I was banded for the 3rd time 4 weeks ago tomorrow, and I am still in a lot of pain. It feels like a lot of pulling and steer going from the inside. I still cannot sleep on my side, otherwise I pay for it the whole next day. Is this normal? Or has anyone else experienced this? I have had this surgery before, but i believe her repkaced my port this time ( not second surgery) and I don't remember this pain. Thanks!!!!

I unfortunately was not able to be approved for gastric sleeving. So August 10th I went in for lapband revision. They did find a hernia. So I'm crossing my fingers that was my biggest problem, and now it's solved!!!!

Mystery pain explain. I went in for lapband revision and got a new band an a surprise hiatal hernia repaired. Now time to heal!!!!
-
What does a hernia feel like!? And do you get them around where your band is placed? In having some pretty intense pain around where my band is???
-
I don't have money to self pay, otherwise that might be a consideration. And my insurance will only cover one bariatric procedure per life time. So yes 3rd band is better than no band. So let's see how this time goes. Thanks for the support.

I an def the one to blame for my first slippage. I wasn't really mentally for it. I are and for sick and repeated. So honestly I failed that band. Bit this one is totally possible that he put it in wrong.

Yes I have, I like him very much. Why do you ask?

I have had a band since oct 2008, no infection. Just slippage, again. I am going back in 2 weeks for another band. My insurance won't cover anything else :-(
-
So my plan to revise to gastric sleeve failed. My insurance will not cover more than 1 bariatric surgery in my lifetime. So another band it is.

i was 25 at my first surgery. i had lapband in 2008. it slipped by november 2010, was removed and replaced in january 2011. and here I am again with another slipped band. So along with the support of my dr i wil submit approval for a revision to the sleeve. i was 230 when i started. got down to about 140 and back up to 190......good luck, and i def dont think this is the place t be emarrased, the fact is you are doing something about it now!!!!

So I met with my surgeon and we will submit paper work tomorrow hopefully for approval of revision from band to sleeve!! And he said he would only do it in one surgery!!!!

This is my second band. First was a slippage, then re banded. This one is not correctly positioned. So surgery #4 it is. Am interested in gastric sleeve since lapband has failed me 2x.... Anyone have same issue?
-
Ncracgel did you do the sleeve?
-
I am exactly where you were at. I am meeting with my surgeon today to discuss when is the best time to have band out. And the possibilities of having gastric sleeve done. I have questioned him on this surgery before. But that was when my band was ok (or so we thought) have you hears from insurance company about covering the band.

I think I'm leaning more towards gastric sleeving I have a BMi of 35 with high blood pressure si I'm sure I still qualify. It just depends on what my doctor thinks I guess. Of which I will meet with him tomorrow

This is my first post .I originally had my first and in october 2008, it was amazing. I lost 100lbs. I went from 250 to 150 and felt great until I started to get severe acid reflux. especially at night to the point of vomitting in my sleep, and occasionally aspirating. I had my first band removed in november of 2010. there was some scar tissue so my do decided to give it a rest before replacing it. In that 2 month gap of no band i gained 30lbs just looking at food. I had my lap band #2 put in January of 2011 of which I never had any luck with. Any time I had restriction i also had reflux, therefore with no restricyion i continued to gain weight another 10lbs. Finally had a barium swallow done yesterday, and found out today that it was not positioned correctly and it needs to be removed.... so either 3rd times a charm or I will be looking into gastric sleeving.

now after 73lbs i am having some skin issues, but it is probably my fault i dont go to the gym nearly as much as i should1 but it is all worth it! i know that 10 months ago you got credit for that meeting? good luck!

if lapband is what you want then find a surgeon who is willing to help you, instead of talk you out of it! my uncle weighed 450lbs and it was the day his gb surgery was scheduled and his dr. chose to cancel his surgery, and for my uncles health reasons.. ultimately the dr. talked him into lapband.. and he is down to 250lbs.. and you would never know based on his skin that he was ever that big! hope this helps?

wow you have done a amazing job losing weight....i have a appt with Dr Fiallo in 2 weeks and after that i just need to get in my 2 support groups but there running behind with them so i am not sure if they can fit me in the month of June or not...if not that i will have to wait till July & Aug meetings ...i hope to be banded by Sept....Hope i do as well as you....You just need to remember that it is a tool, and not a quick fix! i went from a size 18 to an 8 so far! it is the best thing i ever did, and i would do it all over again in a minute! Did you see if you could go to the other support group meetings at the chestnut building? i know that those used to be acceptable?good luck with everything! if you need anything dont hesitate to contact me? i feel like a proffesional now! lol

I just have to say that i love Dr. Haag! he is the best... sometimes he seems to be in a rush, but i guess with the amount of patients that office has, what can you expect? right? I had my surgery October 2,2008 i weighted 230lbs... i now weight 157! i feel AMAZING!
