    Non-Scale Victories Thread

    Well, I cleaned all the "big" clothes out of the closet - total of 18 "grocery" size bags full of clothes going to charity... I don't want to keep them around, cause I don't want to be able to fit into them again. Bought a new pair of jeans on the "other side of the wall" at the store - I am in a 16 now!! Wooooooooo hoooooooooo :tt2: Can't wait to see that number keep dropping.
  2. So... I weighed in this morning and the scale said 199.8 It has been 10+ years since my weight was 1-something. Yeah!! Taking it one day at a time... still a long journey ahead... :thumbup:

    first fill today :)

    I got my first fill today... I was all worked up with a serious case of the nerves... it turned out to be no big deal (and I HATE needles) - anyone that is getting their first fill soon, don't worry, it will be just fine. :thumbup: (if I can do it, anyone can!!)

    How did you "move" today?

    I walked for 25 minutes on the treadmill w/ wrist and ankle weights - burned about 140 calories - not to shabby considering it's the first time "exercising" since the surgery.... I plan to do it 3 times a week and build up from there. :tongue2:
  17. Ok, so I see some of my fellow December bandsters are now on mushies and even getting "stuck" on solid foods... Am I the only one that is on a 4 week liquid post-op diet? The last thing that I had to "chew" was Thanksgiving dinner! I will be able to start eating solids on January 8th... but that is still over a week and a half away! uggggggg.... Just wanted to know if there is anyone else out there feeling my "pain"

    How's everyones incisions?

    The dermabond is just starting to peel & fall off - the one scar that is totally revealed looks good, but it is the smallest of the 5. As the dermabond peels up it gets caught on my shirt and that is a little irritating... but at least none of them look infected/red at all (so that's a good thing!!) Has anyone heard of a good lotion (or potion) that we can put on to to heal the scars "pretty"?? (my Dr said that I could buy some vitamin E liquid gels and poke them to squeeze the liquid onto the scars...)
  19. Well it doesn't hurt as bad now... but like the week after surgery it was hurting BIG TIME every time I laughed!! Had to keep telling the hubby... stop making me laugh... and then that would make us laugh harder cause here I am "grabbing my port site" saying "owww owww my port!!" :wink2:

    December 11 date :)

    Hey ya'll... just checking in - 6 days since my surgery date 12/11. I am doing "ok" all things considered!! I am finally past the "don't trust the fart phase" - which is good!! My port site is sure sore (wooooo weeee!) from literally "jumping" up off the couch to run for the bathroom multiple times a day during the first few days. My scars are doing well, just itchie ichie! I am on protein shakes/clear liquids for 4 weeks post op - my Dr is pretty strict on not rushing to mushies/solids - so I am really looking forward to January 8th when I can actually "eat something" with a spoon or a fork. (Hopefully the holidays will make the time go faster!) I still feel really bloated, just kinda BLAH in the stomach department - keeping the GasX strips handy. I am still sleeping on the recliner/couch - too scared to lay flat in bed - since I am a stomach sleeper and don't want to accidentally roll over!! I cannot pick anything up (if its below my knees) because it stretches the port scar/muscle and gives a little "twinge". I weighed in this morning - I am down just over a pound since surgery day - so I guess that is a good thing. I think I am done rambling... hope everyone else is doing good - take care!

    What are the Holiday Hotties doing for exercise?

    Not much exercise for me right now - just a couple of "laps" around the living room/kitchen area every hour or so. Trying to just keep my legs moving a bit to avoid those blood clots!

    December 10, 2008 Band Date

    I have a date of 12/11 - so I am a few days before you... the first 2 days of the pre-op liquid diet were hard for me... I had a awful headache! Now, just finishing up day 4 and doing good! Good luck to you!! :biggrin:

    I am scheduled for the 11th... but decided to hop on the 10th train! Hope everyone is enjoying your "pre-op buffet" of Protein shakes, Jello, broth, Crystal Light and SF Popsicles :biggrin: I know I am!
