  1. I also bought the EAS Myoplex Lite but it only has 17 grams of protein, 170 calories, 1 sugar (20 carbs all together) and 2 grams fat....lots of vitamins. The Myoplex Carb Control has 25 grams protein, 150 calories, 3.5 fat, and only 1 sugar (5 carbs all together).....this sounds like the best choice....I'm going to try this one. It comes in powder or ready to drink in Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.
  2. Slimfas low carb has 20 grams of protein, 9fat, 1 sugar and 190 calories.
  3. That is what I am drinking is the Low Carb Chocolate Slimfast...It's okay...but I don't know if I can drink it twice a day for a whole week....but that is probably what I would feel like for all of them.
  4. I am 7 days out from surgery...I am getting so excited...but a little nervous too...mostly about if I will be starving with only having liquids...especially right before Thanksgiving. Does anyone have a really great tasting protein drink that they are using with at least 20 grams of protein? I don't really like the one I'm using.
  5. I am having my surgery at Harper on Nov 14th...with Dr Elhore...has anyone had him?
  6. Hi...I am being banded on Nov 14th in Michigan. I live in Iowa and the cost here is 17k....in MI it is 10k....and since I am paying out of pocket I am going to MI. I am very excited...except for this protein diet...I'm starting it today. I am hoping to have my diabetes reversed with this surgery and obviously to loose weight. I am like you...I do not like to go anywhere since I gained so much weight. I hate looking in my closet for something that will fit today. I have 4 different sizes of clothes to choose from...I want that to stop!!!
  7. Thanks Deb for the advice, the psych appt went well this morning. I go back in 2 weeks for the follow up. We are going to submit all of this to the insurance company just in case they do approve me...but are planning on the self pay so we are ready. Have a great day.
  8. I just had my consult with Dr Eibes, it appears I am a candidate for the surgery....but I will have to be self-pay....$17,000 Not happy about this but my insurance BCBS of IL requires 2 comorbidities and I only have 1....diabetes. I am 39 & just under 5'7 and 230lbs. I have struggled with my weight my whole life and am just really tired of the fight. My hubby has agreed that it is worth the money if it improves my diabetes and all that comes with that. I see the shrink tomorrow...and go from there I guess...not sure what is left....since I am a self-pay. Does anyone know?:wink2:
  9. I also am just getting the ball rolling...and am hoping and praying that I will be approved. I have BCBS of IL and they have hoops to jump through...I however do have co-morbidities so that helps. I am going to my 2 1/2 hour seminar (required) on Oct 3rd...before I can even get a consult with the Surgeon. I have fought the weigh loss battle my whole life and lost....I would loose, then gain and then gain some more...I am so tired of always fighting to loose and keep it off. Just need some help keeping it off and not feeling starved ALL the time. I'm just hoping that I will not have to pay for the entire surgery....but honestly I will do whatever I have to....even if it means paying $15,000 just to keep this chubb off!
