The cost for The maples clinic is 18,375.00. This includes fills for 1 year. Of course there is gas to winnipeg and food. I am lucky I have family in Winnipeg so I stay there. Is Okay because Creighton is small so get to shop in the City a little more.

I am from Creighton Saskatchewan, Because Saskatchewan does not cover lapband surgery, I went to the Maples Surgical Centre in Winnipeg and paid for it myself. Sent letters to the goverment but they just said good luck. Had my surgery Oct 14th. Go for my first fill Nov 25th. Janet

Hey I had my surgery on Oct 14th at the maples doing good just really tired at times. Dr Bracken and Dr Andrews are both very nice. I had no problem at the Maples Clinic. very helpful. Good luck with your pre-op. Janet

Hi It's Janet. Had my surgery Oct 14th doing good, starting to eat solids and doing good. Have my first fill on Nov 25th. I think it is worth the money I had to pay out at the Maples. Great care.

Hey, It's Janet, Well surgery is all done and I am back home. My daughter didn't wait to have her baby she had my grandson on the 10th my surgery date was on the 14th. He had to be flown out so we ended up in the same city he was. Find myself very bruised and tired but eveything working out okay so far. Talk again later when feeling better.

Hey TJ1, I am also scheduled on Oct 14th at the Maples Clinic I am for 10 am. So will probably see you there. I am on my 13th day of Optifast. I have only cheated once. Just had my birthday celebrated with a shake or 3. lol.

Lojo Dublin,GA: I have to be on the Optifast 3 times a day for 3weeks. The clinic I went to in winnipeg manitoba likes you to loose some wt before the surgery. It takes some of the fat off of your liver so it makes it easier to flip up your liver to get to your stomach. have been doing good on it didn't like the taste at first but getting use to it. then can have 2 cups of green veg. But not really interesed in them. Not really hungry on the optifast. Janet

Hi I am scheduled for lap band surgery at the maples clinic in winnipg manitoba canada on Oct 14th. I am on optifast for 3 weeks I am getting use to it now. Haven't cheated at all. Find that I am not really hungry fills me up. But I think about food especially potato soup even though I have had it only once. Hi Michelle, I haven't had my surgery yet, but I think things are just getting you down right now but you have to take the attitude that things will be better tomorrow. Maybe you won't make it to you appointment tomorrow but will go next week. things will all work out no use getting yourself worked up about it because getting upset is not going to change the outcome, is only going to make things feel worse. I am going for my surgery on oct 14th just on the optfast right now dreaming about potato soup last night. can think of better things to dream about. Hope you feel better. :biggrin: Janet

Hello My name is Janet I am on Optifast now It is going okay I haven't been cheating and not really hungry. My surgery is booked for Oct 14th. Looking forward to it but scared at the same time. I am a nurse and work on MaternitySurgical floor so have have some idea about surgery. Only met one of the doctors and he was very nice. The clinic is very helpful with any questions. Wish me luck and will keep you posted.
