  1. Hi there old friend. I see that you met your goal. That is awesome. Take care sweetie! Just dropping in to say hi!

  2. Hey girl! I am doing pretty good. I just ran my first 3K last weekend and I think I am going to work for a 5K in September. I am running about 2 miles a day about 5 times a week or so and I hit the gym about 3-4 times a week when I'm not traveling with my job. I feel pretty good. I am still about 20 lbs up from my lowest, but I am in pretty good shape. Trying to watch my caloric intake to lose slowly instead of keeping my carbs super low. I don't think I will ever be happy until I have PS to take the extra skin off (bad apron in front IMHO) and perk the girls up. The TT is a big priority but with other things going on I just can't afford it right now. Hopefully in a year or two. I am so glad to hear things are going so well for you. Funny how the first 9 months I lived on the boards but we have all kind of found our way back into a life where the band is a part of normal living and not something to take up every last waking thought.

  3. Nikki, Thank you so much for the comment. I still find it hard to believe. Good luck with your journey. If I can do it so can you! Take care and work WITH the band, not against it. ;^)

  4. What was my diet like?

I was REALY strict with myself for the first 9 months or so. Protien first then a few veggies. I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE cottage cheese so it wasn't unusual for my meal to be a chicken breast and cottage cheese or roast beef and cottage cheese or tilapia and cottage cheese. The cottage cheese help change up the textures so I didn't have problems getting anything down. You can find a few entries in my blog about what I ate.

  5. BG - my computer crashed and I lost your blog address and email address. I am trying to get back to blogging to help me out.

Can you email me so I have your info again? - Julie

  6. Hey girl! How's it going? Talk to me! ;-)

  7. Hey BG. I have been thinking about you guys. I am not doing great. I have gained, but have lost some of it. I am still working two jobs and it has been tough of me. I see you are doing well according you your ticker! That is great! Up date me!

  8. Out of it. I have been too busy to work out and you know it must be true if I am saying it. i got a second job (working nights on the weekends) to put our daughter in a residentual Christain school and big projects at work. I am getting soft, but not too bad. I need to get back to it. Oh yeah I filed to run for City Commissioner and I am planning to start a local support group for banders....hard to believe I haven't made it to the gym uh? :)

  9. Hey that is great! Take it easy. Don't get in a hurry. Keep me updated on how you are doing. How was pre-op?

  10. Hey another Kansas girl? That is great! Good luck!!!

  11. Well I just weighed and I have gained 1 lbs in the last 2 weeks. I am pretty happy with that. I worked out yesterday and ate very well so I know I can lose a couple of lbs this week if I continue to do well. I am up about 6.5lbs from my lowest. I could be back there again by Christmas if I got with the program. I'll have to keep working. Have you made it back to the gym?

  12. If I don't eat carbs it takes about 3 days to get the cravings out of my system. The proteins help with hunger and cravings. I have been bad!

  13. Hey! No I haven't lost more. I'm sure I gained this week! My worst thing is grazing. I can't eat much if I sit down for a meal, but it is the little eating. I haven't made it to the gym this week because of everything going on. I think I am going today. I've got to motivate myself. I definately don't feel as good about myself and since my workouts have been less intense I'm not as tight and compact.

Got to get back to it. I think if I can be good the next two days and just eat protein I can get the cravings out of my system by Monday.

Thanks for checking in. Get back to the gym. I'll think of you when I'm there!

  14. Thanks for the great comments and by the way you look AMAZING too! I think that with our weight loss it will take time (and for me surgery) to LOVE my body. I guess it will have to be enough that my hubby loves my body.

  15. Hey thanks for the comments on my profile. It is amazing how you will feel a year from today....just 11 more months and you'll hit that year mark and you won't even remember what it felt like to be where you are now. Keep a blog. I love going back to remember where I came from and how hard I have worked. It is still a chore and I hope to lose more, but I am pretty happy with myself now. Keep up the great work!

  16. The fill work okay until I realize I was way too tight and needed an unfill. I am pretty happy now. Not being very strict with my diet so I'm not losing, but hold pretty steady. I need to do better. Hang in there. I know if I got back to my high protein and low carb it would melt off some more. I really need to do that. Take care and keep in touch!

  17. Thanks for the sweet comments. Good luck to you! This is a great place for support!

  18. Thanks for the pic comments! It seems weird to hear people say things like that to me, but thank you so much. Good luck with your progress!

  19. Hey! Sorry for not getting back with you sooner. I was running out of the house when I got your message. I was banded in Denver by Dr. Kirshenbaum. I am self pay and he is great for the low price of only $9950.

Things are good. I have gotten off course, but am thinking of starting a support group for weight loss in my community. I don't know if I can do it, but I'm thinking about it.

I have lost with a high protein diet, but need to get back to it. I hit the gym at least 3 tmes a week. I feel great, but want to take off another 15 lbs.

Keep in touch and keep me informed on how you are doing!

  20. Thank you for the sweet picture comment. Good luck with all!

  21. Tig, I am just checking in. How are you doing? Let us know!

  22. Thanks for the comment. My workout routine started as promising myself at least 30 minutes of cardio 3 times a week. If I did no more than that I wasn't allowed to get down on myself. I slowly started adding in weights. I would work on my abs and get a good routine for that. My cardio strarted getting boring so I would change it up with spinning and zumba. After about 8 months I had the gym make me a weight program to follow and I did that for about 8 weeks. It also got me more comfortable around more weight machines.

I have always stuck to my cardio 3 times a week, and one day I do arms, one day I do legs and one or two days a week I do my abs. I'm not hard core, but I give myself a good workout.

I started working out (again...I've started and stopped a million times before) about 6 weeks after surgery. Hard to believe it has been a year ago!

  23. Hey there. I saw your post on BandGroupie's blog. I am totally there with you. I was banded a year ago tomorrow and have been holding steady for months. I think that the next year will be slow and hopefully steady. Good luck!

  24. Hey, thanks. I would tell you to go through from the beginnng and read my blog. It really has all of my advice right there and my progress. Learn from my experience. Keep a food journal (I use www.sparkpeople.com) , High Protien Diet, Learn the difference in real hunger and head hunger. Good luck! You will do great! If I can do it you can too!

  25. I saw your loss on thread. Great job! You don't have to post it on my page. I always just my subscribed threads. It is one of my home pages.
