  1. I feel perfectly ok in saying that if a guy wants me to do anal, he has to do it too, lol.

It's interesting that since we have started this thread, an old "friend" has contacted me online again after years. Apparently he can't stop thinking about being bent over and taken. And no, this guy is not at all gay. He is a lawyer and very much a guy's guy who loves to hike, bike, and ski. It's kinda strange actually, he is completely beautiful and very normal and has a very dominant sexual relationship with his now wife.

  2. It couldn't hurt to try keeping your calories between 800 and 900 a day for a week and see how that goes!

I think my doctor recommends about this amount while you are in the active weight loss phase, and the amount increases slightly when you are in maintenance phase.

I know it sounds like soooo few calories, but it really makes you super aware of just how many empty calories you are taking in. It would be so easy for me to meet my daily calorie intake with just snacking!

Try to commit to the week challenge and see how you feel....you've come so far by getting banded, you just need to find the magic to re-start your weight loss fire.

p.s. If you are looking for a calorie buddy, hit me up cause I could totally use the support too!

  3. Yes, it could be more depending on how your aftercare is structured. I was self pay and my total was 17k. I paid the surgeon's fee (which includes 5 years of aftercare including all fills) of 7500k in cash and got an awesome low APR through Capital One Credit (I think like 3%) for the remaining hospital and anesthesia fees. My monthly payments are just over $400, and boy am I happy with my decision.

My doctor is less then half an hour away from me. This is perfect since I have been seeing him every 4 weeks for fills since the healing stage of the surgery, and he also holds weekend support groups at the hospital I was operated on each month. Another thing to find out is just who will be doing your fills. It seems that many lapbanders have their fills done by a nurse or physician assistant. I love the fact that my surgeon is the only one to fill me. Since he operated on me, he knows exactly where my port is, and hits it on the first try every time. He doesn't have to dig around to find the port and doesn't need to use fluro.

Make sure you find the right doctor for you...not just the first one that fits your budget. My doctor is with the center for excellence and has been doing lapbands since 2001. I know that he rarely takes on patients that were banded elsewhere (i.e. Mexico) and if he does, the per fill pay structure is something like $400/visit.

It is a lot of money, but it is an investment in your future and I simply was not willing to travel out of the country or to another part of the state for the surgery. Proper aftercare is vital to your success and no amount of money saved can give me the peace of mind of having my surgeon accessible and nearby.

  4. I've seen that too!

I just wonder how people think posting about how they have no cash, have a low credit score and thus can't get credit, and have no insurance will help their situation:glare: Unfortunately, there are no lapband fairies.

I've seen many lap-banders reply with really great information...particularly about how they can repair their bad credit, but the poster never seems to be happy with the answers....especially if it involves a multi year kinda plan.

I was self pay to the tune of $17k and it wasn't exactly a beeezy financial decision for my husband and me. I've also seen other lap-banders talk of how they have borrowed from their 401k or mortage to pay for their surgeries, and how it was the best decision they have made.

  5. Maybe it's just me, but it really annoys the crap out of me when pre-band people post on here complaining about how they will never get banded because they have no money, no health insurance, and no credit.

If you already know that, then why the heck post about it? You can't pay for the band with wishes and prayers.

I mean really, it's not like there are people on this board who will read the post and offer to pay for the band!!

Maybe I feel this way because I was self pay. Maybe I'm just a tiny insensitive, but there are MANY of us who found a way to pay for the band when insurance wasn't an option.

Anyone else feel this way when they see those particular posts? I think the thing that bugs me the most is when people equate physically qualifying for the band with deserving the band.

  6. After a nice dinner DH and I saw Rachel getting Married - oh dear heavens, that's time I will NEVER get back. Even DH who can sit through some of the worst movies of all time was asking if it was over yet...about every 5 minutes.

Well folks, I'm heading to the airport shortly - I will be without computer/laptop or even cell phone...by choice. I may check in once or twice...but then again, maybe not. See you all in a few weeks.

I'm leavin, on a jet plane....

Omg I am cracking up over the Rachel Getting Married comment!!! My feeling is that movie would have been 80% better with 90% less music.....I almost walked out and your comment about NEVER getting that time back is right on!!

  7. Holy cow people are doing so well!!!

My loss has been a bit slow but definately consistent. I had my 3rd fill last week...wow, it's weird to go for hours and then realize you haven't eaten....I think I must be close to my sweet spot.

Now I really have to exercise with some regularity to get the maximum band benefit.

It's really encouraging to see everyone doing so well and thanks for the continuing motivation!

  8. Anal warts can be caused by anal sex...even protected anal sex. Condoms really only cover a certain amount of area, and if you have HPV down by the base of your penis or close to your scrotum, that can definately come into contact with whomever you are having sex with.

If gone untreated or undetected, HPV can change into dysplasia which can then turn into cancer. The same can happen in a women's cervix which can also cause infertility.

This is why you should ask about getting an anal pap smear if you happen to routinely engage in receptive anal sex.

As far as I am aware, you can not get anal cancer if both you and your partner are STD free and engaging in anal sex.

  9. That'd be easy....just look for the dudes with the sore butts.

I was kinda joking about the "gay" comment, but kinda not.

Being a sex educator I get the "gay" comment A LOT when it comes to men and anal stimulation. As a matter of fact, I know several gay men who actually don't care to be anally stimulated at all.

Some people are just much more comfortable exploring that particular aspect of their sexuality. In my opinion it doesn't make it wrong, perverted or depraved.

  10. Bottom line is that anal stimulation can be very, immensely pleasurable for both women and men.

In my opinion gayness has absolutely nothing to do with it. The male p spot (prostate) can be stimulated through anal play and many men will report having orgasms unlike anything else on this world if done correctly.

In fact, I have known many men who secretly enjoy anal play. There is actually a trend in very successfull high powered men loving anal play.

Put me in a room with a bunch of doctor, lawyers, ceo's, etc and I bet I could find many of them who are into anal.

  11. The anus is filled with nerve endings and if done right, anal sex can be very enjoyable for both men and women.

Some women find anal sex is easier to handle after they have already had an orgasm and are more relaxed  There are some rules to doing it right, but most of it boils down to a patient partner, working your way up in size using fingers or toys, and lots and lots of lube.

Are you sure the jar of lube was on your girlfriends side and not her male partners' side, lol? Strap on dildo toys are some of the most purchased sex toys among hetero couples:lol:

  12. Weird fact: Gay men have lower incidences of prostate cancer due to their anal sex activity. Massaging the prostate is good for the body and decreases your risk for that type of cancer.

I have waaay too many stories about anal warts, dysplasia, and rectal cancer then I care to share. If you are concerned, please ask your doctor about getting a anal pap smear.

  13. I just found this stie and I can't believe I am going to talk about this here. I've been reading this board ever since I got my band but I am kind of shy because I have never talked about my sex life in a public place. But I guess it's okay here since nobody can see my red face!

Does anyone know, (maybe the sex educator?) why it used to be easier for me to have an orgasm? It was never really easy, but I could have them. Now, it's like I am numb or something. Things that used to work for my husband to give me one don't work anymore.

I am afraid of our sex life is going to go away because my husband is starting to have a complex about it.

Does going through the change of life mean that orgams are a thing of the past? My husband says I never needed a vibrator before, and is afraid if we get one, I won't want him anymore or something. We used to be so close, and all of this is really scaring me. I thought losing weight would help with all of this but it's made no difference other than my husbands wants to do it more, and gets upset when I can't orgasm. I really don't want to start to fake them!

Hi Daisy and welcome to the site!!

Hormones can definately affect your sex life. I know that I was hornier then I was in my teens when I hit 30 years old and remained that way for several years. You already know that you can orgasm (which is great!!) so give yourself a break. Stress can really affect our own sexual response cycle, and I can tell how tense this makes both you and your husband by reading your post. If you worry about orgasming during sex then you aren't totally enjoying the experience and it can frustrate the both of you. Not reaching orgasm can quickly lead one to think about their size, if they are attractive, if their partner still thinks they are attractive, etc. It's a pretty vicious cycle to be sure!

One thing to consider is if you are on any new medications. Some medications can make reaching orgasm difficult so you might want to check with your doctor about what meds you are on and what the potential side effects are. You might also want to talk to you hubby about your frustrations sometime when you guys are not in bed. Honest communication is amazing......who knows, he might be feeling bad about himself and doubting himself because maybe he feels you no longer find him attractive. Lastly, take a deep breath and give yourself a break. Let your mind wander and begin to fantasize. One way to spark your mind might be to read a sexy story or some erotica. One site I like a lot is literotica.com. They literally have thousands of stories and I'm sure you can find a couple to get your mind and body racing!

  14. I was wondering if there is a site, not a porn site, but a site that has something like reviews but also you can ask questions about products, videos, etc.

At the end of Feb hubby is being transferred, I am staying here since he is only getting transferred 3 hours away. He will come home on the weekends. For xmas i got him a gift that is for both of us. Today I was again shopping on adam and eve, i like how they have reviews, but i had questions about some of the items that the reviews dont answer. Some products are quite pricey, since I have questions, I don't feel comfortable spending too much money on something I'm unsure about.

www.janesguide.com is a great research for women and sex toys. There is also sexinfo101.com that has reviews too. Product suggestions are so difficult because everyone has their own personal tastes, but it's great to get an overall picture of why people love certain things!!!

I spent like 80 bucks on my rabbit and still will only use the rabbit ear clitoris part. I really don't like the way the beads feel when they spin around....It's just too harsh for me, and it's not like I would want to return it after it's been in my who-ha, lol!!

Even though I have tons of gadgets, still some of my favorite are the stripped down, no batteries required types. I have one silicon realistic type dildo named "Adam", and it has been my absolute favorite for years! I love that you can put it on a chair and then go to town!!!

  15. Hi there,

I suffer from Migraines too, and often get very nauseous when I get my headaches. My surgeon prescribed metraclopramide for post surgery nausea, but I have found that phenergan simply works better when I have a Migraine.

Talk to your doctor and make sure to have something that works for you on hand! I don't think the dry heaves hurt your band, but make sure to have something handy for the future.

  16. Thanks cattoy!

And speaking of women and self pleasure. I don't remember what the thing was called, but Howard Stern had this device that looked like the women were on a bucking bronco. The women just melted in orgasms. I looked it up online at the time and it was big money!

    Brad

Heh, me thinks the toy you are talking about is called a sybian. Very expensive, something like 1500k. A couple perverts out here in San Francisco advertise on craigslist all the time under sex partners. They own them and pay women to come over and give them private masturbation shows.

    Oregon,

Most people loooove their Hitachi Magic Wand and it goes for about 50 bucks. The purple "rock chick" has gotten pretty decent reviews....it's shaped kinda like a sideways U and it sells for around $60.
