New guy getting the band for xmas

Welcome again Duce! Definately check out the monthly support group for December. My surgery was in April and it's great to be in contact with those that had surgery around the same time as you.

Thanks BG! Yes I think I need a slight fill my meals are getting bigger and I'm getting really bad bedtime hunger. My evening protein shake took care of that now it doesn't.

Well I saw my surgeon the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and he wanted me to come in for a fill 3 - 4 weeks from then. That would have put me right before Christmas so I asked if I could do it after that and he ordered if for "after X-mas". Well I called today to make the appointment, finally remembered, and he's out the 2 weeks after Christmas. I can't get an appointment till 1/12/10 because he's out of town 2 weeks after Christmas.

    Looking for motivation!

Bigrick sorry to hear your not feeling it, you've been one of the more informative and positive people on the board. Remember why you did this in the begining and how far you've gone since then. I see you haven't updated your weight tracker for awhile maybe starting there would help get your stats caught up look at how well you've done. I know we did this to end the "diet rollercoaster" but find a program that may get you started back on track I had a lot of success with the 50 Million Pound Challange The 50 Million Pound Challenge while trying to lose my pre op weight. Good luck!!

    Friday Weigh Ins

I'm at 235 this morning which I'm happy with considering all the fluids that got pumped into me last Friday. I've also been pretty seditary this week and we've been eating cookies (I know I had sweets mostly out of my diet). Things are getting back to normal Kirk goes back on the road today, I see my doctor on Tuesday and plan to be back to work Wednesday or Thursday.

    Realize band vs. Lap band

    Sounds like him doesn't it.........
  16. I got the regular flu shot, I don't think you can get the H1N1 shot if you had the regular. I got sick a couple weeks before my surgery like another poster I went to my GP and got antibiotics and alergy medication it worked and I had my surgery on schedule.

I was doing an egg everyday till my last fill then eating to early in the morning became difficult for me so I usually have a protein shake instead of food. I sometimes have an egg later in the morning though or at dinner....love a egg over easy on top of a blackbean burger with a bit of lowfat cheese and some salsa...... I'd be intrested in hearing about other foods that give him issues. Thanks JT

I'm home things goiing well so far not in much pain at this time they gave me a percaset in the recovery room I'm not sure if it's still working on me or if the pain is just low. I wias I could claim the weight they had for me a the hospital this monring it was 230 in sweats.....that would put me really close to my FIRST goal of 220. Biggest disappointment is 4 more incisions not sure how big they are yet. Jerseygirl sorry to hear about your DMIL our thoughts are with you.

I know the progress we made is good, I wasn't expecting 100 pounds since surgery but was still feeling the need to put somethings in perspective.

Dang I was half way through this and lost it......... This is a little prospective for me (sefl therapy if you will) I know we aren't suppose to rely on numbers only but I was a bit disappointed that the scale didn't move on the 10/30 Fridaya weigh. I've been feeling fat this last week and seems like I was constatnly snacking. Weight Trackers: I had my consultation with the surgeon on 10/08/08 almost 13 months ago. The weight tracker I post here is from that date; according to this tracker as of yesterday (actually the week before) I've lost 89lbs this would include 40 the 6 months before my surgery Oct08 to Apr09, I've lost 49lbs since my surgery Apr09 to Oct09. My 50 Million Pounds weight tracker shows that I didn't actually get serious about losing weight per surgery till around 2/13/09 between my consultation and Feb09 I only lost 8lbs............sooooo most of my weight lost is since Feb09. OK that being said (if you understood it) was for no other purpose then for me to write out some thoughts and put myself back in perspective after a dishartening week. Thanks for reading sorry if you expected some great advise or intresting tip or hint like I said I just needed to put this down for me.
