  1. Hi there, I too are in the same boat as you. I had a lapband fitted in 2006 and was 98kgs at that stage and lost weight to 72kgs then for reasons I cant really answer as I was at my prime and feeling really really great and loving my new weight. I will say that I was really strict on no sweets etc and ate very well healthy but no much ashad small meals. Any how I guess it came to a stage that my husband and a freind (who is a solo mum) we all were cycling and then our girls decided that they wonted to start dancning so I gave up that day of the week to cycle so that I could take these girls to dancing. This was the beginning again to me being the one to make sure that everyone was able todothere thing. So over the pas 2 and half years I have put weight on and are back up to 95kg !! So i are back to the start. I feel so guilty as I was a self pay and feel guilty that i have wasted our money. I lost my Dad as well 4yrs ago and Dad was the first person close to me to pass. I have struggled with my weight and have no got to the stage where I just dont know how I did it before. I can eat alot and have a very very sweet tooth which is my downfall. I have a 9ccc band and have 8cc in there at the moment, I are wonering if i have streatched the ouch so much that it no longer works for me. My doc here where I got it from is not really that helpfull and I have had to google info on net to try to get answers and find some form of help. I have also in the past 1yr been to doc and he has put me on depression tablets and I have had about 3 different lots and I still are not sure that they are helping... well they may be but I just wont to have my head back to normal ( well hoe I felt when i was at my happy time with my weight) i jsut cant seem to stay in that mind frame - some days i can be really good then bang! some thing or for wome reason i are back to feeling really sad and depressed and i fight it to get out of it but really its so strong it wears me out. :cursing:Oh i sound like a right blimmon sad lady... but i have really always been the positive one in life and everyone thinks that " Oh how do you always stay positive ..... etc) gee if they only new. So I are at the stage that I really just dont know what to do or how to start over and get that feeling of greatness and positive back in my life and no more of this headachs and being tied all the time and being grumpy and self pitty etc.............. ;0(

  2. Hello, wow!! your message to dancin from alexandra, that was so very interesting to me and so sounds true as to how i feel at this stage of my banding. i was banded 4 years ago and i will admit that i can eat more and yet when i do think about it - yes i are by passing that fill feeling, oh i are so gald i just read your response. thanks

  3. Hello again everyone, I have twice come back on to this site and once I replied with this huge story and blimmin deleted it by accident! lol any how i did go back to the doctors/nurse actually as she can fill my band. So what we decided to do was remove the whole lot and leave it out and start over. I went in knowing that I had 9 mils which is what my form at the doctors said as well and so we removed it all and it was 6mils?? don’t know what went wrong there but anyhow so after realising that I never actually had in what we thought I had, we decided to put back in 8 mils and I left there and went to work and couldn’t even hold any Water down. So I carried on as to think well… lets give it the day to see if it comes right. It never did so the next day I went back to the nurse and we spoke about this and decided to remove 1 mil which left me with 7mils. Well I tried again to drink in the surgery before I left and yes it went down ok. Off to work again and by the time I got there, up comes the water that I had at the doctors. Oh blimmin hell I thought… I kept trying over the day but it never got any better so again back to the doctors and she felt for what ever reason this has happened then since I cant hold any water done, she decided to take out 1 mil so I are actually back to 6mil which is where I was at the start. I can actually eat most food again so I are back to where I started and may have to phone her to go get maybe half a mill back in?? I are also working on my frame of mind as this has been a personal fault of mine, I are very positive that with time again I will get through this, it is trying to keep the positiveness with you all the time and not let something crop up and take that away. ( I will be fine as I have decided to try to log on to this site as much as I can and focus from reading about others with similar circumstances). Life is what we make it J J J J

  4. Sorry I can't answer all your questions but are you snacking or eating foods that are easy to go down but high in calories like milkshakes etc? If no, I think you do need to talk to your doctor.

hi - i will be honest and say that yes i have had some biscutes and cake, not milkshakes, and i do feel that i can eat more than what i would have thought that i could will being filled. I have been filled to much befor and was unable to drink Water so i know that it can just shut off when totally filled, yet they say that i have 9mls in but i still can eat so i will actually go see the doctor and have a talk and will post what he has to say on site. i will say that i have gotten rather lazy in the past year as well and turned to food when been stressed as well and that is the old me comming back. I do feel that it has a lot to do with the state of mind. so a kick in the butt for me really is what i need :)

  5. My best suggestion would be to go see your surgeon. They can do an upper GI to see if your band is placed OK still.

From what I have read, you are correct that sometimes a total unfill and a bit of time can solve a band slippage, but only your surgeon can tell you if it is slipped, and what you need to do.

This is a great site, glad you found it. Please keep us apprised on what is happening with your band. Best of luck. :)

Thank you, yes i will go see doctor as i do feel that the best option at this stage and yes will keep you informed

  6. Hello everyone, i have never seen this site befor and happened to find it today as i was trying to find answers to a few questions i have. Some one may be able to help me. I have had the band for about 4 years now and had a good weight lose initally. i have actually over the past year had my band filled to max of 9mil and yet i still can eat most food. I do not eat red meat but will eat a bit of fish and chicken, and i can eat this ok at the moment evan at max filling of band. Which is the question that i was trying to find some sort of possible answer to is - has my band slipped ? why i can eat. I found a bit of imformation about slipped bands that maybe i should get all the fill taken out and leave for a couple of weeks and then get it put back in slowley? I may just need to go talk to my doctor and see what he says. I have put on about 10kilos in the recent months so are rather shy to go back to doctor too. Maybe i have over eaten and streatched it?? oh i hope not :)
