I think you're mixing up two things that I said. You seemed to be asking two different things, one having to do with lying to pageant officials, and one asking what God thinks about what she did. I said that it DOES matter if she lied. If she did (and right now it's not looking too good for her, though I have only seen one picture), then yes, she should lose her crown. As to the question about answering to God, that is for her to do, not be scrutinized by us for what she will have to answer to God for. They are two separate issues. I wish I could believe that is true, but you say it is, so I will accept that and move on. However, if she had answered "correctly," this would never even come up. I have no doubt about that at all. I don't know what the rules are on this, so I guess I'll have to look into this. If I was her, I wouldn't WANT to represent such a screwed-up state as California anyway. She IS being punished by a small minority who are zealots on this topic. And yes, the majority (no quotes) of Americans do not support gay marriage. Well, for one, that the majority of Americans (again, no quotes) do not support gay marriage. Or that she should be commended for sticking to her convictions regardless of what you feel about the answer she gave. If she was from any other state than California (except perhaps Massachusettes and whatever the other state is that has legalized gay marriage), this probably would also be a non-issue.

That is true, you could.

Socal, I'm not aware of four pics, but if there are, then yes, she still answers to God on this. She doesn't answer to you or me or pageant officials or that pond scum Hilton. SHE knows what God would say about that behavior, and it DOES matter. However, it doesn't affect anybody but her. And you and I BOTH know why they are digging up all they can on her, and it's because she gave the "wrong" (to some) answer. Had she said that gay marriage was her hope and dream, you know damn well these photos would 1) never be dug up and/or 2) never be released. The fringe left has an uncanny way of punishing those they don't like by using against them the very things they say they are all for. The fact that you don't see (or acknowledge) this does not surprise me.

Omg, hon, DO IT!!! I'm in school now too. I take one more class this summer to be done with all my basics/gen-eds (essentially what would be needed for an Associates), and in the fall I will go back to George Mason for my Bachelor's. I started out there in January of last year and then in the summer moved over to the community college to get my basics done and out of the way for a lot less money. I'm contemplating asking DH if, by the time fall sessions start, if I don't have a job, should/could I just give up on work and go to school full time to get done. Doing two classes a semester while working full time is a bit difficult, especially since I won't be able to do any more online classes, campus is 30 miles away, and on average I was getting home about 11:00 pm on a work night and working all through my weekends on homework. Hubby and friends could not grasp why I couldn't go out riding motorcycles and having fun with them when I had on average 10- to 20-page papers due each week between the two classes. :grouphug: Granted, August is a long way off, but I dunno... I'd almost rather get it done and over with. Then I could hit the workplace with a degree (if that's even worth anything these days -- a friend said a Bachelor's is pretty much akin to having a high school diploma these days...). But for me, it's as much about knowing I DID IT. I will be the first in my family that I know of with a college degree. My SIL just got her Bachelor's, and most of it was done online and took her seven years. I've already been at this off and on for waaaay too long. I'm ready to be done. -
Wait... MAYO?? Why?? And I have to say, there is nothing worse than a tranny man who is more beautiful than a woman. Just unnatural. And oh so disappointing. And discouraging. And just... sad.

Yes, but usually it was bad behavior outside the pageant or comments made outside the pageant. To me, it's very different when one is asked an OPINION on the stage, it is given, and because it is not popular to some, she becomes maligned and beaten up for giving her OPINION. So... you condone lying in order to further one's personal benefit rather than sticking true to one's belief? Sounds rather shallow and, oh I dunno, fake. But no matter the answer, BJean, it IS a controversial subject! Just because SOME companies out there may want to have a homosexual-promoting queen, others would not. It's not like somebody asking, "Do you think we should bring back the practice of sacrificing babies to the gods," and she says, "Omg, yes, I think that would be a great thing to bring back!" NOBODY would be behind such a thing. BUT... homosexuality has people (and corporate sponsors) on BOTH sides of that issue, and no matter the stance she took, there would be corporate sponsors who would not want to subsidize pageants regardless of the answer. It was a loaded question, pure and simple, put out there by a vicious queen himself. Yes, but again, it was due to a choice she made, not a question she was asked on the stage. Very true. And regardless of how "popular" many want us to believe this topic is (as in "most" people are for it), it has been proven time and again, and even surprisingly in CALIFORNIA of all places, that people are overwhelmingly not willing to support this. I know here in DC there was a huge brouhaha the other day over the possibility that DC will recognize people married in other states. Yes, it's a hot topic because SOME want to make it bigger than it is, but in reality, most of America is not willing to support it. Miss California DOES represent MOST Americans, and even the pageant people know this. Poor Miss Cali. Her friends and family probably goaded her into making the decision to "expose" herself with the answer she gave. That makes no sense, BJean. She didn't even know what question she was going to be asked or by whom. Did she want the crown? I'm sure she DID. However, did she want it enough to go against her principles and beliefs? Nah, she didn't. That's what some of you people don't get -- SOME are able AND willing to put their faith before what's popular to some. She answers to God, not man. It's what I said about my stance on the matter. Even if you don't agree with her answer, to not recognize that she went against what she probably knew immediately would be required of her (to give the popular answer) and stuck to her belief, all the while being called a b*tch and a c*nt by that fag Hilton (and he IS a fag -- not because he's gay but because he chose to be a fag after not getting the answer he wanted, throwing a fagalicious temper tantrum) says a lot about her character even if you don't agree with her stance. If more people did that, maybe we'd be a better society.

Do you know if there is more than just the one? Dirty.com showed the pic (or maybe one of the pics) in question, and I would think if there were more, they would have shown them.
-
When I heard about these "racy pics," I thought there was WAY more to "them" (which I found was only one, it seems) than there is. It's just ridiculous -- I've seen more on primetime television, for cryin' out loud. If that's her past, it's still tamer than most. What got me when looking through some of her older pics (I think it was for the Miss California contest) was her pubis bone! Omg, it's either so prominent -- or she needs to shave BADLY -- that it almost looked like she had a rolled-up male member in there! If that's true, that's pretty crappy since SHE had no control over the question that flame Hiltonn asked her. But then again, that's the way some of these people are. Had she answered "correctly," there would be NO investigation (or rumor of one) into "speaking out for causes without permission." I guess they're going to make an example out of her to ensure that NOBODY ever gives their true opinion on a matter when asked. I think it's a very shitty way to handle this. Nobody needs to agree with her, but the fact is, she WAS asked.

Well, summer (in Houston, anyway) seems to start about March and ends sometime in November, so... Kinda how like Michigan's winters start in August and end sometime in June, right Babygurl? -

Maybe from now on, when she calls and you realize it's her, just say, "NO!" -
Yeah, no. Not really. Nah, I think it's about what women find fascinating and realizing the hard work that's involved. Don't you know yet that women don't do stuff for men? They do things (makeup, clothes, exercise/good bodies) for other women. Duh!

That's a great explanation, but I guess I still don't see a difference between that and a bisexual.

While I'm very proud of Ron for FINALLY finishing something in his life, it also aggravates me that much more about his whiny ass and all those times he quit almost immediately after starting. In the half-marathon, he went (somebody said) about 3 miles. Well, he PROVED last night that he COULD do it, twice over. Same with every other challenge he's quit. Last night proved that he COULD do it, he just consistently chose not to. Like he chose not to let the gastric bypass work for him.

If the Dallas area is "Africa hot" in August, then Houston is "OMG, even the devil is sweating" hot in September. :cool2: I used to say that once you suffered through August in Houston, you STILL had to make it through September, which was always worse. I would say if you could make it to mid-October without dying first, you were in the clear. -

I remember you saying you were a fellow Detroiter, Ebony. I think we talked about it a tad. I used to live off 8 Mile when I was a kid (think Eminem, lol), and when we moved to Texas, I lived in Sterling Heights (16 Mile). What's so funny is I became really good friends with my realtor in Texas, and come to find out, she lived just a mile or two away from where I was in Sterling Heights about the time I lived there! What a small world, eh? We may have literally bumped into each other at some point. -
Okay, fair enough. However, that story itself is part of the Torah, which has been the Jewish "Bible" almost since the beginning of time. Not quite the same as what you're saying, but okay.
-
OH, and WHY WHY WHY do they ALWAYS have to show these people puking??? Did we REALLY need to see Max tossing his water? :cool2:
-
Do they butt seasons up right against each other? Or do they do them starting in January? Because if it's the former and not the latter, they may not be able to use Max yet unless he's turned 18 in the interim.

My daughter (lovingly and sometimes not quite so) calls me a walking dictionary. :cool2: Take care, Tina, and see you after the doc.

You're so funny, Manatee! And I'm not even CLOSE to gay, but if I was, I would go after Jillian too. And Angelina. And Ellen Degeneres. And NO, I do not sit around thinking about this. Often. :cool2:
