So since losing 65 pounds since surgery Sept 13 2022, people say you lost weight? Then if I say, yes I had sleeve surgery, they say stupid $h!t like, you could have lost it without having surgery…Well, if that was the case would I have been overweight for 18 years out of 36? Or you didn’t really need surgery… 🙄 Tell that to the three bottles of pressure pills, I was on and my blood pressure was still too high!
I don’t understand why people feel it’s their right to tell you their stance on YOUR body and YOUR health??! But, I don’t see a lot of judgement from people in my community when women go get bbl’s and Lipo. People REALLY think that they know what it’s like to be obese. They act like I cheated. My daughter who is 18, (away at school), said but you kinda did cheat! I said how is being nauseous every other day, taking Vitamins, not being able to eat anything I want and working out cheating? I said it was just a kickstart. She said well, she never really thought of it that way.
I think people think you go get bariatric surgery because they are lazy and want an easy way out. There is no easy way out of obesity. The surgery doesn’t change your mindset. You still battle with food at times. It’s like I want to do something to inform people that, just because your obese, that doesn’t mean your lazy. If you were dying and the doctors do a surgery to save your heart or kidneys, then does that mean you cheated? Bariatric surgery CAN and HAS saved peoples lives. Including mine! Why is it still such a stigma around it?!

I think it's normal! I made sure to eat most of my faves that last week!
That's a great plan. It's crazy how much they can differ. I have also been surprised how well it's going for me. I'm on Day 15 of 28 now. I'm not missing anything, but I am sick of some of the VLCD products we have 3 times a day. I've ordered 3 boxes of my fave Soups to get me through. I usually have a bar and 2 soups a day plus my allowed veg.
I'm starting to think ahead to the first 2 weeks post op too. I might make my own broth soon and freeze it. Surgery is exactly 2 weeks away for me now. 😊
I'm so excited for us all. 🥰

    Hello everyone!
I will be starting my pre-op diet next week and since getting my surgery date I feel like I can't stop eating. Did anyone else go through this or is going through this now? I have already cut the sodas and my beloved Starbucks, but I feel like I am compensating with eating more.

Oh, man! YES! I gained 15lbs from the time I started this process until my preop diet... 3.5 months. I couldn't get enough food. Something in me snapped. I'm now a week into my pre-op diet and those thoughts and feeling have settled down a lot. I still miss food sometimes, but not at the levels it was at. I am getting tired of shakes though and that's causing other issues, but I'm working through it. Best advice. A solid support system; on here and around you at home. I've talked to several friends I know personally, who have had bariatric surgery, and it helps a lot. My husband is my biggest supporter. I don't think I could do with with out him or my faith. Good luck to you. You got this.

Congrats to all that have met your goals and received date for surgery. I finally obtained surgery on April 11 2023 after a 5 year struggle. I have to say the surgery is not as bad as I thought it would be as far as pain. I chose the Sleeve and the procedure took about 1 hour and 15 minutes. My pain was never over a 3 and I felt great right afterwards. I was able to walk over a mile in the hallway the night of surgery. That is one thing I will suggest to all getting the surgery. Get up and walk as often as you can after surgery. It really has made my recovery so much easier Once I went home I was walking 3 to 4 miles a day with no issues. I wish you all luck and great overall health improvement in your journey.

I feel the same way. All the unknowns are pretty worrisome. I'm trying to approach it one day and one phase at a time. I'm sure we'll get the hang of it.

Lindsay your preop diet looks good and quite reasonable, I'd love some Protein
LittleRouxenyhood, good luck on your liquid diet! I think liquid only would be hard, but it's only temporary thankfully.
