Good Luck to you. I am still waiting insurance approval so am not yet banded, but I can't wait. I have also tried to do the preop liquid diet just to get used to it. It hasn't been that bad. So that is a good idea to start on protein shakes and cutting carbs.

I don't have a date yet, waiting insurance approval...But as soon as I know I will be shouting it out..

I have been trying to do this as well. I am still waiting for insurance approval, but I am trying the preop diet just to see if I can do the liquid diet and also I figure to lose some weight as well. I did good all last week monday thru friday and then over the weekend it was a little rough. But tomorrow is monday and I am back to the preop diet again.

I can relate to everything you have said. I am not yet banded but can't wait until I can live a normal life too. You have taken the first step and now it is just a matter of time. You will be getting healthier and smaller by the day. Good Luck to you!!!

I am not banded yet but been trying the preop liquid diet just to see if I could do it and have found that the EAS carb Advantage is the best shake out there.

Yes I feel the same way. I actually feel obssessed with this surgery. I still don't have approval from my insurance, I am waiting for the psych eval next week. But I feel like this is all I think about. I am constantly on this forum just reading and reading and reading about it. Then I go back to my doctors website and read it again just in case I missed something. I can't wait!!!

Just wondering if anyone used or is using Dr. McDaniel at Citizens Bariatric in Victoria Texas? Just wanted a little insight on him. Also was wondering what his Pre-op diet consisted of? Any information would be helpful. I am still in the process of getting insurance approval..

Wow, that is great you got your surgery date. Congratulations and Good Luck to you!! I can't wait until I get my surgery approved by my insurance. Been doing the 6 month supervised dr visits and waiting for my psych eval next week, then they can submit to my insurance. My fingers are crossed.

I have BCBS of Georgia and was told I have to do the 6 months of supervised doctor visits to monitor my weight and diet/exercise. Then I have to do a group therapy session and an individual counseling session. I have that scheduled for next week. When that is complete the Doctor submits to the insurance and I will see what happens. I will keep you posted on what their response is.. Good Luck to you.

I am just wondering what the bariatric conseling session is all about? I have to do an individual and a group session with a psychiatrist. Just wondering what to expect? :biggrin:
