  1. Hey girl how are you, I am sorry to hear about your port. When I had my first fill they also told me my port might have flipped but later found out that because of the way the fat arounf my belly is the port was not straight it was tilted because I had like a little inclination (fat) where the port is, so maybe is the same with yours

  2. Hello, how are you doing? it was great meeting you the other day, too bad we did not get to chat mush, well hope everything is going good for you.

  3. helo, how are you, how do you feel? let me know

  4. Hey how is it going, I am great thanks I am finally fit a size 14 , a little tight but was able to put up the zipper!! can you believe from a size 22-24 3 months ago. How are you doing?

  5. Well I am OK, I went to see DR. Oliak today I've lost only 4 pounds in about a month, but I guess that was not too bad considering it was the Holidays and all. I got my second fill today and it was a big one so now I am at 4 1/2 and I feel great. How are you ready?

  6. Hey girl congrats on your upcoming date, everything will be just great!!! All my best wishes your way.

  7. Hello, just it does feel great to loose eventhought it is not a huge amount, but the doctor says it is very to have a slow and constant weigt loss than a big lost and then no lost for a while specially since I have not had a fill yet. For the lapband check ups you got to go to Oliak's office eventhought you might not see Oliak, you might get to see his assistant Allison, who is great by the way, she is also in the surgery team. And either Allison or Dr. Oliak will do the fills, unless for some weird reason they cannot find your port site then You have to go get it done under some kind of xray procedure.

  8. hello, I went to my second checkup on Tuesday and I lost 6 more pounds so 16 total sinc esurgery, and I am having my first fill on the 2nd

  9. Dr. oliak will excuse u for up to a month if you need to, the decision is entirely yours. Most people return after one week, I enjoyed the time off.

  10. hello, well I was out of work for about 2 1/2 weeks, I have not been to any support group meetings I am trying to find one closer to my house because the one at Chapman is on a Monday like at 6 and it is a little bit of a drive for me, but if I don;t find one soon I will go tho the next one at chapman.

  11. I will say it took a week for recovery, because of the gas pain, I did not really feel much pain from the surgery itself, just the gas pains from the anestesia. And to be honest I was fed up with the shakes, but other than that I felt great Thank God.

  12. Hello, I too had a lot of heartburn, I was taking prevacid once a day for it but would not help all the time, it turn out that I had a hernia which was repaired during the surgery which might had contributed to the acid reflux. but to be honest since the surgery I have not felt it eventhough I started on my soft foods. I also would constantly wake up through the night and now unless I have some kind of worry that doesnot let me sleep, I can seem to get enough sleep. I also had joint pains in my hands and my legs as well as pain on my feet.

  13. don't worry I am pretty sure it will be approved before you know it, and when you least expect it you will have a surgery date. Don't mind the messages, you said it that is what this site is for.

  14. I have lost a total of 20 pounds 10 before surgery and 10 after surgery about 1week and half. So have you heard anything from your doctors?

  15. I think I am doing great, to be honest I haven't weight myself since the surgery date I am waiting until I go to see the Dr. on Tuesday, but something amzing happen today I was able to wear a pair of jeans that I have not wear in over a year. I have tried to wear them right before my surgery when I had lost only 10 pounds but was not able to sip them up not even lying down and today they went in super easy, so tho me that is better than dropping pounds....

  16. Dr. Oliak was booked for about 3 months when I tried to schedule in June 2008, maybe it is not the case now. The Approval process was not long, I started the whole process about December 2007, and saw the Psy and Nutritionist by Feb. 2008, and once they had all the reports Pacificare approved me like in two weeks. Just that it takes a while because you have to see your PCP once a month about three times before he submits for surgery, at least tha is what I was told. Do you have HMO? because I have HMO? but maybe for PPO is different.
