  1. I pointed that out because you act as if the prostitute and her sin is somehow removed from your sin. She may be sinning without knowing God, yet you sin WHILE knowing God. Which one is worse?? But you ARE being judgmental to act as if their sin is somehow different from your sin. You act all high and mighty because you are saved, but yet you sin still... just like they do. Then why do YOU keep doing it?? Pride is sinful, and your fruits appear bitter. Yet when you were told you were sinning as well, you said I wrote a "nasty post" to you. Do you love them because you are called to, or do you love them because you feel superior to them and they make you feel better about yourself?
  2. Can anybody say WOOT WOOT?? :hurray::tt2:
  3. HOW DO YOU KNOW?? How do you know you won't also be standing next to the prostitute as well? You don't know that she isn't a believer in Christ NOW. This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about! And frankly, I only "know" you're a Christian because you have told me, not by anything you have shown here.
  4. I read the rest of the thread just now.
  5. But, Unsure, with all due respect, people are coming here and ASKING the "know-it-alls" for advice and if what they did was good/bad/indifferent. Those "know-it-alls," for the most part, are bandsters who have been on this journey for a lot longer than you and I. I suggest if some people don't want to hear from the "know-it-alls," then they need not ask them questions. And not everybody here is going to react the way every poster likes. I politely suggest that if you are not getting the form of support that speaks to you, you can talk to friends or family who know you and your specific needs. Posting to a public message board such as this is likely to get responses different from what speaks best to people.
  6. To all you up-and-coming bandsters, you will be fine. I can't help you with natural jitters, but know that the surgery is really pretty easy to recover from. I liken it to having had my gall bladder taken out -- very little invasiveness, recovered quickly. I was fortunate in that I had absolutely no gas pain in my chest or shoulder, and I didn't even bruise at ALL. Y'all will be fine.
  7. Don't know if this is too heavy for here, but how sad and embarassing! FOXNews.com - 275-Pound Woman Says Hospital Told Her to Use Zoo MRI - Health News | Current Health News | Medical News
  8. I've been wondering where Medium was! Ceredad, you truly live in hell. Tooooo cold!
  9. Patty, I guess to help make things more clear, I look at how you use your Christianity to bolster your stance, and then I look at Steve Goad's use of Christianity to bolster his stance. It's like night and day. Maybe you could read some of Steve's posts to get an idea about how your attempt at communication is lacking.
  10. Ooooh, that smells SO good! Mmmmmm... LOL Now I'll go fix me some chicken broth.
  11. So then I guess you can go stand next to the prostitute.
  12. No, it makes you LUCKY!!! I'm on liquids over here! Psst, can I just smell your breath?
  13. I noticed we were banded the same day too. My first fill was under fluro. However, because I didn't know what to feel for, I thought I was feeling water going down slower than it probably was, so my doc did a very TEENY fill. I have to tell you, after that, I was hungrier than I had been through this whole thing, including the week-long liquid pre-op! I was freakin' starving for two weeks. Hence the second fill yesterday. So he told me yesterday he wasn't surprised I was in so soon, that he put so much in and kept taking out then because I said I could feel the water going down slowly. He figured, okay, he didn't want me to be uncomfortable. This time he gave me a more aggressive fill, about where he figured I should be after two normal fills. So far not so bad, even though I am still on liquids, then mushies tomorrow and Thursday.
  14. I haven't been through this, but I can offer encouragement. You can hold out just a little bit longer. It'll all be worth it in the long run. Maybe he can get you in quick...?
  15. Hehehe, will probably come to that.
  16. AWESOME! That's the point. We can dislike the sin but not condemn people. Where they are with God is between THEM AND GOD. That is what I personally believe it means that we are to not judge others. We can internally judge what they do to be wrong and something we would not want to do, but it is not for US to stand on our superior soap box and be Pharisees for all the world to see. It's just as sinful as what the prostitute is doing, imo.
  17. There are none so blind as those who will not see. Every post you have made on this subject IS bashing people in the face. You say you are not trying to reach people here, but yet you sure do PREACH to them as if you are trying to do something. I was not one to go so far as to say you were being all superior, but maybe you were -- especially if you weren't trying to reach anybody. The only thing I really agree with you on is that GOD has the last word on all of this -- NOT you. It's for Him to sort out. I believe my God is a big enough God to fight His own battles. He certainly doesn't need behaviors like you exhibit to run people off from Christianity. So... since your argument was "only" about whether prostitution should be legalized, you have given your opinion. Everybody knows where you stand. Guess there's nothing left to argue then, is there?
  18. No, but it very well could have some truth to it.
  19. Yeah, me too. I was bad. Got spanked. The most I MIGHT do is a HORRAY for a job well done, since that's all everybody wants anyway.
  20. Hehe, I was hungry the last two weeks. And PMSing. Bad combo.
  21. And the thing is, in God's eyes, sin is sin. The person who gossips is committing an equal sin to those who murder. And Patty, if you read your Bible as you say you do, you know the times we are in. They were prophesied. You can lead by example, but using the "strict teacher method" on people never warmed their hearts against lessons they may not be very open to. Not everyone will "hear" the message, and even fewer will hear YOUR message because it is presented completely opposite of how Christ intended and did it. Christ's message was one of forgiveness and love; yours is one of condemnation. Now if you were on the outside looking in, which one do you think would speak to you more? Condemnation, or love?
  22. See, there you go again. I doubt God would be too happy with your prideful nature.
  23. Nobody said I am ashamed of Him!! However, I have NEVER beaten anybody over the head with the Bible because all it does is piss people off. How many people do you draw to Christ by your accusatory tone, your condescending manner? Few to none, I would imagine. Just remember how Christ handled the prostitutes and other sinners. He was never condescending, EVER. He gave them the Word, and they either accepted or they didn't. Berating people by smashing them in the mouth with God's Word does nothing for the people you think you are trying to reach OR God. That's all I'm saying. I meet people like you all over the 'net and all I have ever seen happen is more people are turned off from Christ than are turned towards Him. Y'all do more damage than good, imo, in HOW you present what you believe.
