I'm going to make myself accountable here.
BethFromVA replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
May I? If you feel you need to consider it public humiliation, I am in no place to judge or cast aspersions. However, what about public accountability? I don't see ANYthing that you should be humiliated about, Irene. From where I am, you are down over 80 pounds from when you were at your height! Did you have a setback? Yes, absolutely. Do you need to get yourself in check? Double yes absolutely. But unless the thought of humiliation works for you, I look at it as accountability. For me, accountability is hard, but positive; where humiliation is harsh, but negative. Okay, off my soap box. This is your journey, and I don't want to waylay you at all. It was just a little observation of mine. :huh2: -

Aw, Diva, I just caught this thread. Here is your kick in the ass: "I'M NOT A FAILUREOR GOING TO MAKE MY BAND A WASTE!" You're NOT a failure! Remember why you did this, went this route. Go back to that honeymoon phase when it worked and you worked it. Maybe that's the "kick" you need, to be reminded how fantastically wonderful you are and that you deserve that healthier you, that better you, that happier you! I mean, we can kick you in the ass, but the only one you're hurting is you. The only one you really have to answer to is you. And maybe if you can remember why you deserve better than you're giving yourself, it will be the right kind of kick that you need. :huh2: -

Yes, it's on the tile floor in the bathroom. Ah, Lulu, just read your reply. Hmmm... good thought. -

:huh2: I don't recall the last time I replaced the battery, but as we all know, the scale is only being used for a few seconds each time it's used. -

Hehe, I like that. This morning it went up 1 pound; then down 3.5 pounds; then up 2.5 pounds from the low... all just this morning. I never weigh myself over and over in a day -- I usually just do it once. But I guess I wanted to double-check because I was like wth about it going up. It's really weird. -
Omg, he's on again?? :huh2:

?JT?: Does anybody else here have a digital scale? And if you do, is it indicative that the battery is going bad if you get on the freakin thing three times and get three different weights within minutes of each other? :huh2: -
And you never will. She doesn't have the ability to think of anybody besides herself.

Ah, so I'm NOT the only one that has one of those. -

The words "ironing" and "must," especially together, just are NOT in my vocabulary. -
Actually she hit the nail right on the head. I will bet the farm that one of them will die... at least one.

Unfortunately, yes.

You already ARE a hot mama, Tina. Just now, you'll finally have the body to make you feel better about yourself. As for him making you feel guilty, do all you can to not let that happen EVER. What do YOU have to feel guilty about? Being cheated on? Being lied to? Being strung along while he carried on dalliances with other women? For being a good mom to your kids while he was "dating"? For finally standing up for yourself and saying you can't live like this? Hon, you have NOTHING to feel guilty about. Every time you try feeling like that (or HE tries to make you feel like that), just politely remind him that YOU stayed true to your marriage while he did not, and then walk away. Strength will eventually come.

CRAP, me either. :frown:

Omg, I missed it too! I too hope you find something soon, G4E! :frown: -
Good to hear it, Tina!! As for making things better for him, screw that. You don't have to be a bitch (which it sounds like you're not in any way), but his issues with HIM causing this are not your problem. HE foisted this on YOU, not the other way around. If he gets angry, remind him WHY this happened. He has no right to get angry, question you, or give you a hard time AT ALL.

Anyone junking out to keep the secret?

Exactly! You're a new-and-improved guy! :crying: -
Unfortunately for all but those with amazing metabolisms, we will always have to watch what we eat and exercise. :crying: I know that eventually many people enjoy whatever they want in moderation, and one day I probably will too, but right now I am doing all I can to utilize this tool to my best advantage. Would I lose weight if I ate how I did before but less of it? Yeah, probably. But I know I'm losing MORE by eating healthy too. Good luck, and it's good you did some self-analysis. Now you will have to decide for yourself how quickly you want results and then strive for that. If you have decent restriction, my doctor put it very well -- if you can only eat so much food, you will want to have the best food you can have. Makes sense!

Tap, where DO you get your energy?? WHOA! My iron and ironing board are dust collectors, nothing more. They ONLY get pulled out on those rare occasions where I sew and need to iron out virgin cloth. Besides that, they are my red-headed stepchildren. -

So it's a for sure then? Did you do your little bat scouting last night? I tried calling you to see if you got your paper done so we can do the movie today. Have errands here in a while, but I'll check back. The Fox theater is 3:50. -

I really love that last one! -
Do you find that you CAN eat that much, or you are hungry for that much? I ask this because I recently had to ask my doctor what I should be doing food-wise. I felt I could still eat pretty well -- in other words, 4-6 ounces of meat, a veggie, and good-size salad. I asked if I should be feeling somewhat full when I eat, or should I be working more towards eating a certain amount. He said it was the latter -- eat about a cup of food and walk away for 15-20 minutes. If after that time you are still truly hungry, have a bit more. That helped me tremendously since I felt I could eat too much. Maybe try that? Of if you are sincerely hungry, you might actually need another fill. I think what's hard for us sometimes is knowing if we are really that hungry. Many of us (myself included) got used to eating until stuffed. THAT was full -- way beyond satiated which is what we are to strive for now. I guess you will have to guage yourself and determine whether it's just that you can eat that much or you need that much to feel satisfied. I can't tell from your post if that is part of the issue. Good luck, and don't give up. I feel God has given us a wonderful tool here, but the trick is learning how to use it to our best advantage. I hope you can do that. You deserve it.
