    Hey Everyone!

Welcome! My surgery is on Wednesday. Also nervous, yet excited. I have told very few people about my surgery, aside from immediate family and co-workers. Good luck with your surgery!

My 3 week liver reduction diet consisted of Proti brand foods/shakes. Don't really recommend! Breakfast consisted of a proti packet, which was usually oatmeal. Then a proti packet for an am snack. For lunch it was a another Proti packet, and a second option of either 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, 2 eggs, 2 oz of lean meat, or a 2nd packet of Proti. Mid day snack, Proti. For dinner, it was 2 oz of lean meat, a starch and a fruit. Additionally, I could have all of the veggies I wanted, as well as sugar free jello, popsicles. Proti shakes are only decent if you're able to mix them with a milk frother and add ice. The soup noodles had a weird texture, so I always picked them out. The oatmeals were just ok. The blueberry pancakes I was not a fan of. Tomorrow starts my clear liquid diet and surgery on Wednesday. Excited to be on the other side of this.

    May 2025 Surgeries

My surgery is May 7. I started the 3 week pre-surgery diet today. I've started purchasing the supplements needed for after surgery. Looking for those after surgery "must have's", besides the supplements.
  6. Hi everyone. I started my journey to surgery 4 months ago. I am down 30 pounds since I started. I went into it knowing I wanted the RNY. My doctor tends to do a lot of sleeves. He said when you look at the weight loss in a 5 year period, they end up having very similar results. She sleeve is slower, but evens out by 5 years. His reasoning for thinking I should do the sleeve is because I currently use NSAIDS. My hope is that after weight loss, I won't need them any more. He ultimately said the decision is mine and he's ok with either one. He is going to retire before my surgery and I will see his partner on March 3 when I have to make the final decision. His partner also tends to do more sleeves than RNY. I'm looking for people who've had surgery. Which did you pick, why and are you happy with your results? Thanks in advance!
  7. Thank you. I forgot to mention that I just had the endoscopy done last week and Al looks good. No reason to not do the sleeve. My preference has always been the RNY because my sister, sister-in-law and niece have all done the RNY with great success and I know what to expect. Recently my gut says to do the sleeve, but also feel I’ll regret it if do.
