  1. Hi LifeStartsNow, you and I have the same date - Monday. I have found a couple of Protein shakes that are delicious, so there's no problem getting them down. They are the "Oh Yeah" available from Bariatric Eating and Myoplex EAS, I like the chocolate fudge, from Walmart.< /p>

    The best way for me to get my Water down is to set aside four bottles of Water (20 oz) and start in the morning when I first get up. Sometimes I add some Crystal Light or Special K Protein mix to a bottle. I just concentrate on it being only 4 bottles, and try to be finished by late afternoon so I'm not up too often in the night. Anything I drink after that is a bonus.

  2. I love my magic bullet too! I made a yummy liquid yesterday when I was craving Taco Bell. I used 1/2 cup refried Beans, 1/2 cup sirloin broth, a dab of sour cream and a dab of cheddar cheese. It's absolutely delicious warmed up. It's high Protein, high Fiber and lo fat.

    Tonight however I'm craving a hunk of meat. In fact I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself, wondering when - if ever -I can have a bite of steak.

    Any tips for a meat craver?


  3. I would love to be eating that... but i have to do the shakes. I will definitly try it after i am banded cause my mouth was watering and my tummy was grumbling just reading it, lol. yum.

    How are you doing on the shakes? I can have full liquids until Sunday when I have one day of Clear Liquids only, because I get banded on Monday. I'm doing ok on fulls, except for a slight headache, being hungry, and craving a steak or a pork chop. Are you able to sleep? I'm having trouble with that too.


  4. Calling Lucky Losers on liquids this week!

    I just made a wonderful cup of Mexican flavored Soup. I measured 1/2 cup of canned refried Beans, 1/2 cup of beef broth, 2 tablespoons of sour cream and 1 tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese. I ran it thru my Magic Bullet and heated it up and it's deelicious! Full of Protein, low cal and low sugar, and did I mention it's deelicious! :confused:


  5. And our month finally starts! I know there are a whole bunch of us that are getting our bands this month and I want to just say YAY.....

    I know I don't go until the 8th but there are alot of us getting banded this week and I know we are all tired and hungry, but we should mostly be so excited to be starting this journey....together!

    I have gotten so much support from you all so far and I can't wait until we are all over this hump and can start really living our best lives!

    You're right, we're all in this together and need to support each other and cheer each other on. I started liquids today and I'm not hungry, I must have had too much. :thumbup: How is it that you're having your surgery on a Sunday?


  6. What are you liquid dieters drinking?

    Today is my first day on liquids, I'm being banded on March 9th, one week from today. I had a Protein shake for Breakfast, then had some Soup for lunch - it was broccoli and cheddar which I ran thru the Magic Bullet to get the lumps out. Now I just had some low fat cottage cheese which I also de-lumped. Do you have a calorie cap to stay under? I don't think I do.


  7. Congratulations to you MrRiceGuy! My date has been "nudged" a time or two. Just got my official insurance approval on the 9th too. So now it's up to my surgeon's office to squeeze me in; they have some pre-op classes they want me to take, etc. So the coordinator tells me it will be between Feb 23rd and March 6th.

    BUT! The moment I knew it was official I got really excited. This is going to be so great! we're all going to get this mighty tool to help us achieve our goal!

    YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
