  1. Stalls happen and believe it or not many factors come into play. Sometimes your food intake is not as it should! You may be thinking what EAT more! Sometimes we are not consuming the correct amount of proteins and fats. And eating to less. Early post opp I had to add full fats and eat a bit more. I also started exercising early after surgery which does not really help weight loss but it seems to get things going for me. Definitely meet with your surgical team and dietician and they can get you on the road to more weight loss. I had to make adjustments. Small things to watch for is sugary liquid, refined sugar, a lot of processed foods, slider foods, starchy and to many of those carby foods we love so much! as I'm not sure of how your daily eating looks! I would love to hear of your progress as the days and months to come!
  2. Time for an UPDATE these babies are beautiful! It's a beautiful peace of perky art, symmetrical and awesome. I lived all my life with breast that were asymmetrical very horrible. I hope that everyone who chooses to get elective surgeries takes that leap!
  3. Do you all ever get mad at the amount of years obesity took from you?!
  4. Love the photos! Before and after photos are everything it shows you where you started and how far you've came and all the good work you've put in. I agree about the eating part. My love for good food has never went away so only on holidays I allow myself to get a spoon full of everything such goodness.
  5. ThanksGiving Win: My Thanksgiving win was I ate what I wanted, but I didn't get overly full and I didn't binge eat. This is the first year. I actually ate things from my abstinence menu. I eat on the abstinence model due to my food addictions and since my surgery a year and seven months ago on a typical day, I do not eat any pasta, starch, cookies, bread, pies, refined sugar etc. This year I ate all those things and was fine, did not spiral down to the abyss of hell 😂😂.
  6. I think I have a lifelong gripe! Often times I just stand and stare at the wall and think how many years was taken from me from this disease of obesity....it's such a cruel disease to have it is just horrible. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy and every day I wake up, I have to go to war with it and that is a big valid gripe! Also i'm packing to go back home for Thanksgiving and I'm annoyed that I have to pack so much stuff. I have to pack protein food, my snacks, my sugar-free candies and I'm just it's like it's so much work.
  7. I remember your journey from the early start! Very proud of you.
  8. @TrippingDaisy18 I understand your grip wholeheartedly. I remember those early stages if you're in the liquid stage ensure to make you some great bone broth as you enjoy family, I made my own bone broth out of different beef cuts and fresh veggies it was delicious. I sipped on as much liquid broth as I wanted it was lovely. I dislike being hungry. I hate that you can't eat the delicious food at this time but the reward is so great!
  9. @ShoppGirl with any of the weight management injections... I would only start them when you're able and want to be consistent. That's when they work the best before weight loss surgery, I had great success with my GLP-1 💜
  10. Today's Win: I finished my gym routine even though I was pissed.... before this bariatric journey and this mindset shift, I would've got pissed and went home and ate my emotions..... Story Time: So I'm trying to sell my car because It has minor front end damage and I'm on Facebook marketplace and people are like oh I want to buy the car and keeps flaking out. I was mid barbell rep when the guy who's supposed to buy my car Saturday, text me he was like "oh I gotta work. I can't come Saturday"........ before my bariatric journey, I would've got pissed and went home and ate my frustrations. I'm so proud of myself, I finished all my sets then I ended in the dry sauna doing my full routine And it's just I'm so proud that this bariatric journey has taught me to self regulate my emotions because I can no longer eat them things sometimes don't go as planned and I've learned so many new skills. It's a beautiful, beautiful win.
  11. My gripe: it's crazy how when you get this surgery you just have to know understand and accept that your anatomy is forever changed. I peed about 1000 times today. I could just run and scream like a mad lady
  12. @Bypass2Freedom I feel your gripe! the very first day I had surgery I told myself I would not buy a scale and only weigh once a month. I am happy to say I stuck to it. I knew my mental health was not stable enough to own a scale let alone weigh in all the time! Women we hold so much water weight, bloat, constipation etc. you also stated you work out so weight also shifts as well! So girly I hope the numbers on the scale does not get you too down. A gripe is a gripe tho though! We all have them!
  13. HeyYy so I buy liquid IV sugar free in bulk at my local Sam's club warehouse. There are a few other electrolyte brands I'm looking into there is a company called LMNT they give you their recipe for you to make it yourself kind of like what you are stating. It helps me a bit the liquid IV. I guess I will try to up my water intake because I do work out a lot, and maybe I think I'm consuming a lot of water, but I'm not. I also often wonder is it remnants of diabetes im a type 2 diabetic in remission because of the weight loss.....I remember when I was at my heaviest. I was always so darn thirsty. I don't know I'm gonna have to try some different things because it's driving me bonkers.
  14. So does anyone else feel like they never can get hydrated enough? I could scream to the top of my freaking lungs!!
  15. Ummmmm yea all I can say on this thread is that I'm fine as hell. That's it that's all. I was always beautiful, but the obesity held me back from being my complete true authentic naked stripper self. I will have to say that the beauty is breathtaking
  16. @Lilia_90 same gripe! I feel the same as you. I know will never be the same. Yesterday I made beef fajita tacos with lettuce as my tortilla and only took a few bites! It finished me ha.
  17. @ShoppGirl soooo true. Only to balance the scales so to speak. Hubby is taking his job seriously 😂. @Michelle22 I agree with you such a valid gripe! I already had chronic constipation before this surgery and man let's just say I have to strive hard to regulate! Gripe on ladies!
  18. @catwoman7 I understand! I will be standing there like a Spartan fighting a battle with my shield when those cravings come roaring back although I would love to crave food a little....., I'm not ready for any of that constant battling with the demonic forces to be, and that is Food !
  19. @kellsbells0182 I wish I had a bit of your taste buds. I am so happy for you that you can taste and actually enjoy what you eat! Yes could have been taken for granted. Keto Rash is a new one for me wow will have to look that up!
  20. Win: My TITTS are healing! 4 months post opp and things are getting better. I can jog without them feeling crazy 🤪
  21. @Arabesque thanks! I know it's a gripe but I'm Sorry I chuckled at your adominal poltergeist remark! I needed that little laugh. I understand completely! Great viewpoints, I know a lot of people would feel that not having cravings and not being hungry is a good thing but when you have been obese, all your life and that high is no longer there it's like a death. I've came a long way to conquer this beast this f**king demon. 🤣
  22. I'm about a year and a half out and I would like to say that there is really no part of this journey I enjoy. I'm grateful for my tool but having to do the work of bariatrics is very very hard and today I'm just pissed because I still don't crave food.... like I don't Have a craving for food. I have to make myself eat, then when I do finally eat the food is like uneventful even though it's very flavorful.: it's just it doesn't give me that ummmp dopamine hit like it used to. It's like my food addiction no longer has that pazazzz that it craves. I can't explain it and then as I'm sitting there eating my f**king stomach is gurgling and making noise and it just irritates me like This journey is very very hard. Everday I have a gripe!
  23. It depends on the price here in Texas if the buffet is like 15 or $16 I'll go ahead and pay the price and eat the food but lately the more expensive places I just drink water and talk to friends and family. It's no big deal... I'm not outrageous prices to eat four pieces of food be full! The most beautiful thing about my journey I'm about a year and a half out is that life is really not centered around food for me any longer so I do not mind accompanying anyone to a restaurant I may or may not eat
  24. I'm so sorry the disease of obesity is horrible. It's the most heartless disease of them all. It's just so many things that go into being obese. You have the mental the physical at play. What I have started doing, before I go out somewhere... I eat before I go, and then when I get there, I'm just not interested. I think a lot of it is our mind. If it were easy, we would have not had the surgery and done it on our own unfortunately we have so many things that we have to work on.
