  1. Hey everyone! Yes, the warm washcloth is a great idea My personal favorite lube is kinda hard to find, but it's called Liquid Silk. It's so good that once you use it, you will never go back to others!
  2. Hi everyone, This Monday was my one month surgery anniversary and I'm still nursing my bruises. How long did it take most of you for the bruises to finally go away? I can't wait for them to be gone:tt2:
  3. Thanks for replying eveyone.......I know that everyone has a different experience with the band, but I'm glad to know that my bigger port bruise is not that unusual. I feel much less neurotic now
  4. I have always bruuised easily and the part that remains is at the port site. I was hoping it would be gone by now, and it is definately not an infection.....just gross bruising. My other incision sites are kinda just a red welt like color.

    Diet Pills?

I am very weary of any diet pills. I tried taking them before i even decided to get the band, and the pills really messed up my blood pressure. I opted to get the band, because I was done with doing things in an unhealthy way, and really wanted to lose the extra weight once and for all. You gave yourself the gift of health when you decided to get the band. Please do not do anything that moves you back to your older unhealthy ways.
  7. Hi there,

I'm Cat or Catherine and the one who posted about Dr. Feng.

Please let me know what you decide and when your surgery is scheduled.

I also just went to my first support group this past Saturday.

    It's a wonderful thing...

Just an update on the girls: I'm down 16 pounds! My bra's are finally fitting me muuuuch better and I haven't noticed much sagging yet....woot....thank god for small miracles!
  9. Darling you look amazing!

I'm sorry you didn't make your goal, but you look simply fabulous!

  10. I'm totally interested in attending the conferene....It would be great to finally meet some of my amazing lapbandtalk friends in person I'm in California, and would love to see something closer to home, but would not mind flying to the conference....of course, I would probably prefer NYC to New Jersey then, but it's all very doable if I have enough time to get a decent priced ticket Please keep me posted!

    First fill and Thanksgiving?

Anne, Thanks for posting....I think we must be scheduled for our fill on the same day, 11/24/08. This saves me the trouble of having to ask the questions

    Excellent Article on Lapband Fills

This is a great resource!! Thanks for posting
  13. I paid my surgeon $7500 for his 5 year plan, so that means free fills and office visits for those 5 years. After that, i believe its just the fill cost of $150/per adjustment.
  14. Haha Jen I love this thread (as I guess all scale-a-holics would) Thanks for posting and making my day!
  15. I'm totally interested in attending the conference. I am from California and would obviously prefere something closer to here, but would look into the east coast too!
  16. :tt1: OMG I did the same thing!!! They were so so so horrible I literally had to throw them away.....what a gigantic waste of time and money (I ordered them through the manufacturing website)
  17. My favorite site is BariatricEating.com - BE, Inc. The number one bariatric website for protein, vitamins, and success.! The woman who runs the site is amazing and had the RNY surgery like 7 years ago. She only stocks the best tasting ready to drink (RTD) protein drinks along with other best tasting protein powder. You can get sampler packs too. I just placed a second big order this weekend and can't wait for my delivery.
  18. Hi Mom,

Can you believe your surgery is tomorrow!!!

    Adorable baby btw :)

In less then a month you are going to feel great!

    Take care,

    Your friend

    Cat (meow)

  19. Hi Jorja,

    Congrats on tomorrow!!!!

You made it, and in a few weeks, you are going to feel great!

    Your friend,

    Cat (meow)

  20. I'd also love your food journal link :)

  21. Hi Lulu,

I'm relieved to hear that you put on weight after you got married too! I seriously put on about 100 pounds and could hardly believe it myself....I was always steady around 125, and I thought I'd be that way forever.....so wrong I was :(

Love to talk more in the future!

It sounds like you did a great job kicking ass with the band.

    For those with BMI 35-40?

Omg I totally know what you mean when you say people don't realize you are around 100 pounds overweight! Me too, and no one ever believes me (which is one of the ways I was deluded into believing my problem wasn't so bad for such a long time!) We can and WILL get there!
  23. The $9500k hospital fee was out of pocket and they usually change the insurance companies around 30k for an out-patient procedure. I have no idea why there is such a dramatic self pay difference for people getting the band in the United States.....Cost of living doesn't cost double the amount from state to state....weird. All I know is that I am grateful to have the means (and a great APR through Capital One, lol) to afford the surgery.....it truly has been an amazing ride so far.
  24. I'm doing well! I can't believe it's been a month, and I finally had my first sliming incident, lol.

How is your recovery going? Where are you even located? I'm in the bay area about 1 south of San Francisco :)

Are you on instant messenger much?

    Is there a correlation?

Hey again snorkel, we are banded sisters since our operation dates were 10/13/08! My first fill isn't until 11/24.08, and I'm really curious about this question too. Let me know what your doctor says if you get filled before me please.
