Okay, I finally have a confession. Went out to lunch with a co-worker today and did pretty good... got Soup (this place does THE best Soups ever -- so good she could be a soup Nazi and make people cry) and a side of mashed potatoes for my mushies. The soup was a FANTASTIC crab bisque, and it came with a biscotti-sized slice of toasted sour-dough-type garlic bread. I ate it. But WOW was it good... And get this, I got FULL! Omg, when I remember the GOBS of food I would eat before I'd feel full, and this cup of soup, mashed potatoes, and slice of small bread filled me up. I can't believe it! And I know I have no restriction yet.

I wish I was the sh*t. Hell, I'd even settle for being the toot.

Oooohh, you bees SO bad! I obviously need to clarify, otherwise I AM selling the product short, ain't I? I love them for Breakfast because I am never hungry first thing in the morning. At least I used them when I dieted, and I'm using them still. On mushies it's hard to get all my Protein so I drink a couple a day. I hope that helps! :eek:

The sell them at GNC, but for far too much money. I get them at WalMart for less than half the price. GNC sells them for about $10 for a pack of four, and WalMart sells the same stuff for about $4.97.

I've heard the Slimfast are no-nos too, but I don't really know why. However, for a few years now I've done the EAS Myoplex Lite Carb Control and really like them, especially in chocolate. Seventeen grams of protein, four grams of carbs, about 100 cals.

No, thankfully. It's not bad, per se, as in it doesn't make me feel anything beyond feeling like I need to swallow. Maybe it's my imagination... I have my second post-op next Tuesday, so I'll ask then. I'll be sure to eat beforehand, so maybe they can look and see if they see anything.

I hafta ask: Is it just me? I was banded 11/21 and just last week went to mushies. I've been able to have stuff like cottage cheese and crab cakes (per nurse). However, ever since starting mushies, right after eating (and for a while after, like hours), I feel like there is food right at the back of my throat, like behind the tongue but before the sphincter to the stomach. Same thing happens when I take my morning meds, one of which is a smallish capsule. Anybody else have this? It's not uncomfortable or anything, it just always feel like I need to swallow something. For the record, I also had a hiatal hernia fixed at the same time. Don't know if that matters.

My hubby mourns the loss of TexMex too. Can't get anything here like it, as the people here are all pretty much Ecuadorians and such. Not EVEN the same. Don't know if you've gotten the chance yet, luluc, but by FAR the best food I had was IN Mexico. Doesn't look anything like what you get in the states (duh), but wow... Puerto Vallerta has/had this place called Gaby's that was in the city somewhere, some little out-of-the-way place, and wowza. We couldn't speak Spanish, and they spoke little to no English, but we were able to get THE best meal. Fantastic!!

She will. You and I both know it was really a breeze. And what's so great is it she will have time to recover before she starts college in January! I'm SOOOO happy for her!! Please tell her for me. And if there's anything I can do... I mean, after all, you are just her mom, right? :angry_smile:

Slivers of apple (peeled) with peanut butter. YUM!!! Works well with Granny Smith or Braeburns. OMG, THAT IS FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC!! How is she feeling about it? Did y'all have to kick BCBS's rear to get them to answer??

Condescention by calling me honey isn't nice and not necessary. :frown: I'm not saying they're not. I'm just saying that I don't believe we are the cause of it. The earth goes through cycles. Otherwise we'd still have dinosaurs. What do you think caused the big issue there, carbon emissions and greenhouse gases due to... what? I simply believe it is yet another way for the government to get its hooks into us and further restrict capitalism.
