    sweets.....

Hey peps..just to start out with, today was my 2 week post op follow up with my surgeon. Everything is going good. I have offically lost 12 pounds and in good condition. The Nurse felt around for a few minutes before she finally felt my port. I have a realize 9cc. She said it is just a little bit harder to find my kind of port because they are alot slimmer than the others. I am going back on the 15 of this month to have my first fill. Can anyone please tell me what to expect with my first fill? Also, I am having these big time cravings for something sweet. I have tried to munch on a sugar free popsicle put that just isn't doing it for me. Is there anything sweet that I can have. I was thinking earlier about the Weight Watchers sweet stuff. I wonder if that would be ok to try. All of the sweet stuff is very small but still really nice and helps alot with the cravings. I ate them with my last diet before I had the band placed. If anyone has any suggestions, please please please, tell me.

    mushies

OK so come this sunday I will finally get to start my mushy foods. My family is having a cookout for Labor Day and my dad is grilling out hamburgers, hotdogs, ribs, and BBQed chicken. While all of these sound super good, I told him to just grill me a piece of chicken with some Lemon Pepper seasoning on it. I thought I'd puree it in some chicken broth, hopefully it will taste good. I'd really like to have some ribs, but chicken is so much my healthy for you. Any one have any other ideas for the chicken?

    the drinking game

OK, I can understand not drinking 1 hour after you have ate, but why are you not suppose to drink 30 minutes before you eat?

    between meals hunger

OK, I started my "mushies" stage yesterday. I did good, I'll hand that part to myself. I noticed yesterday and today, I'm getting hungry inbetween my meals. I am only suppose to eat 3 times a day and only 1 to 1 1/2 oz. per meal. My papers say DO NOT SNACK BETWEEN MEALS. Any suggestions as of what I can do between meals to ease the hunger pain. Also, I have noticed that I am not getting that feeling of being full after I have eaten. I'm not sure if this is due to no restriction or very little restriction as of right now. I'm not even sure if the Dr. put anything in my band yet and I wont know until Wednesday morning. My scales aren't moving hardly anymore. I am (as of today) 2 weeks post op and have lost only 12 points. I thought 12 pounds in 2 weeks, wow that pretty good. Then I see people on here that have lost 18 to 20 pounds by now and I am starting to become depressed and wonder if I am doing something wrong. Am I, am I doing something wrong? Or maybe just maybe they are counting what they lost on their preop diet. I wasn't required to do a preop diet. I went in weighing 264 and as of today I weight 252.

    between meals hunger

I love the Atkins shakes, they are so yummy. I have tried several different Protein Shakes and the atkins is the only one that actually has a good flavor to them. I like the strawberry smoothie the best

So Is The Chicken, Fish, etc. Going To B Wet

If I'm not mistaken, "being wet" means that it has to be creamy. That way when it goes down, it wont get stuck (if you eat slow and small amounts). I had grilled chicken with lemon pepper seasoning last night, used some chicken broth to puree it with. It was really good. I think that with it being pureed, it actually brought the taste of the chicken out more. I'm wanting to try a pork chop 2morrow, not sure what liquid to puree it with though.

    Wow thats alot of eggs

OK so, I was cooking breakfast for the kids this morning. We have ballgames starting at 4 today so i wanted to make sure they had a good breakfast and will have a good lunch. I fixed sand dollar pancakes, toast, and eggs for them. Since I get to start my "mushies" tomorrow, I thought I'd check to see how much 1 to 1 1/2 ounces of eggs would be. Wow, it's alot of eggs. I was thinking it would be about 2 teaspoons full but its alot more than that. So, when I go to weigh the food, do I do it before or after I puree it? Wouldn't pureeing it make it to where you could get more than before you puree it?

    Wow thats alot of eggs

I'm actually suppose to start Monday, but my family is having this big labor day cookout sunday and there is going to be about 25 to 30 people here eating hamburgers and stuff. I am not about to be sipping on soup broth while everyone else is chowing down on hamburgers and hotdogs. I decided to start a day early (I doubt it will do anything to hurt me a day early) but I'm not going to be eating hamburgers or hotdogs. Im going to fix me some grilled chicken with lemon and pepper seasoning and puree it with some chicken broth. Not as good as having a hamburger but 1,000 times better than chicken noodle broth (lol). About the eggs, I am going to have me some in the morning and I was thinking about putting some lowfat cheese and some bacon it with it. Make it like an omlete. I can have pork and bacon comes from pork so I thought it would be a wonderful breakfast. Tomorrow can't come soon enough for me!!!

    Post-op eating guidelines question

I had my band done on August 18th here it is the 28th and I am still on Clear Liquids, no yogurt, no pudding or anything like that. I guess every doctor is different. I get aggravated alot because I want something that isn't going to just slide down my throat, I'd like it to stay in the pouch for a while so i dont get that hungry feeling. I guess my doctor knows what he is doing though cause I have already lost 11 pounds and its only day 10:w00t:

    New to the band! :o)

 hopefully that made the clapping hands. Way to go Corey. You are doing WONDERFUL. I was just banded 8 days ago and have already lost 11 pounds. I don't really have any tips for you other than do what your surgeon says and walk as much as you can. Keep up the good work!!

    a word of advice

Just thought I'd give a word of advice to all of you banders that are still on your 2 week post-op diet. OK, so my adorable husband fixed his famous beef stew over the weekend. We kept out some of the broth from it and I have been eating (sipping) on it for the past couple days. About 45 minutes ago, my stomach started growling so bad I was about to go crazy. So, I get up and warm me up some of the broth from the stew. I thought it would be ok if I put some crackers in it to make it a little thicker so it would stay with me longer. WARNING: DON NOT DO THIS. MY STOMACH IS HURTING RIGHT NOW AND I KNOW IT HAS TO BE BECAUSE I WENT AGAINST WHAT I WAS TOLD AND PUT CRACKERS IN MY BROTH. It is so not worth the pain I am having right now. Just stick to the diet the Doctors actually know what they are talking about.

    co-morbs ?

hope i didnt make u mad or anything, just would hate to see that happen to you or to anyone
  17. MADE IT 2 MY GOAL..OH YEAH

    co-morbs ?

I wouldn't go as far as lying to them. If ur insurance found out that you had lied, you may end up having to repay them or worse yet, end up repaying them and beign sued having to pay court costs and whatever else. You know what I am saying? Your doctor will be able to tell you if you qualify with the insurance or not to pay

    weighing options

UH HUH you guessed it, it's me ok. lol I have a question and then I have a comment about the question. So here goes. When you gals weigh yourselves do you do it with or without your clothes on? Did you know that if you weight with you clothes on (even night clothes) you can add atleast 2 pounds to what the scales tell you? That's right, you can. I just weighed myself a couple minutes ago both ways. First with a nightgown and night pants on, scales said 256, I took everything I had off and weighed again and it said 254. I like the naked answer much much better. So the question is, which is the proper way to weigh? Clothed or naked?

    weighing options

OH BOY gilliebean, I had a sip of hot tea with apple cider in my mouth when I read your reply. when I read pee, I just about spit out my drink. Not sure why, but that was funny. Maybe just cause I am in a good mood. I weighed myself and saw it said ten pounds, I ran back into my room got my cell phone, weighed again and took a picture of it saying 254 and sent it to my husband. lol:w00t:
