Spirited debates are all well and good. Lord knows I've been known to shut down a board or two in my time in the name of "debate." However, I guess I don't understand her vitriol against people she doesn't know and who I'm certain have done nothing to her. If she wants to disbelieve in God, that's fine. She's entitled to that, as I am to believe. But I don't see anybody daring to call non-believers names and show such hostility towards people simply for believing in a "fairy tale." If her non-belief is so grounded and strong, then it should stand on its own "facts." However, it's beginning to look more like the only way to make her stance seem above the rest of ours is to bring down the opposition by bashing people who only have opposing views. It doesn't exactly make her stance seem more legit. And I don't understand all the anger and hatred, honestly. Can't one disagree with the belief without turning to personal digs against people who simply believe in God? I don't read Patty so I don't know what SHE'S saying, but the few others of us here who believe haven't made disparaging remarks against those here who do not believe. I don't think it's too much to ask the same respect for the people. Bash the theology all you wish, if that's your thing.

I absolutely agree. And I have to say I feel the same way about how our teachers/schools are trying to force our kids to learn about sexual perversions and homosexuality in school. Those are things for private teachings at home.

Thanks, Slim. :smile2: Well... I felt the interview went well, but... I don't know. It sounds like he's restructuring his office and looking to add an associate. And the girl he has running the office is moving back home, so that's where the admin thing comes in. It sounds as if he's not sure if he wants an attorney who can do some admin stuff or wants an associate AND an admin person... I don't know if HE knows what he wants yet. He said he will sit down with the girl who is leaving, try to plan a strategy as to where he wants this all to go, and conduct additional (second?) interviews. He DID say that after knowing me and working with me in the courts for a few years, he was impressed by my professionalism, ability to handle the job, and personality. The other thing I also have going for me (according to him) over many of the other applicants he's had (OVER 100!!) is that, having worked in the courts as I did, I have an understanding of how the courts work. I guess I'm just confused as to what he's trying to do and whether I will fit the changes he's trying to implement. It was nice interviewing with somebody I know and who knows some of what I can do, so that's good. I guess I just don't know how to react to the interview.

What she said, INCLUDING the part about the rain. We had a military thing we were going to in DC last night that, right as we got there, got cancelled because of the lightening storm that was coming. Yes, feeling a HUGE difference. He wants me on liquids today (not a problem, still too worried about eating), and I asked about what to do about tomorow -- he said just play it by ear based on how I feel. If it helps, remember that I am in the same boat as you at the very same time. Imagine me imagining my potential new boss in his boxers. Maybe it'll take the stress off. As for how to dress tomorrow, you reminded me of a woman we had working with us for a while. After a number of months, it was very obvious she just wasn't a good fit for us. Kept making the same (big) mistakes, was rude, very hard to understand, etc. One day she shows up at work in a blue skirt suit (we NEVER wear anything that professional there -- more like dress casual) with a white blouse. ALL DAY she had these white tissues along her neckline to protect the collar of the blouse. ALL DAY! Helping customers, working the front counter! When I saw it, I thought she missed them, and I said, "Hey, you have tissues..." She knew. It looked ridiculous every time she walked around because they flew around her face and stuff. It was very hilarious! :eek: Not long after that, she quit. It was very obvious she had an interview that day. Worked out for us!

Oh wow, I already feel better! Yeah, I definitely needed an un-fill! I went in on Monday at 4.6cc and got my fill (don't know how much). He stuck the needle in today and asked the nurse what she had in my chart as my ending fill, and she said 5.2cc. Um, no... he pulled out 5.8cc!! Omg, my fill was 1.2cc!! No wonder I was having problems! So now I am down to 5cc. We'll see how that does for a while.

Though I'm not quick to assume he is being unfaithful, I'm also not so quick to assume he's not. We don't know this is casual flirting, and frankly, even though I don't believe my husband is a cheater and we don't have trust or jealousy issues, if I found out he was secretly texting some 21-year-old hottie who lived behind us, there would be words. She has concerns for a reason. And believe it or not, we women DO have a sixth sense about these things.

Thanks! Got some sleep last night, but certainly not restful. Had a couple small episodes of reflux, then one BIG one at 3:30 that had me up and sputtering and drowning. Called the nurse today and said it's better, but not gone, so she's having me come in about noon today for a slight unfill.

I know these are actually Patty's words (I have her on ignore but saw this quoted), but, even though I believe in God as well, Alexandra is right. Christianity DOES require something of its followers, and you said what that requirement is: Faith.

Okay, then I misunderstood. I apologize. However, I have to say that I was not raised with any religion and I found what I found on my own. And I have to say that most people I know personally would say the same thing. I know you said you believe most were raised a certain way, and that may be true, but I have found the opposite. You better believe that the only thing that keeps me believing is faith, especially when I see what man can do to man (i.e. 17-year-old rapes and murders baby, etc.). I don't understand many things I can SEE and FEEL, so for me, believing in God is less of a stretch, if you will. Besides that, I only know where God has intervened in my life and set things in motion which have benefitted me. I know many may call that karma or luck or planetary alignment or whatever, but for me, it's God. :cursing:

You're obviously entitled to your opinion, but this sweeping generalization isn't exactly fair. Any more fair than if somebody were to say that those who reject proof of God must have their heads up their rears. I only say this to show that that's not necessarily true, is it? You are entitled not to believe, but to knock those of us who do the way you do -- well, I would imagine if the same was done to you (and considering who you're posting with, it may have happened :cursing:), you'd think the person saying it had a screw loose.

Hm, may have to check that out. As I write this, I think that I had an antacid filled when I had my surgery which I don't think I've ever used. Need to go see if I have that.
