freedom did you find any good recipes on the web sites i gave you? called the drs. office today. they said that they had all of my paper work together and put it in the "basket" for the dr. to read over and to determine if i'm eligible for surgery. i don't know how many are ahead of me. this waiting is getting on my nerves. i hate to wait for things. i want to get them over with. i think when i go in for surgery, they are going to have to give me something to take. maybe the morning before i get there. i'm such a chicken. i've had multiple surgeries before, but i got scared with each one.

hey lapbandnana i know what you felt like about the belt on the air plane. i had to ask for an extension once and i was so embarrassed. i felt like everyone was looking at me. i wanted to just hide my face.

hey freedom here are some sites i have gone to for recipes: calorieking.com realizeband.com kraftfoods.com obesityhelp.com tasteofhome.com safeway.com sparkpeople.com fit365bariatric.com/recipes i just went in on google and other searches and typed in receipes for bariatric diets,low carb diets,and high Protein diets. i came up with a lot of searches. haven't viewed them all. some of the sites want you to join but i didn't. i just clicked on recipes. hope you find some you like. you can also go on other forums. a lot of people post receipes there too.

[/url] hey freedom i keep telling myself to think about what i will look like a year from now. when i got married in 1970 i weighed 100lbs. now i weigh 209. the bad thing is that i am only 4foot 9inches. gotta get back there. i am on a bag full of medications. wish my husband were here to help me get through all of this . guess i'll have to rely on my family and you guys to help me through it. this site has helped me a lot. i appreciate all you guys.

[/url] hey phyllser and bochs!! thanks for the pep talk. i needed it. i am a type A personality. i worry about everything. i am a stresser. the doctor said i need to learn how to chill . ha ha i think i can handle the lap band surgery okay, i just don't want to be cut on. maybe i'll be lucky and i won't have to be. need to pray a lot. i also have a fear of being put to sleep and not waking up. i guess as one of my sons say, if it's not my time then i won't go. i know, i have issues!!! i need to stay on this site where everything is positive and stay off the others.

i am getting very nervous!!!! i was on another site and a lady said she had to have an open incision with her lap band because of some scarring from previous surgerious. i also have some scarring. i absolutely do not want an open incision!!!! i guess i will have to wait and see what the doctor says.

hey bubba i am new to this too. have been reading a lot of sites. trying to get a feel for whats to come. i have all of my paper work in and they are getting it ready for the doctor. what kinds of surgeries did you have to make them do an open incision on you. i have a scar from my belly button down and a scar from my side and curved up (from gall bladder surgery) i sure don't want an open incision. i've had enough of them. now i'm getting nervous. i guess i'll have to wait and see what the doctor says.

hey indiogirl55 been over at some other sites getting some receipes. they have some pretty good ones. are the sites that have animations that you can download "safe" my son throws a fit when i down load things, he always thinks its going to mess up my computer

hey indiago even though i am scared to have surgery (when i had surgery once they told me that they had a hard time waking me up) it helps having you guys here and hearing all of your encouraging stories. i am just petrified of being put to sleep even though i have had about 6 surgeries. i guess i just have to trust the guy above and believe everything will be okay

i also am a widow. it will be 4 years in April. we were high school sweethearts. im glad i found this site too. all i have at home to support me is my 10 cats. ha ha my sons support me also. i am just waiting for the doctor to review my papers and get an appointment with him. my regular doctor told me that if i did'nt get this done, he gives me 10 years to live. that certainly made me want to get it done. my husband always worried about my weight for my health and i know that if he were here he would encourage me to get it done.

hey jbflorida vertically challenged!! i used to be 4ft 11. i have shrunk over the years. hope i don't shrink anymore!!!! i got tired of buying petite length pants and still having to cut off 4-5 inches. i started buying capris and they fit me perfect in the length. no more hemming!!! i sure hope i can get my surgery before too long. i'm getting nervous.

hey maggies i have all of my paper work in. she is getting it ready for the doctor. i've only had the psych done. they said that when i go to the doctor visit they will send me to do the other tests. they said it would be an all day thing. when i have mine done it will be in st. louis.

hey desdemona thanks for the advice. i love just about all the songs from the 50s 60's 70's my favorite is Bobby Vee. i go to see him every year with my mom and sister. he performs in Branson, Mo. with Fabian, Brian Hyland, Chris Montez, and the Chiffons (only one left, she sings with her daughter and niece) we are always sitting in the center-front row-center. it is a great show. Bobby Vee calls us his backup singers. he is really a nice guy. they all are. they come out after the show to take pictures and sign autographs.

i must be the shortest one on here. i am 4 foot 9. if i could stretch my body i would be thinner. ha ha that ain't gonna happen. when i was younger i would have my brothers and sisters grab my arms and legs and pull to try and stretch them. didn't help. :sad:

hey indiago haven't seen the doctor yet. they are getting my paper work ready for him. they called me yesterday and said they needed a paper saying they could contact my regular doctor. i know i sent them one but they said they didn't have it. they are sending me another one. i have all my paper work in except for the one above, i've seen the psych doctor and I am waiting for the next step. i just want to get this over with. what is your receipe for your homemade chicken broth.

hey denise and indiago, i am really tired!!! tonight was my second night of walking laps and i did one mile. can you guys give me any tips on good tasting things i can buy for when i start my 2 week liquid diet. i am dreading it :sad:
