Hey guys: I have not been myself the last several weeks and the PC doc was really no help. I just do not have the energy to exercise or to do really anything. This weekend, I pretty much stayed in bed. And it is not the flu or a cold. Tomorrow I go see the gynecologist to test what levels my hormones are at. I am thinking menopause because I am not a spring chicken any more. :tt1: All I know, is that I just don't feel energized. I feel like a zombie. But I am not cold/flu sick. Not sure how else to describe it other than I feel lifeless.

Update: I am now feeling really physically drained. I am tired and have no energy. I have not been able to exercise for three days now. I am having trouble sleeping at night. I am having dizzy spells and it's not because I met prince charming. I am irritable and my joints ache and I am sore all over. I did go see the PC and he thought it was because of my increased level of activity at least the intensity of my activity. I am waiting for my thyroid test results to come back. Anyway, I see me gynecologist tomorrow morning. I am no spring chicken any more ladies and will be 45 this year.:willy_nilly: Although I had a hysterectomy in 1996, my ovaries were left so I would not have to take synthetic hormonal therapy. I am thinking maybe Menopause :scared2::tt1::scared2:. Anyway, I know what tests I want her to run, so I will let you know what happens. All I can tell you is that I lost my zell for life. I feel depleted, as thought my life-source is gone. Thanks for your feedback!

I think it is normal to feel tired 4-weeks post op. Your body has gone through surgery and is adjusted to fewer calories. Recovery takes time. I would ask my doctor to check my Vitamin levels to see if there are any deficiencies. I would also check hormone levels too. See if your doctor wants you to take vitamin b12 under the tongue. It might help with energy. Take care.

Not feeling good on pre op
TQUAD64 replied to DannyLu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, I had the same problem too during the pre-op diet. I was consuming less calories than what I was use to. I didn't tell me doctor about it, I just dealt with it at work. Talk tou your doctor. Tell him about your concerns especially, since you are taking care ot two small children. Maybe the doctor might modify your diet. -
PLEASE help me and my relationship with the scale!
TQUAD64 replied to coloradobanding's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't see anything wrong with weighing yourself every day. I do this every morning. The thing is that I let the number go. I don't let what the scale reflects ruin my day. If your weighing yourself daily and it is making you feel bad about yourself, then put the scale in a place that is out of eye-sight. Personally, I am more interested in how lose my clothes feel on me and how many inches I am losing too. When my clothes feel baggy that just brightens up my day more so than what any number on the scale projects. -
LOL!!!!! Love it.

Would you go to a doctor who . . . ?
TQUAD64 replied to marathonmommy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I remember this thread well. I was a little bit shocked by some of the comments stated and felt bad for you Jachut. I always value your opinions. I might not agree all the time, but non-the-less I enjoy your perspective. I believe we can all offer some valuable insight to those on this forum. Of course were not all going to agree with each other, but we can choose to respect the opinions of other without trying to behead them for a comment. Agree to disagree. Anyway, marathonmom, take what you learn hear with a grain of salt. Do your own research on this doctor. Find out their stats for the banding procedure. Talk to other patients who have had this doctor perform this procedure. Check their licensing with the medical board. Any reported issues to the medical board??? Good luck! -
Would you go to a doctor who . . . ?
TQUAD64 replied to marathonmommy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, and I did, but only with a seasoned doctor with them in the OR. My doctor had did around 30 of the procedures prior to me. I had a choice of another doctor as well, but the other doctor was going to be in the surgery room with my doctor, so I said okay. Plus, there was a proctor form LapBand in the OR as well. Actually, there were several people in the OR observing and assisting. Good luck with your decision. -
I know the insurance process can be very frustrating. It seems to appear that they purposely create these delays via one test after one test. However, the tests are an important process to insure thay you have the best out comes during your surgery and post-after care. The great news is that you have insurance and more than likely you will be approved. Although the wait is maddening, it is well worth it. It took me 11 months to complete all the requirements of my insurance, which was Blue Shield. You will get there and it will be well worth your efforts. Good luck!

I am wonderinf the same thing??? They state there is new DNA evidence that links the killer to this case, but her body was found 1-year after she went missing and it was in a park, so I am not sure what type of evidence they found that would not have been compromised by the weather (snow and rain).

I had thought that too. Just odd timing thath the affair occured and then her murder, which really made me question is his role.

Low BMI desperately seeking surgeon
TQUAD64 replied to middlegirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your BMI is not high enough and I really don't think a doctor in the states would go against the recommended guidlines. Not sure about Mexico???? -
Once a day, morning only. Really, who has time to weigh more than that???

Totally agree with this statement.

11yr old boy murders dads pregnant girlfriend
TQUAD64 replied to smsmithart's topic in Rants & Raves
This is a crazy sad story. How on earth would a child get the mind set to take another life, actually two lives, since the woman was pregnant with his half sibling. I read in the paper that this kid had a gun that was made for a kid. I am sure his dad took him hunting and stuff, but man this is just a bizarre sad story. :-( -
what to tell people at work
TQUAD64 replied to dbeers's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Let me be clear on this topic; if after you have asked that a fellow co-worker not disclose your HIPPA protected medical information and the co-worker continues to do so, it is grounds for administrative action. An employee can file an action with the HR Department regarding their concerns pertaining to their medical information. HIPPA and an employees right to protect their medical information is very serious. An employee who releases medical information regarding another employee could face administrative action and/or dismissal. I encourage anyone to further discuss this topic with their HR Department. -
what to tell people at work
TQUAD64 replied to dbeers's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your medical information is confidential and private under HIPPA laws. You do not need disclose any detail of any medical procedure/issues if you don't want too. You might qualify for FMLA, which is another law designed to protect employees from a medical issue, while working. Below is a link to the Department of Labor and FMLA. Your HR Manager will have more information about FMLA too! U.S. Department of Labor - Employment Standards Administration (ESA) - Wage and Hour Division (WHD) - Family and Medical Leave Act If you plan to utilize sick time for more than three days, then more than likely you will need to bring a doctor's note stating you were under a doctor's care and you are able to return to work. The note does not provide information about your medical information. Many employers have policies regarding the use of sick time, so you will also want to check with your HR Manager. Personally, I took vacation time, so I did not have to explain to anyone why I would be out of the office for several days. My employer does not know I had surgery and they do not know any of my medical information. I did complete an FMLA request, which my doctor signed. This allows me to attend all my aftercare procedures, which are monthly. When my doctor completed the FMLA form, I requested that she not utilize any identifying language, such as "Bariatric Center" which would disclose my medical information. I don't believe it is appropriate to share personal information of any kind with your co-workers and employers, as they are not my family and do not need to be privy to any such information. As an employee, I am paid to work not socialize. Thus, I do not share my personal info. But that is just me and you will decide what is best for you. :-) -
