Sleeved107 reacted to summerseeker in Nausea and low mood
Hello and welcome in this great forum. Yes I had a ton of nausea and vomiting in the beginning. It took me about 3 months to get the upper hand on it. I still take Lansoprazole 30mgs twice a day. My internal stitch line was very swollen. I had to sleep sitting up for a month because of reflux. I had the remorse in a big way. I paid to feel this way.
You have just made a huge change to all you have ever known. food and eating is often more than just sustenance and once its taken away we wonder what we have done. You sound like you are grieving. Staying in and not showering are classic signs. Its difficult to get therapy in the UK but you might need to seek it out. People on here often have low moods to the lack of sugary foods and drinks or just fast foods after surgery and need to go through a type of withdrawal.
Early out you still have the whole stomach amount of acid in a tiny pouch. It does make you nauseous. When you can eat better it does get better.
If you find moving through the eating stages difficult, go back to the last one. I couldn't do puree. Puke...
DM me on here if you want to chat.

A lot more space between my tummy and the steering wheel, much roomier chairs.

"Melt off." I was hoping that was going to be me too. A little good news....I lost 1.5lbs since I wrote my original post! I was hoping to fit in a size 10 by the Holidays. Wishing, hoping, and praying.

I was the same way. I had my surgery at the end of August and even still I am slow to lose weight; I thought it would just "melt" off after surgery because of how few calories I was intaking, so it has been frustrating. I'm trying to trust the process and follow my food plans, but I think the point is that everyone loses differently and we can't help which camp we are in.

Frustrating & upsetting I know but like everything about this experience (including the amount of weight you lose, your rate of loss, your time line for losing, etc.) the three week stall is just an average. Some will stall earlier & some will stall later. They usually last 1-3 weeks but could be more or less. Don’t worry, you will start to lose again. Just give your body time to reset it itself and work out your new needs. You’ll notice the scales dropping again when your body is ready. Can’t force it. You’ll only stress your body & yourself more.

Everyone's body and experience is different. Just trust the process and wait it out. You retain fluids after surgery.. Give it time.

I've had the exact same thing. Op was on the 7th of October and I lost about 8kg (18lbs) in week one, and then no budging. But that's to be expected. Are you constipated? This can also help with weight retention. So can fluids and gas post op. Just stay the course and it will drop. Taking measurements and seeing your size go down can also help to stay motivated. You can do this!

I had got my sleeve done on Oct 7th. 1 week post op I lost a total of 6.5 pounds (in addition to the 10 I lost on pre-op diet). But since then, I haven't dropped a single ounce! I walk everyday and I'm still on the liquid diet and just so frustrated. If I have to drink another Protein Shake, I'll gag. Is this part of the whole 3 week stall????
