Finally on the other side!
NeonRaven8919 replied to NeonRaven8919's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My stomach is making a lot of noises so I know something is happening in there. I've been working on just drinking water with the occasional herbal tea as well. (All cleared by my surgeon to drink herbal tea) and based on my urine, I'm not dehydrated anymore, but I keep working to make sure I stay that way. I love stickers so adding stickers to my water bottle also.males it more fun to drink. -

I',m waiting for the laxatives to kick in now. At first I wondered what kind ifnsadistbwouldmtellmsoleone to take a laxative at Bedtime, but now I get that it's nit an immediate thing. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day. My surgeon did say if I haven't had a movement by then, call them. -

I need to wear my watch on the 4th hole instead of the 3rd hole now! Not bad for 3 days post op! -

That's great to hear! I took a 45 minute walk today, but my belly dragging made it uncomfortable so I think I need a tighter t shirt! New NSV today! My watch fits in the 4th hole instead of the third hole! The little things get me through lately. -

Ohhh! Thanks for the tip! I'm trying to avoid pain meds, not because I want to be a martyr or a hero, it's just that the pain medications make for a very unpleasant experience. They sent me home woth liquid paracetamol, liquid ibuprofen and dihydrocodeine. But I'm not sure when I'm supposed out to take which. And liquid meds make me lose the will to live if they taste awful. -

I also haven't stepped in the scale since I got out of surgery. For the first time in 3 months, I don't really care about number on the scale, I just want to get through the painful parts of the recovery and then check the numbers. -
Finally on the other side!

I've been burping and farting so I think the gas isn't trapped athough I decided to take the lactulose now to try and nip the constipation in the bud now. The most "pleasant" meds that I take have been the lactulose and the blood thinning subcutaneous injections. Everything else has made me feel awful or tasted bad and made me want to sip water which I can't do right after the meds. My favourite Vieve Protein Water still tastes good to me so I'm trying to switch between sips of that and regular water too. Since the multivitamin made me throw up, my team said I can try a two a day chewable instead and see if that helps, but like everyone else said, just prioritise fluids and protein if possible. -

I don't have a spirometer thing but I have been getting up in between naps. Mostly to pee. I think I will have to start taking a laxative soon too. -

So now I'm 2 days post op and struggling with taking all the medications. The forceval multi-vitamin just "forced-it-all up" and that was the most painful experience I've had in a long time. I also find that I'm not hungry at all so getting up to make soup or something seems like a chore. Any advice? -

I'm one day post op! Looking on the bright side! I get weird twinges in my belly and taking the liquid ibuprofen they gave me was not a pleasant experience. But I'm about to be discharged so I'll bee home soon! -

I keep getting weird twinges in my stomach and I hiccuped and apst wanted to die from the pain, but I'm in good spirits. Just waiting to be discharged now. -

My surgery is tomorrow and I'm starting to have doubts but not enough to put me off. Just pre-surgery anxiety I think. Just trying to prepare a bag for the hospital. I know I'll be staying for one night for sure and supposed to be discharged the next day. -

Not great, unfortunately. I'm doing better today though. Yesterday, I was really dehydrated. -

I'm still pre-op so I'm just guessing, but I think this is the kind of thing that disappears with time? Maybe once you get used to being your new normal weight you feel differently? My normal weight has always been 260 or so and I think I will always see myself that way. But just remember all that you have accomplished so far and you're still going! -

Three days until my surgery. I'm feeling anxious and I'm definitely not handling the stress very well! Shouting at DHL parcel couriers and my phone company over minor issues. I'm really ashamed of myself and I hope this grouchy time ends soon. I'm still worried that something will happen and my liver won't have shrunk enough or they will say I haven't lost enough weight or something. @Candace4283 well done on getting your surgery done! Wishing you a speedy recovery! -
14 Days to Go!
NeonRaven8919 replied to NeonRaven8919's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
8 days to go and I've officially hit the Dr's pre-op goal of 111.1 kg. (OK technically, I'm at 111.3, but I'm counting it anyway). 😄 I've worked hard and I deserve to be petty about 200grams! -
14 Days to go until my surgery. Starting weight 122.5kg I've lost 10kg (22lbs) since I started the pre-op diet. The doctor wanted me to get down to 111kg so with 14 days to go, I think it will definitely be possible. 10 weeks ago, even losing a pound seemed impossible! I know the hard part is still to come with actually keeping it off, but I'm still proud of how far I've come! I haven't weighed this little since 2017! I don't know if anyone has started a group for October 2024 Surgery buddies, but if anyone is also having surgery that month we can be buddies! I'm looking forward to the surgery, but I'm also going back and forth between having doubts and anxiety about it to looking forward to it!

I'm 35 and I've always been overweight. I think I was even born overweight! lol! My mother always said I was her heaviest baby, but the doctor said I had a large frame. Being active and exercising always physically hurt after I developed a hip problem around 12 and then getting bullied about not being good at sports just made me stop trying. Up and down with every diet and no luck. I'm looking forward to being a "normal" weight for the first time in 35 years! -

14 Days to Go!
NeonRaven8919 replied to NeonRaven8919's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks! We definitely have this! My doc put me on a 12 WEEK milk diet (milk with skimmed milk powder, a cup of broth for lunch and lots of water) It's been really tough and it's been ten weeks of taking it all in my stride, but as it gets closer, I'm starting to get nervous! The only surgery I've ever had has been an impacted wisdom tooth removal and this is major surgery! I'm at the point where I just want it all over with now to start the major weight loss, but I also want to delay it because of fear and one last Pizza Hut pig out. But the end is in sight and I'm excited! -
