  1. Hello everyone !
Had my surgery yesterday. I am doing good. Except for gas pains. No other pain. So far so good. Gas is really bothersome though. I am doing a lot more walking today. It’s 4 am and I am up and walking. When will this gas pain be gone 🤔. I have been having only Water since yesterday. Today I plan to try some clear Protein . This was my first surgery. funny thing was I remember rolling into the operating room and then the next thing was in the recovery. I thought for a min the surgery was not done or something and I was reaching for my stomach to check 😂. After a while I asked nurse if it was done. She said Ofcourse honey 😅

One bottle has 34g of sugar. Go figure. Must be some of the newer research. But follow your nutritionist guidelines. If allowed I say go for it. I didn't start eating the SF pops till post op but I still love them. Especially the tropical flavors.

    Good luck tomorrow!!!!

wow thats something new I heard. you are right, its interesting . I will never understand why there are so many diff pre and post op guidelines .

Thank you for the wishes. my first surgery ever. SOOO nervous but looking forward to living a better life with less health issues.

  3. These are instructions I was given:

2 days prior to surgery, start the following:
    • LIQUIDS ONLY (Premier Protein Shakes for Breakfast, lunch, and dinner). No solid food and no Snacks during these 2 days. Your stomach needs to be emptied of food particles by the time of surgery. Make sure to drink plenty of Water during these 2 days, so that you arrive on your surgery day well hydrated.
    • NO SNACKING in between meals. However, you may have zero-calorie liquids in between meals such as water, Crystal Light, sugar-free Jello, sugar-free popsicles.
    • DIABETIC PATIENTS may need to lower their medications during these 2 days to avoid hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
    • If you eat any solid food during the 2 days prior to surgery, you operation will be cancelled.

Good luck! Mine was 6/7. Doing ok. Didn't have to use pain meds after surgery. Did need nausea meds, and still need those sometimes. Having an issue with being backed up now, and that is making me miserable. Been back to work since Monday. Y'all can do it!

Thank You Brandiwine77. Hope you feel better soon.. I am sure your medical team will have something for it? are you able to meet your liquid goals?

It gets better is what I heard.

  5. I am with Kaiser Socal too. my surgery is tentatively scheduled for June 19th. I have to meet the surgeon on June06. I have not reached the target weight goal he had asked me to reach. so not sure if my surgery will get postponed. fingers crossed. I loved the Options classes too. I took it last year. Good luck on your journey!.
