How much do your fills cost?
I have Kaiser in Georgia. They cover no fills or any kind of weight loss surgery (or meds) Thankfully I was able to get my surgery before I got on Kaiser. I am therefore self pay and I pay 149 per fill. This includes the doctor visit and the procedure. No fluro done here either.

4th fill and can keep no liquids down after 24 hrs.
Went and saw my Dr today. He thinks the reason that I got so tight was because I was overfilled before my fill. I had started with 6 cc's back in nov 09, and last friday I had 5.5cc's in there. He said that is normal. He put 1.5 cc's in there today which brought me back up to 5 cc's. I have an appt in 2 wks with the nutritionist and in 4 weeks with the Dr again to see how I'm doing and If I need another fill.

4th fill and can keep no liquids down after 24 hrs.
So, I spent 6 hrs at the ER, the oncall dr for my facility was stuck at home. I ended up meeting him at 10am (was supposed to meet at 815) this am. He took out 3 cc's. Instant relief. Came home and slept 4 hrs (oh and ate a bowl of grits). I confirmed with him first and he said I can eat whatever I want since I've been through this ordeal. LOL. So I just had some cottage cheese and the small portion filled me up.

4th fill and can keep no liquids down after 24 hrs.
I called my Dr. He is out of town in Washington DC. He told me to go to the ER and they will call one of his partners to come up there and unfill me a little bit. I hate doing this. Just waiting on my boyfriend to come home so he can take me since I don't feel comfortable driving myself.

4th fill and can keep no liquids down after 24 hrs.
I got my 4th fill yesterday. I was banded in June of 09 and my last fill was in November of 09. I have a Lapband and went from 6 cc's to 7 cc's. I can now keep no fluids down. Everything I have drank be it room temperature, cold or hot has come back up about 30 min later. Is this normal or should I call my Dr?

how many cc's on first fill
My surgery was on June 25th 2009, I had my first fill on August 2nd and they put 3 cc in my 10cc band. 2nd fill was on sept 5th, 2 more cc's so 5 cc's total. Some difference on how much I eat. Going for another fill on Oct 14th. Hopefully all will continue to go well.

My dr told me to take it easy today with liquids only and tomorrow I can start mushies/soft foods for a day and by Friday I'll be back on regular food.

Port question
I was banded on 6/25. My port is on my right side about a hand width away from my sternum. The first week I slept sitting up then started sleeping sort of on my side laying down. I had been sleeping on my stomach for about a week now. Now for the question. Today it hurts if I lay down its not a sharp pain more of a dull ache and almost a pulling (yes i know its sewn into my muscle). Its gotten so its actually uncomfortable to lay down. Could this be a port that is trying to flip? Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks.

questions
Thanks. Yeah, I'm not married. My roommate has babied me beyond belief. He's my best friend and has taken such good care of me, from going to all my pre op appts and all my post op appts thus far. Not to mention taking care of me the last 2 1/2 weeks since surgery.

questions
I called my surgeon. He was not as concerned about the low grade fever as he was about the dehydration and migraine. Went to ER a bag of fluids later and a shot for the migraine and nausea I'm feeling much better. Stopped on way home so I could get some gatoraide. Thanks for the replies.

questions
I'm 2 1/2 weeks post op. Friday I went to my PCP for a sinus infection and started on antibiotics. Since Friday I have had a migraine. I'm still getting my protein in but not my fluids. Today I had low grade fever 99.9 and am just feeling really run down. I'm trying to force fluids but because of migraine I have no appetite. I don't know if this is from the sinus infection or if I'm getting dehydrated. I hate to bother my surgeon's office for something non band related but I don't know what to do.

Diarrhea
My diarrhea started the day before my surgery (when I started clear liquids) and continued for the first week after. I kept thinking liquid in liquid out. I still drink Welch's fruit juice (its sugar free minus the natural sugars) and I still have to water it down. I was banded on 6/25. Good luck to you.

ok... getting scared....
Good luck. I am 2 days out and just remember to walk. I've had one issue with gas in my shoulder. Was painful. GasX strips are not to bad. I just feel like I have done several hundred sit ups. I expected the pain to be so much worse. As for nerves. I almost canceled my surgery the morning of. For me, Thursday was the first day of the rest of my life.

Have finally joined the banded
I got banded yesterday (Thursday). Pain is not so bad. Just a general aching. Has anyone else had diarrhea? Its horrible. I know they say liquid in/ liquid out but geez. Have had it since I started the clear liquids the day before surgery.

Nerves
So surgery is tomorrow (6/25) for me. I am really nervous. Doesn't help that when I went for pre-op Friday they "forgot" to do the blood gas test so I had to go back yesterday. 5 sticks and a still numb thumb later they finally got it. They tried both wrists (one twice) and the bends of both elbows. The first one she got all nerves so if I move the wrong way the nerves start to sharply tingle all the way down my arm. Not a fun experience. I'm treating myself to a massage this morning to try and get relaxed somwhat, then gonna come home and finish laundry and last minute cleaning. By this time tomorrow I should be on my way in to the Operating room and on my way to banderland. Good luck to everyone having their band today and tomorrow. Lets work this together to making ourselves healthier.

Pre-Op At Hospital Today
I had my preop today too... Almost home after an hour drive each way and they tell me oh we forgot to do your arterial blood gas. Can you come back Monday or Tues? Needless to say I'm going back Tuesday after I get off work. Surgery is at 730 am on Thursday the 25th. I'm excited and nervous at same time.

Anyone NOT required to do a pre-op diet?
My 2 week preop is 2 protien shakes a day and sugar free jello, SF pudding, unsweetened apple sauce, low fat cottage cheese and 2 times a day I can have 1 cup of cream soup strained.... Today is day 1 and I'm not liking this so much. I know its for a good cause. Just nervous. Have headache from not eating either. I'm also being banded on June 25th.

CPAP question
I'm scheduled for surgery in 16 days on June 25th. Friday night while I was sleeping I apparently ripped my CPAP mask off my face. I now have a hole in the mask thanks to my lovely fingernails (which have since been cut really short). I drove 2 hrs today to get a new mask and they gave me the wrong size. My dr wants me to be on the CPAP for 3 weeks prior. I'm gonna be a week with out since it will be Friday before I can make the 2 hr drive again. How imperative is it to be on the CPAP for 3 weeks? I've already gotten the time approved from work and that is near to impossible to do. I can't reschedule this. I have already sent the rep at the CPAP company an email asking him to assist me and possibly ship me one to my house. I'm so stressed now. :grouphug::cursing:

did you request your info card from Lap Band?
Where can you get this from? My dr's office doesn't do it that I know of. I'm scheduled to be banded on June 25th. Thanks in advance.

Protein Help
My dr's office requires my preop for 2 weeks prior all liquids. I am allowed 2 protein shakes a day and they want them to have 30 grams of protein and no more than 7 grams of carbs per serving. Can anyone help with this? Thanks.
