy--gave me a big hug after we were done, told me how good I was doing. I'm getting to the gym about 4-5 times a week. I'd really like to increase my activity though. I have a training session with a lady at the gym on Jan 2nd. She's going to put together a work out program for me. So I'm excited about that. I'd of course like to be losing quicker than I am---but I think I'm doing ok.
  19. Hey everyone! I wish I could be on this site more often to keep track of everyone!! I was banded on Nov 6th, I'm down 31 pounds today. The holiday treats have been hard for me too!! But I haven't eaten anything compared to other years! I just had my first fill on Christmas Eve! I'm so glad I did---it gave me that nice restricted feeling so I avoided overeating for our Christmas meals. I was getting really scared before my fill though because I was able to eat cake balls and a couple other desserts with no side effects. I was just thinking--oh crap, I want to physically feel the bad feelings from eating this! Today I feel it for sure! I ate a chocolate dipped pretzel stick and boy, that didn't feel good! I have a little time here, so I'm going to go try and read some posts to try and get familiar with everyone! WE CAN DO THIS EVERYONE!! Oh--by the way--anyone from Iowa? I'm just wondering if anyone had the same surgeon as I did. I absolutely LOVE him!!!
  20. Can you please update my stats? I'm at 229 as of this morning! Yeah!! Slow, but pretty steady. Thanks!
  21. Posting my updated weight for the spreadsheet. 232.5 Thanks!!
