OK here's "the picture," me in "the gold dress" at the Christmas party, with Michelle my RNY friend we started together she did RNY at SSF I did Lapband at Richmond and she's down almost 160, at's my girl!!

It's raining men!:willy_nilly: I LOVE my banded life, love love love it. I go to parties, I put little food pieces on my plate and get full before I get to them all. I put on slinky dresses and spiky heels and go out dancing & get hit on. I go to the gym and it feels GOOD. Who would have thought all this one short year ago???? Tamra I do still go to Starbucks but I bring my own sugar-free, 1-carb soymilk (the one closest to my house is the only one that will use the milk I bring tho), I get decaf, and I never, EVER eat any of their food!!! Good God girl, have you gone online and looked at the nutritional info???? There is NOTHING in that glass case for you, nothing atall. Step away from the Starbucks! My advice: you need to set yourself up to suceed. If you cannot resist the baked goods then do not go inside the store - you are just setting yourself up to fail that way. Make your own decaf skinny lattes at home - Cost Plus sells sugar-free torani syrups in all kinds of flavors. Cheaper too! I would rather buy a new pair of heels that have 4 Starbuckes lattes.

Vodka and JOGGING, Tina, lol! Seriously, before I "jogged" it loose I would not have been able to keep that diet cranberry w/splash of vodka down! 4 hours was ENUFF for me. I was starting to think that I had a slip or something, because I could not possibly be too tight, I am down 10+ from my last fill back in September - and it was only 1/4 of a cc! Then presto, as fast as it had started it left. It sure did feel like being stuck, tho - and swallowing a golf ball, LOL Goodnight! Sweet dreams

Pat I'm not going to make it to the WF group tomorrow - I have 2 parties tomorrow one starts at noon and I still have to clean my house, and buy shoes to match my gold dress!

Oh now girls, we were not having a date, we were just going to meet up because I had not met him in person yet! As it turns out, I fell asleep at like 6:30 and apparently I had my ringer off because about 9:45 my phone buzzes and it's a voice mail from him,oops! But he said he did not expect me to get up and come out in the rain that late, he was going to drive back to Napa & call him tomorrow. He's still bachelor #1 but there are more, although #2 kinda fell out of contention and I am waiting for the background on #3 so Candra maybe I should meet your brother! 44 is my low limit :-) But they can't be shorter than me. I'm just sayin . . . . . So yeah, that was a long and awful episode, I could not keep anything down and I was sliming for 4 hours - ugly stuff. But once it passed, I ate a salad with Quorn Chik'n and big hunks of cheese, some cottage cheese, 2 string cheeses, etc. - no problems at all! Very, very weird. So glad THAT is over.

RELIEF AT LAST!! Ahhhhhh . . . believe it or not, JOGGING did the trick! Well that and a shot of vodke in my diet cranberry to relax everything - all is good now! Holy moley, that was 4 hours of misery!!! I am going to have to carry some adoph's or papaya (or vodka!) with me from now on! And jogging shoes LOL Nicolie so glad to see your smilin face on here again! :-) Tina I mailed Michaela's package yesterday :rolleyes2:

AWWWKKKKK! OK for the 1st time EVER, I am too tight! Got up at 3:30 in the morning, ate 3 fried eggs with NO problem (not tight or anything), had a SF soylatter for Breakfast all was fine, then tried to eat 1/4 cup of egg beaters with cheese about 11:00 for lunch, and nothing has gone down since the firstbite! TOM due today, and "bachelor #1" just called to say he wanted to drive up tonight to meet me in person, and WHAMMO!!!! Band is like a freakin' vice grip! Ay yi yi, what to do, what to do? NOTHING is going down, and I can't be too tight . . . . could something actually be "stuck" for that long? It feels like a swallered a golf ball!! I've been sliming for 2 hours. Advice? meat tendorazer, papaya enzyme? It's not meat, but ??? I don't know what to do! Except calm down, but #1 is coming up tonight! Aggghh!!!

No no Jes, 1 lb + change from my Christmas goal - still have 12 or so to goal. Thanks for the rule Heather! That makes sense - so I guess I should have gone to the gym yesterday when it was just in my head and throat, cause I for sure have the cough today. I went on Monday AM thank goodness . . . and hopefully I can go again Friday morning - i will cycle through this thing fast!

She asked me what kind of diets I had been on, how I felt about exercise, what I expected for surgery to do for me, what I thought life would be like after surgery, why I wanted to do it, what I thought would change, what I thought my eating style was, if I had ever had any issues with binging or purging, and (!) to name the last 3 presidents!!! That was actually the warm-up question, LOL. There is nothing to worry about; they are not there to keep you out of the program. They DO want to make sure that you have your house in order with respect to any psych meds and or counseling, because it is tough tough tough after banding and every person I know has gone through a bit of a mental state. So be honest, make sure you are set up to succeed. Good luck!! -
oh I am on the diet cranberry juice too, I have regular and grape they were out of my favorite, pomegranate so I am mixing the two. I don't want to add Water but I guess I should. I am going to drink 32 oz more before bed, who cares if I am up all night since I don't have to get up and go to work tomorrow!! Does anyone know the rules for working out when you are sick? I sure don't feel like it, but when can I start again? I got light-headed putting the groceries away today, so it's too soon but - how long?

Yeah Jes still sick . . .Robin at 10, fill at 11:30 Wednesday. Going to get down there early to miss the traffic, gee why doesn't anyone want to walk the parking garage "hills" with me, LOL?!?! Hey Pat want to take off work next Wednesday & come watch my fill??? That carpool lane sure sounds good, LOL

Heather you HAFTA find a place to log on and check in . . I will seriously have withdrawals! HAVE A BLAST GIRL YEAH! Candra! Wellbutrin is the bomb, made me forget about eating too! Of course so did this Tofranil when I started taking it, now . . not so much. I want Wellbutrin again! Cutie kitty . . . . . . poor baby, thanks for not posting a pic of its butt tho LOL OK I have a man on the email, better go pay him some attention - I told him not to call me tonight unless he's into sniffles and frog voice LOL . . . I AM SICK!! I stayed home sick all day and missed a work party today, my (adopted) mom is flying in tomorrow eve so have to go to the airport to get her, and I have 2 Christmas parties on Saturday, 1 afternoon and 1 eve, plus the SR Support group meeting/party until noon . . I'm going to stay right here in this bed and get better before tomorrow eve, 'cause I don't like to miss no parties!!

Atta girl! Set yourself up for success, not for failure. And remember: Each and every choice you make has the potential for bringing you closer to your goal, or taking you farther away from it. Post that one all over your house - esp. on the fridge & the pantry!! I would have replaced "choice you make" with "bite you take," but it's more global than that for me. I need to remind myself that I am surrounded by choices every minute of every day. I don't have to be scared of them; I can just keep my goal(s) in mind and make the right choice MOST of the time. As long as I'm moving closer, I'm not going to beat myself up. I learned this little goodie from my stop-smoking teacher, It was totally profound for me to learn that every puff was a choice - I never DID have to finish a cigarette. Or a cookie. Or a bocaburger. EVERYthing is a choice.

Oh Cin - the antibiotics - that's probably for h. Pylori, which is the bug that causes ulcers . . they have to get rid of it before banding you, because the risk of ulcers in the new little pouch is too high. it is truly awful medicine, but it does the job!

Hi Cin, congrats on your surgery date! What a great Christmas gift you are giving yourself :thumbup: I think it is normal to not lose in the 2 weeks before surgery, especially over the holidays!! Just don't gain and you will be fine. We all freak out a little right before, and that makes us eat more . . . just don't gain. Tina, when you went in for this last fill, did you get a chance to ask Dr. Baggs about fills if you lose Kaiser??

Ah I know it . . . so much to be done at work whether I'm there or not - if I have to be out more than today and tomorrow, I will have to go in tomorrow night when there's no one there to infect, and bring work home with me. Fortunately I finished my staff reports for this week and I don't have any public hearings, but I do have a meeting with my favorite Supervisor - just elected last year - tomorrow, and I am going to have to miss that. My boss will go in my place to that, because when the Supervisors request a meeting they get one by golly! I need to go take more airborne and zinc . . . maybe send my son to the store for Zycol, even though it's freezing out there . . . cranberry juice would be good too. I am eating EVERYTHING zero restriction, I am down 11 - 14 lbs since my last fill of .25 so I really need a new one. I can't believe what my body is eating right now - I am eating freaking sugar cookie dough! Not a lot but . . still, I never do stuff like that. I feel awful . . . .

I hear ya Tina, BAD sore throat! It sent me home from work; I was on the main phone line and the calls were constant and my throat hurt SO BAD I just couldn't do it any more and had to get someone to cover me so I could go home. Sneezing, post nasal drip and gunky eyes, so I think it's a cold and not strep. You got cultured and it was strep? That comes with a fever, doesn't it? I had that 1 time and I remember I felt TERRIBLE than 1 day after I started antibiotics I was like, whoopee!! It was a miracle. Went on the ski trip with my youth group after all :-) Have gained almost 4 lbs back, but having serious PMDD symptoms (i.e., I am going to kill someone, but between killings I will just sit here and cry at nothing) so hopefully it will go away when my TOM starts next week. Better be before I go for my fill! I am munching on saltines with butter, SO not like me!! Waaaa . . .

Good morning girls, and that you SO MUCH for this sore throat and sneezing!!!! I hope my check comes SOON so I can go get some Zucol and some Airborne . . . . I hate being sick. Tina, snow - I can't believe it!! That's crazy!! I am going to Richmond next Wednesday the 16th for a fill, I have a Robin appt. at 10 and a Dr. B at 11:30. Anyone else be there that day?? We can walk the parking garage, hey it's got hills, LOL I miss you ALL!

Tamra hunny, glad you are feeling better! I just PMed you . . . you are so much like me! There is a journal that I have, has a green cover - a diet and fitness journal, and I log not just food and exercise but also 1) how hungry I was each time I eat during the day; and 2) what my emotions arfe. It has extra room to add your own columns, and those are the ones I add. When I faithfully journal - honestly - every day, I lose. It is not only motivating for me but it has been very. very. very revealing about me :thumbup: and why I eat/overeat. Thank God my band stops me when I get all crazy now!! Gotta go swith laundry over; I'll check back later

Oh Candra, I am officially poor now, too . . . it SUCKS so I totally hear you. And it's really, really hard to make good food choices when you can't buy food and have to nosh on whatever your teenagers have brought home, LOL!!
