Omg, I LOVE IT! Especially the part about the meltdown in front of her friends. Embarass the crap outta them, those teens of ours! Granted, mine is now 22 and has a baby of her own, and when she tells me about the fact that this nearly one-year-old has a temper, I just laugh. In her face. I say that the biggest benefit of motherhood is the day when we watch OUR kids dealing with THEIR kids. Then they get it. :tt1:

Omg, that's all GREAT, Susan! I hope and pray it all goes well for you. My family is based out of Detroit. I don't even want to think about what this all means for them. One cousin is in middle management with GM, and my sister's and her husband's jobs both really hinge on the economy there. :biggrin:

Because they don't have anything truly legitimate against you. Their response to you and the games all but prove this. What this tells me is that the ONLY issue you have there is with your manager. If upper management wants you to stay, and the HR rep also wants you to stay, and your manager simply stayed silent, to me that says that your only issue is with her. Now, that doesn't mean that she can't work on the others and convince them that you need to go, but it sounds like the stink is rising from the bottom. How could you NOT take it personally when it's directed at you, her expectations are vague, and she keeps you walking on pins and needles?? It's not like she is even CLEAR about what is expected of you, which is the LEAST she owes you! If she wants you to perform a particular way, gee, I think it would be great to know what "that way" is. I believe if you knew, you would all but move heaven and earth to do it. And it's too late now, but it might have been great if you could have said something like that (maybe you did). Omg, that was like the biotch who took over my boss's position where I was. I would keep up with STACKS of work, VOLUMES of things, and she would come around with a memo to us (myself and the other worker who did what I did and had volumes of work) saying we were required to keep up with our SHREDDING. :biggrin: GET IT IN WRITING!! That freakin' sucks!!! I can't tell you how mad I get that many of those who paid into the system can't get the help when they need it, but those who don't pay get tons. I was watching a YouTube video the other day where some representative from a hospital in California was talking about 15 or so patients in her hospital who are illegals and have each cost the hospital over $1.5 million. :thumbup::cursing: This isn't meant to be a political rant here, and I won't make it such, but it just goes to show how bogus the system can be.

It's funny you mention driving too. I drove to and from my folks' a couple months back (just over 500 miles each way) and when I downloaded my info, I was SHOCKED to see how the entire drive it registered much higher than just simply sitting on a couch.

I have the GoWear Fit and have been trying to find out information on something that has me a bit confused. Maybe somebody here might know the answer. I have noticed that when I ride my motorcycle, my calories go up. The other night I was riding home from school and it was a solid mass of 7 and 8 calories a minute. Granted, it was chilly, but even today I was on it for a while and my calories are higher during that time. My husband seems to think the device is reading the vibrating of the bike or something and isn't really indicative of any real caloric expenditure on my part. Anybody know differently or have an opinion? I'm HOPING it's for real, but I'm not sure how it can be.

Maybe, but your fear is legitimate and understandable. Sometimes when we are facing such things it's hard to believe that there is some plan or control behind it all. Sometimes we are just entitled to a "pity party" -- however, yours is anything but. MINE is a pity party. Yours is far from it.

I just bought a kit at Office Depot, one by WinWay called Resume Deluxe. It not only has templates for resumes, it will also help you draft an application letter AND it has little movie clip scenarios on how to interview and answer those tricky questions you may be asked -- including how to negotiate your pay. There may be more, but that's all I've found so far. It was $30.

Not that I'd wish it on anyone, but I have a strong suspicion the cousins are going to have a hard time of it -- if not outright fail -- because, let's face it, where others may have a family who needs to lose weight, they have an ENTIRE COMMUNITY which revels in being fat. They've adopted it as part of their culture.

One day when you have the time (and do it in one day so the effect really hits you), read through the entire thread and see where you've come from and where you are now.
