Hello my name is Tiffany. I am new here. I finally got my surgery date. June 12th. I am so excited and nervous at the same time.

One week out of gastric bypass surgery, I was a bit down. Tired, sore... so decided to watch something to lift my mood on TV. What normally would make me smile, chuckle or laugh wasn't happening. I thought. Oh no! Have I lost my sense of humor already with all of the hormonal changes happening? Shirley not

I understand I haven't even had my surgery yet, and I'm on my strict liquids right now and this is the hardest thing i ever had to do, my son-in-law was in the kitchen cooking two ribeye steaks and I was like my God I could lick the air and I had to go in my room and put a mask on to keep from smelling the steaks, I made my grandchildren sloppy joes it took everything in my power not to just go up in there and just eat it out the pan, so I understand those Temptations are so hard but I fault through it fight through it, as mentioned above in another comment you're not the only. My Birthday was 2 days ago and I was drinking on chicken broth and Protein Shakes, as bad as I wanted to break and have me some wings and fries. You're not alone, sorry for the long post.

You’ve got this. I originally thought this surgery was barbaric and here I had it done yesterday. It went well. It wasn’t bad at all. It was like I blinked my eyes and it was done and I was in my room. I did it for health reasons. I take 4-5 insulin shots a day. I have a CPAP macine and so many other things. I gotta tell you girl I’m in no pain, have no hunger, and walking with no assistance. It’s unbelievable! Do I still think it’s barbaric—-NO WAY!

I am now 9 days post surgery. I've been lucky enough not to have experienced pain and to have had a relatively smooth journey so far. I've started to drive now which feels comfortable and and I'm moving around quite easily. I am however moving quite deliberately and taking it slowly still no matter how well I feel i have to remind myself i have had major surgery. I am a little tired come evening - I am pacing myself in place of pushing myself. I have 5 incisions which are now itchy owing to the healing. I'd love to get back into the pool but will give it a few weeks more - ill speak to my surgical team first. Thinking about you guys who have had a rough time - hang in there - it will pass xx

I’m home from my surgery I had on june 7th. I’m a little tender and sore but doing good so far. Hope I can keep track of all that I must do. One ounce of liquid every fifteen minutes. It wasn’t as bad as I thought. I can’t believe I did it! I have five incisions

Two days post op and woke up in a lot of pain… still have a lot of gas in me. Being discharged today. Going to miss the good painkillers. Hope everyone is feeling better.

So since losing 65 pounds since surgery Sept 13 2022, people say you lost weight?Then if I say, yes I had sleeve surgery, they say stupid $h!t like, you could have lost it without having surgery…Well, if that was the case would I have been overweight for 18 years out of 36? Or you didn’t really need surgery… 🙄 Tell that to the three bottles of pressure pills, I was on and my blood pressure was still too high!
I don’t understand why people feel it’s their right to tell you their stance on YOUR body and YOUR health??! But, I don’t see a lot of judgement from people in my community when women go get bbl’s and Lipo. People REALLY think that they know what it’s like to be obese. They act like I cheated. My daughter who is 18, (away at school), said but you kinda did cheat! I said how is being nauseous every other day, taking Vitamins, not being able to eat anything I want and working out cheating? I said it was just a kickstart. She said well, she never really thought of it that way.
I think people think you go get bariatric surgery because they are lazy and want an easy way out. There is no easy way out of obesity. The surgery doesn’t change your mindset. You still battle with food at times. It’s like I want to do something to inform people that, just because your obese, that doesn’t mean your lazy. If you were dying and the doctors do a surgery to save your heart or kidneys, then does that mean you cheated? Bariatric surgery CAN and HAS saved peoples lives. Including mine! Why is it still such a stigma around it?!

Good morning, I had my gastric bypass on March 7th, I had a hiatal hernia also. My surgeon did both in same operation. My hernia was also big it was the second time I had a hernia repair with WLS. First time was in 2009 when I had a gastric band it was also done in same surgery. Ask your surgeon why he wants to do it in two surgeries. Good luck

I have a date of June 17 for a Lap Band Revision to a Sleeve with Dr Alvarez at EndoBariatics. 3 weeks from today!

Starting on the 29 of May I'm allowed 4 ozs of Protein 2 cups of non starchy veggies and 2 Protein Shakes and all the Water I want and second week all liquids, I just started last Monday to get acquainted with it and I'm doing good but this week I gave no choice but to follow it to the T I'm 16 days away from my sleeve

Sound great. I have Canada included in my plan. Now as far as posting on Fb about my surgery won't happen because no one knows about it. I'm keeping that part of my lufe a secret until I'm ready to reveal myself
