  2. I know I'm a bit fearful because I have not ventured into any unhealthy things so far. I have stuck strictly to low sugar foods. I like the spoon of this and that.... taste it, but don't have much. Do you worry adlbout calorie counting on holidays? Or send impossible since I'm not making everything.

  4. I'm 3 months post RNY bypass. I'm tolerating all foods, doing great! My question is how do I do Thanksgiving? Am I allowed to indulge a bit? Am I allowed to not stretch my pouch, but eat and not worry about the calories for the day? What's the rule here? My thought was to graze a little, eat portions appropriate for my pouch size, but not to euro about the calories for the day, then send all the unhealthy stuff home with company so it's gone. I'll keep the turkey. Is this okay? Can I have a small piece of pie? I think if I talk it out here, I'll have a better plan of attack.

  6. It's so hard not to panic; I know it's normal and fine as my dietician said it would happen, but I'm stalled. I'm 10.5 weeks post RNY bypass. It feels like de ja vu when it comes to all my previous weight loss attempts because this is always about how long my body responded with weight loss and then would just completely stop before... I know that's not happening but it sure wants to mentally put me back in the mode of defeat. How long can I expect this to stick around? What do you do to keep a positive outlook through it? I'm down 50 pounds, 37 since surgery, so I can't complain; so far I think that's good. Although I don't know as nobody seems to ever say, wow, or good job. Up until the stall I felt amazing about my progress and thought this had been pretty easy and smooth sailing. Now, I want to lay down and cry. I know ya'll have been there, what can I tell myself so I don't talk myself out of the positive mindset? I'm my own worst enemy--as many of us are. Any advice getting through this first stall? Also, can you tell me why the folks that work in these programs (some) don't seem to want to congratulate you are give you kudos in any way. My new dietician (the previous is on maternity) is a terrible cheerleader. It's so transactional. What do you weigh (I'm virtual for some of the visits because I'm 3 hours away), what do you eat, any questions....ok, bye. I think that's kinda something too that's bugging me about the stall. I have an appointment coming up and I think this Mrs. DON'T CARE, is going to somehow say, I'm doing bad because of the stall. I don't know..... talk done sense into me, please!!!! On a happy note, my size 14 jeans fit me now. I haven't seen those in 15 years!!

  8. I have experienced the boney butt issue. 😁 I definitely think I'm walking differently. I've got zero boobs now. I have been a DD my whole life, since I developed and now I'm likely a C, might be a B. I mean they are gone! I think I'll go get a couple good fitting bras. That's good advice. I think my body just doesn't know what to do. I'm dreading the cold issue because even at my heaviest, I've always been freezing and I always said I don't know how I'll survive without my insulation. It's nice to hear what I'm feeling is all typical. There's so many things the doctors don't warn you about.

  11. I'm on month 2 post op, I'm down 50 pounds. What I'm curious about is the joint, back and hip pain I'm having. I don't have hanging skin. I never hurt before when I was 50 pounds heavier and now that weight is melting off.... I'm starting to ache. It's this because I'm walking and moving differently from being smaller? I've always been active and have always worked out, so it's not that either. Is it diet or vitamin related? I'm just confused that I ache so bad. Has anyone else had this? What did you do?

  13. My first appointment was March 15th and I had surgery August 21st. It took 5 months because insurance required a lot of pre surgery things. 5 months went by so fast though with all the appointments. You won't regret the decision to have surgery. I had RNY gastric bypass. It has not been difficult at all. Best of luck!!!

  17. I have 3 bags of clothes that don't fit after just two months and I'm no longer plus size. I'm sticking with leggings (cheap at Walmart) and then I feel okay in an oversized top, basicallyjust wearingthem until they fall off. It's rough because our sizes change so quick. My mom is giving me hand me downs so that is helping. I also hit up second hand. I say if you like curvy clothes get what you are comfortable in. Today I changed clothes 3 times before work because nothing fits! Even my undies!!! It's so fast!!! I guess it's a great problem to have. I say go shopping once you are at your goal, until then, improvise to save $.
  18. I can only pray to be as "unsuccessfull" as you are!! Lol...She is out of her mind, and I'm not a veteran yet, but I would report her. Tell the doctor. She needs to have an appropriate bedside manner that she lacks. You deserve better!

  20. I'm 8 weeks post op RNY bypass. I'm losing phenomenal weight. I've lost 2 pants sizes, down to a size 16 and they are not tight. My shirts hang. I know I'm smaller, but in the mirror I still see the same person. I feel like I look the same and I know I can't possibly. I don't have hanging skin that's swaying my eyes. I just don't know what up. I'm also disheartened because not one person has said anything and I'm sure that is contributing to my self view. I'm taking progress photos and I'm still just not able to see it in the photos. But I know it's drastic because my clothes hang on me. Is this normal?
  21. I waited to see if I needed anything first. I ended up with no pain and was at the gym walking on the treadmill within 3 days. So, it'll depend on you and your pain level. I didn't even need pain meds. But I did buy measuring cups/spoons in a wide range of sizes and a 3 time a day pill container set for Monday through Friday. Otherwise play it by ear and see how you do. The neighbor in my room was moaning and groaning all night in pain, so I think it's pretty individual.
  22. I was liquids, but when I did get to pureed food, low fat canned chili, canned stew, and turkey sloppy joe (minus the bread) were my go-to"s.
  23. Thanks all! Great ideas. I'm mostly having an issue on days that I'm physically driving and can't stop to prepare something. I pretty much have a "driving lunch". So I wanted to see if anyone has found economical bars or another way to supplement. I'm thinking meat and cheese will be my best option.
  24. I'm looking for suggestions on quick staples that ya'll found work well for days when a meal prep meal may not work. Are there portable fast things like certain protein bars or snacks you would recommend? I'm not looking for shakes, but chew food. My work provides some days where I need the packaged food options but I'm also not trying to break the bank. Let me know if you've got ideas or hacks for days like this. Thanks!
  25. I don't know how to do any of it, even what you managed to figure out and I have the app. Thanks for this post, hopefully someone can help both of us!
