Yes, it was very tragic, but it says a lot and explains what some of us have been wondering -- whether they touch on the life-changing things they can and should do to get better.

Michelle, nothing personal, but to suggest she stay with a cheater is absurd. This guy didn't just cheat once, he cheated numerous times, and the most recent one was an ongoing affair for over a year. NOBODY deserves that. TRUE love does not include cheating. How much would he have been showing his love for her had he brought home AIDS or some other VD to her?? And trust me, she will NOT end up alone. I'm sorry, but love does not cheat or hurt you like that. She's better off without the guy.

That's GREAT, Glouc! I'm down 11 pounds since my fill last Thursday. It's only 6.5 down from my prior lowest (I kept bobbling up and down for the prior month), but it's a new low for me.

Hehe, partners in crime. I decided to go for a walk/run for an hour to keep me from realizing I'm sitting here doing NOTHING but looking at my research documents. Ugh. And to think, I CHOSE to do this paper because I CHOSE to do the honors portion of this class.

Me too. I'm supposed to be writing a 10-page paper that's due on Wednesday. I haven't even started, except for pulling data.

All we can hope is IF he makes it to the finals and goes home, the fact that he doesn't really have anybody doing things for him (cooking, riding his ass) will be the killer for him and he won't succeed. I'd hate to think that THAT guy could win this thing...

Sounds feasible and interesting, but how do you make meat yourself? If you mean eating meat prepared at home versus a restaurant, that's one thing, but I would bet virtually ALL meat that we buy at the store also has hormones and antibiotics in it.

It should happen gradually, Emma. My first fill, I was STARVING -- like, hungrier than I was before the fill. The second was better, as was the third, and I just had my fourth last week. With each fill, it gets a bit better until they find your sweet spot.

Nothing to thank me for. You did the right thing. I know it's hard, especially when you feel like you can work out but are told you can't -- and when the scale hasn't moved. However, you know that if you harm yourself by getting back to it too soon, you could lay yourself up much longer, and that isn't a good thing. :crying: I have to remind myself all the time how this is a journey, not a race. If you do the right things, the right things will happen. Don't lose sight of that and where you came from. :rolleyes2:

Heartfire, just some unsolicited advice: If you are still supposed to be taking it easy, then take it easy. The scale ain't goin' nowhere, and this journey will pick up where you left off when you are feeling better. You will do yourself a better service if you rest and get well than if you go for that walk and potentially slow down your progress.

Yeah, I meant them. Do you really think they get it? I dunno, I think they don't. I think THEY truly think this is a right-wing issue organized by FOX. I've heard that a lot. This was a grass-roots effort by everyday citizens who wore no political affiliation on their sleeve. I saw black, white, brown, yellow... all sorts of people there. People are in a stranglehold by their government, which is taking more liberties than the Constitution allows them to have -- for the very same reason they fled the tyrrany in Europe. This policy is NOT sustainable in any way, shape, or form. We had some great speakers at ours, one of whom had lived in the USSR for a time when they played the inflation game, printing money like the US is. A month's wages very quickly got to the point where they wouldn't stretch the week, and then a day. This woman said hundreds of people a day were plunging from buildings to their deaths because they had been wiped out. She and her family literally walked past bodies on the streets on their way to church. She said this happened in a matter of months due to the same types of things that our government is now doing. The one thing you can say about people in general and government specifically -- they NEVER learn from past failures.
