Chris and Patsy - Welcome! I get the hiccups on a regular basis. Almost always about 5-10 minutes after I eat. I know if I get them while I am still shoveling food in that I have eaten about 5 minutes worth of food too much. :nervous Sometimes I even get the hiccups when I drink too much Water at once. They only last a couple of minutes at the most and they aren't very bad but, I'm actually glad I get them because they are my STOP SIGN!

Hi All, I did pretty well eating this weekend. I made pretty good choices, chewed well and ate slowly and......I still gained 2 pounds. Oh well! I have been debating whether or not to schedule another fill and, my weight gain this weekend decided it for me. My doctor is out of the country right now so I am scheduled for Aug. 11. I still have restriction but, I am noticing that I can eat more and definately don't stay full as long. I'm still paranoid about getting too much of a fill and becoming too tight. I like the fact that I can eat just about any food right now just not nearly as much of it as I used to. I'm thinking about changing my September challenge goal to 250 by my b-day which is 9/15. By the way, 3Loves, your kids are adorable. I saw the pictures you posted on Amy's thread. Oh, I almost forgot, welcome the gang Barbara!

    Bathroom Scale?

Costo carries a Weight Watchers scale that goes up to 400 pounds. I think it costs about $30.

Hi All, Here is my Challenge update: Start 276 / C 266 / G 255 (-10 so far, -2 this week) I am closing in on -50. Hopefully, I will not gain this weekend. I have been gaining 2-3 pounds every weekend for the last month or so. Brenda - Congratulations on the NSV and SV! I think the last time I owned a belt was maybe highschool. Kim - To answer your question about the Water from a few posts ago, I have moved up from 6 to 8 cups of water a day. I'm not a slow sipper throughout the day. I tend to get down 4 cups in the morning during aerobics, then another 4 cups in the afternoon between my snack and dinner, and, lately, I sometimes get in another 1-2 cups at night before bed. I havn't really noticed a difference in the weight loss with regard to how much water I drink. I will say that water is about the only thing I drink these days! I see we have the same goal on Funny's Christmas thread. I would really love to see 220 by then. I think that is a pretty realistic goal for us! Janey - How's it going? Hippo's Hope - How are you doing since your last fill? You havn't posted in a while and I've been wondering. Well, I'm off to water aerobics. Have a great day everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Janey, I can understand how frustrated you are. It is really difficult to work so hard and not see results. I would second what 3Loves said and suggest that maybe you need more calories. Have you seen nutritionist? A visit to one might be in order or, maybe you should talk to your band doc or even your primary care doc. I don't know if Fitday has this option, but, on sparkpeople.com, you can enter a date that you want to be at your goal weight and, based on the answers to some questions about your eating and exercise habbits, it can calculate how many calories you should be eating per day (as well as how many you need to be burning each week) to reach that goal. I gave myself until November 1 of '07 to lose the hundred or so pounds I have left to lose and it calculated my minimum calorie intake at about 1800. Now, I am usually between 1200-1500 per day (although I did manage to put away over 3000 at a party last Friday-OMG). When I am consistently fall below 1000 - 1100 calories per day, I do the up/down thing like you are doing and seem to maintain over the long run. It's exciting when you are doing the losing, but oh-so-discouraging when you are gaining! Anyway, good luck working this whole thing out! I know you will. We are all still so new to this process. Oh, I just thought of something else. Dr. C our resident banded doctor might be able to offer some advice if you post a question to her on the Lap Band Complications Forum. She even had her nutritionist respond to one of the posters. I'm not sure, but I think her nutritionist might be banded as well.

Kim - Happy belated birthday!!!!!!!!!! Drewslou - I have been vascillating since the weekend whether or not to call my doctor to schedule another fill. I actually saw him last Wednesday and didn't feel like I needed a fill. I swear, by Thursday morning, I noticed less restriction. I am still undecided. I don't want to get too tight but, I still want to utilize the band. I do pretty well during the week, but, I am definately struggling on the weekends. Even when I make good food choices on the weekend, I still seem to be up a pound or two by Monday morning. I don't exercise on the weekends, but, I do it faithfully during the week so, I just don't know. I have also realized that I tend to take in more calories on the weekend expecialy since we are frequently in social situations where food is involved. I have definately figured out how two eat around the band in those situations and am working on a strategedy for that. Ok, so, I guess maybe I don't need a fill, I just need to follow the rules a little more on the weekend. I'm not even sure if I should post my little dialogue here. Oh well, either way, keep us posted on how you're doing Drewslou!!!!!!!!!!

    Chest pain

Chirodana, You should definately get the pain checked out. Chances are it's nothing life-threatening, but, you'll feel much better once you see/talk to a doctor. Just to set the record straight, it actually could be your gallbladder. Gallbladder pain often feels like it goes straight through the middle of your chest to your back. I mentioned it because weight loss can often be followed by gallbladder problems.

If you still have one, iit could be your gallbladder. That is where the pain usually is.

    One-derland! Need new shorts!

Hey Stitchy - Congratulations on onderland! I was in the same boat as you. None of my clothes fit very well and i didn't want to buy new ones this summer. I finally had to buy some clothes this weekend. I was in definate need of a bra. The "girls" were permanently visiting my bellybutton. I was amazed at the difference just a well fitting bra made. When I got a couple of pairs of pants and shirts, my husband and a few friends who saw me said the more fitted clothes make a huge difference and they could really tell how much weight I have lost. Actually, for the first time since my surgery, I could tell my body is smaller as well.

Pumpkin pie filling made with the splenda/sugar mixture and no crust will definately be on my menue. It tastes as good as the original recipe! You can cook it up in several small custard dishes and they are ready to serve!

    Christmas Lovers Thread

The Christmas season is also my favorite time of year. I love the weather, the lights, the festive mood, the religious meaning......all of it. So, how could I not join in! Here are my stats: LindaV: J 269/C 269/G 220 If I can be at 220 by Christmas, I think I might be able to ski by the end of the season. Sitting in the lodge for the last two winters while my son hit the slopes is what started me thinking about WLS and eventually lead me to the Lap Band!
