  1. Hello Monday Ladies! Don't wanna bug anybody, but just a friendly reminder about the Sac Support Group THIS Saturday, 11:00 - 1:00 at Kaiser Point West. Also, we are going to try and set up the Wii Fit, is there anyone who is brave to demonstrate with me? We are gonna have a blast! There will ALSO be a clothing exchange!!! Christine...you go girl! Incredible NSV's! Your blood pressure, going down, and body regulating! Those are the best measures ... getting back to your healthy body! Onderland, here Christine comes! We WILL celebrate! Hope to see you ladies there on Sat, and get to meet some new friends! Have a great week! P.S. My fill is realllllly working! Donna:redface:
  2. WOW, like night and day! You go Girl!!! Inspire!
  3. Wow, Christine you go woman! Even a new pic! How big that smile will be in another 10 - 50 lbs, Wow! Congrats Reggie, for getting to goal, now for THE date, being expectant soon...also Candi, you never know... could be cancellations! Hi Riley how are ya! sounds like restriction going well. Tina, how feeling, and internet up yet? Nicole, how feeling, you must be healin so well, you out a walking or doing a marathon! Hi Pam, how are you doing? I am both encouraged and challenged by how well and good of a support group you all are! Have a blessed rest! :sneaky:
  4. Hi Daisy and welcome! Actually it is open to WLS patients, and not just Kaiser patients. There are bypass patients AND band patients, we actually were a third of the group last month! Please feel welcome to join us, a great place to learn, meet some pretty cool ladies AND of course good support! For all interested...the address is... Point West Medical Offices 1650 Response Road Sacramento, CA 95815 You can enter either of the front doors, and walk towards the center and back hallway, there is usually a sign for the room we are in! Just wanted to update you all, so hopefully it will help plan ahead...the next group will be April 25th, 2009, a Saturday (it is usually the 4th Sat of ea month) from 11:00 AM to about 1:00 PM. Angel, one of the leaders who is very inviting, said she would give time for the banders to meet separately at the end of the meeting. Hope to see you all there!
  5. Hi Tina, So thankful you are well, and getting the msg to us w/o internet! A determined woman, alright! Rest well tonite! Look forward to meeting you...Donna
  6. Candi woman! We looking for you! Guess where...on YIM...hehe it is Yahoo Instant Messenger, we saw you but and tried to chat but no go. You may have to download it. We are still chatting now, at 8:10. Tina? How did it go, waiting to here how you are feeling? If any of u lovely ladies are around, msg us (Christine - Swish) or myself, so we can... get together...yea, yea, yea!
  7. Hey Christine, I feel so relieved for you!!! It does feel so good to get out that gas! (Sorry to be so crude) but it goes with the band, and I believe causing our tummies to work better! Just like from the Support group, listening to those 'soft signs' from the body, I am glad to be learning them all over again! Glad it is helping! Another trick of the trade, when the time comes is, I heard Pineapple juice helps to break down things (food) with its enzymes. So glad to be in this 'Band of Sisters' together with you all! So Nicole, I have been asking bout u, soooo glad your bleeding has stopped! How is the incision looking now? Just something to keep in mind, when getting a fill, i.e. close to your sweet spot, you prob want to schedule them in the beginning of the week, just in case too tight, again, tough to get banded help through the weekend. Tina, so excited for you, and a prayer is going up for you, steady surgeon hands, clean liver, no complications and a smooth recovery, remember to water, walk and west! (rest) Candy woman, what kind of work do you do? What a shame how others regard a healthy surgery to help us with better health as cheating. I share my story with different people to help educate others about our procedure, and how there is good help to change the course of our lives. I am esp. blessed that young mamas can do this AND have more healthy babies, without risking their (and baby's) lives! Riley, how is the restriction? Mine is working real well, and working on the body soft signs with this one, 'before' I am even starting to feel full! Have a blessed rest Ladies!
  8. Good Sat Morn, 'Rich'mond Ladies! Hope this beautiful Sat finds everyone doing well, Christine, sounds like you are bouncing back! Nicole, so glad it is slowing down, pls. just watch yourself carefully! Tina, I will be praying for you before Monday, I know the excitement and concerns can just drive u batty! I think a big part for me was...is this really gonna happen? It's TIME to make that change, and am so glad I did! Riley woman, how are you and how is the fill workin? I hope Candi (msg me when u on!) and Reggie are doing well also. Just thought I would come in and report my 3rd fill, yesterday in SSFran...I am at 6cc's! Well, don't know if this is the sweet spot yet...but, I could NOT do eggs this morn! I HAD to revert to a shake (my doc says ok for after fill), so I am a tight mama this morn! :crying: Thank you for inviting me to your group, am so glad to share this journey with such beautiful, supportive and hard working to get healthy women! Planning on a good walk this morn in some fresh air, and ready to be back on trackin it! Hope everyone has a pain free and blessed Easter!
  9. WOW!!! You go Christine! Sounds like you are doing well and a walkin! Are you doing the breather thing too? Found that the more I did, the more it helped to clear the lungs. So you are now an official Sister of Surgery! (SOS, do you like the acronym? hehe) What a great group it is here, thank you to Nicole, Reggie and all for the gracious welcome! Hey Riley woman! I just can't wait to meet you all in person. Already have been blessed to meet some at the Sac Support Group. It is really helpful to share this journey with ladies both online and tangibly, to know that THE difference in our life is finally happening and that the unending support is continual! Just in case some don't know why I connected up thru Kaiser, I was banded Dec. 10th, 2008 in SSFran by Dr. R. Alami, (there are a few other ladies in LBTalk that have also had him as Dr.) am going for my 3rd fill this Friday and really starting to feel restriction. My highest weight was 237, orientation 230, surgery 213 (or so) and now 193. My weight loss is a lil slower, which is why I chose the band, I believe mentally & emotionally I need the time to 'adjust' with each pound lost. The really good news is that I was under 200 lbs. (have NOT seen that in over 6-7 years!), was down 2.5 medications and wearing 2-3 sizes smaller in just 2 weeks after surgery! The energy and health benefits are alone some of the best rewards for doing this...to be able to better live and experience life. Now am ready to move on to the next level of losing and taking better care of myself. (Sorry for the rambling, you all are just an incredible group to get real and be a part of this Sisters of Surgery time!) Hope I didn't bore you, it is so cool to read the before stories, the journey for each of you, how the support is there thru up and downs of appts, setbacks and surgeries, and the continuing Ladies of Losers (LOL...lol!) that we all are! Have a blessed day and I toast my Water thermos to you all!
  10. Hi Nicole! Thank you for the invite, was hoping to get one! Such a great group, I even want to meet Liz someday, hehe. I would enjoy meeting up with you all. I am planning on visiting Christine this week, hopefully! Hope you can make this month's meeting, we are going to bring the Wii Fit and demonstrate! Have you tried it? Going to email meandmyweightloss, Candi, she was at the last meeting, to make sure she comes over to this forum. So you are just north of me, up 70. Isn't the weather great today?! Well, chat soon! Thanks again! Donna
  11. Hi Nicole! This is Donna (roseyyyd1) from the Sac Support. Thanks for your reply email, sounds like you are doing incredible! Thanks for posting Christine is out, and doing well, she has been in my thoughts this morn, also. I knew this would be the place to find out about her, you all have such an incredible support group, this is my first time posting here (Christine said come on over). I was just banded in Dec and 3rd fill will be this week!!! I am excited because, I just know that I am gonna have even more restriction, really felt a difference with this last one. So glad to see Riley doing so well also, we met awhile back, think we have a fill the same day, so I will wave when I go by!! hehehe Have a blessed day yall!
  12. Welcome Scooby-Doo! How exciting for you! How long has the journey been with looking into it to your surgery date? A few here go thru Kaiser, but the support group in Sac (off of Bus 80, across from Arden) is held at a Kaiser facility and open to all. You are welcome to come! Post questions here, or join the chat room at any time, some real support there.
  13. Hi ladies, and guys who ck in... Just wanted to update you on the Sac Support Group with Kaiser. If you scroll back a few posts, location and info are there. But just wanted to update you all, so hopefully it will help plan ahead...the next group will be March 28th, 2009, a Saturday (it is usually the 4th Sat of ea month) from 11:00 AM to about 1:00 PM. Angel, one of the leaders who is very inviting, said she would give time for the banders to meet separately at the end of the meeting. Hope to see you all there! It was great meeting swishbc, momcof3, also Nanci and a few other ladies. We had a great time meeting in person, comparing stories (from veteran banders to newbies to pre-ops) and enjoying a tangible support from each person! Hope anyone can make it to the next group! Any info needed please just post here. Have a blessed day!
  14. Hi Meandmy...great name! There are a couple of ladies here who have gone thru Richmond, that will respond. But, if you are in the area, This sat @ 11:00, Kaiser Point West, off of Arden & 80, there is a support group for Kaiser Bariatric Patients, both bypass and band. There are a few of us gathering there, and then doing coffee/tea afterwards. You are more than invited to come, I have been going off & on since spring of last year (banded in Dec) and have gleaned so much from the information, support and other patients! It helps pass the Kaiser wait time in a very helpful weigh! We'll also share some book titles too. Hope you can make it!
  15. Hi Pam! I will working on getting there a little earlier, to save some seats (although usually enough room). For all interested...the address is... Point West Medical Offices 1650 Response Road Sacramento, CA 95815 You can enter either of the front doors, and walk towards the center and back hallway, there is usually a sign for the room we are in! See ya soon!
  16. Hi ladies (I believe the last few who posted all are)! Sorry, it has been awhile since I have posted, although I do lurk, when time allows. I am always encouraged by reading each of your posts! Hope each of you are doing well! For Momcof3, Smilin_Apple, gbunny, serenitystar07, and all who are interested...THIS Saturday, at 11:00, at the Kaiser-Point West, yes the one opposite to Arden Fair, the Bariatric Support group will be meeting. I am planning on going, and hoping to meet any of you there! Perhaps we could get a coffee/tea afterwards also. Please email me if you can make it, so we can arrange to meet. Angel & Patty, the leaders are Bypass Patients, but very open and helpful with banders attending! Also, there is a woman named Gina that attends who is banded and has an inspiring story, that we could talk with. Keep up the good work, you all are a 'local' place on the web, that I enjoy getting inspired from!
  17. Hey Fran...bet you one hot 'biking' mama, weather not quite right here to go, but hopefully I will be ready when it turns spring! Glad to see your post and your progress, 18 lbs gone! Was excited bout regular black pants today, been wearing for awhile...but had to keep pulling them up today...welcome to the BPC! (Baggy Pants Club). How's everyone else doing...Goose, MJenkins, Just a Girl, Morgan, Bucc?! Yes many growlies...go to Post-op on Tuesday...hope to move to next stage...mushies, puree, eggs & mash for Christmas!
  18. Welcome to Bandsterland Jewel! Glad to hear you are doing well. Just curious, did they not give you IV before surgery started? Glad no gas pains (other than normal). Good for you keeping up the walking and all the pre-op lost! Have a good rest.
  19. You Go Goose! I know we have our scales...but when it is the doctor's scale sayin so..makes it more official! They didn't even have a digital this time for me...so at least it did not say... one person at a time, please! LOL Good for you Goose, keep up the good work...when do you move on to the next phase for foods? Have my Post-op w/ surgeon Tues, so will know then. Enjoy your weekend and moving lighter! :huh2:
  20. Hi Jewels! Just wanted to wish you and all Dec Bandsters 2B this week well, steady surgeon hand teams and smooth recoveries! Been reading your posts, and u seem well prepared...but who am I but a December Diamond in the rough...only one week out! Hehe. The support, hints/helps and encouragement on our boards have been great...will be looking for your return! Of course what they have kept typing, Water, Walking and Well Wishes w/ no gas pains!
  21. Yes...Happy Bandiversary...1st Week 'Out" W2T, Congrats!!! I am ecstatic to report for duty with these reports... Down 12 lbs and am in Onederland!!! (Have not seen in YEARS) PCP visit yesterday...taken off BSugar Med, Cholesterol Med and now can half BP Med! No more $100. Prescription Bills! Feeling pretty good, walking 25+ min a day, working on getting in all nutrients, got a Mega vitamin powder to add to shakes! Ok...now the challenges...dealing with the itchiness, Doc told me cocoa butter or benadryl cream, making sure to get all water in, and preparing for hubby's work Christmas party on Sunday nite! Thank you to all the Bandsters this month, I really appreciate our (W2T) comradeship to walk thru each step together, comparing notes, getting hints/helps and someone to explain our pain!
  22. Hi all, thanks Goose for starting this thread. Brave LADIES... Bethm, bellydance, whoo! I am walking outside and treadmill, now am challenged to pull out a DVD and the Wii Fit, which I enjoy, and lookin at My Fitness Coach OR Jillian Micheals for the Wii for a reward! Also going to have a friend do measurements for me so I can record what is going to be lost! Have a great day of movement!
  23. Hey there, ho there week 2 team (W2T) hehe, and all Dec bandsters! Decided to not lurk as much and type! I am doing pretty good, still sore at the port site, but the rest of incisions are itching like crazy... which means a healing! Have been dealing with a dry cough, which am taking care of, and yes, Fran, a case of the growlies tooo! Funny what a one/woman/man(for u Pete & Mike)/band our bodies become after this surgery. LOL So last nite, got a bad case of the chills in the middle of the night, DH got my Mink blanket and covered me, but boy that was strange. Anyone else experience that? Found a great shake style Mega Vitamin at GNC, so add that to my shakes for Protein and Vitamins! Also, at our local GNC, they had Isopures for $1.17 on clearance, cause they expire in Jan. What a deal! Ok, finished ranting, hope our W2T are all doing well, haven't heard from, Mjenkins, Morgan, MaeMae, and a few others, hope all is well!
  24. Week 3Team o' December Bandsters 2B...your up! We are all rootin for ya, for steady hand surgeon teams, no complications, minimal gas and pain. Pete is right on with walk walk walk! Ask as many questions as you need to, of course in here, but with your doctors and nurses. We will be awaitin your return & reports! We pray the Lord cover each of you thru surgery!
  25. Good Thursday evenin...fellow bandsters! Wow, does it feel good to say that! Just before I left the hosp, I said to my surgeon, I can't believe there is a band in there! So he pulled up a mobile pc system and showed me my x-rays right on the lap top! It went reallllly well, by the Grace of God and many prayers... some pain round the port, was a little in the neck (pain n the neck, hehehe). Here's to hopin that each of the week 2 newly banded and the troop who will be banded on the 12th, have whole, quick recoveries, with a steady surgeons' hands! Have taken some liquid pain reliever, so getting sleepy, look forward to feeling better already and chatting with you all tomorrow! Go FSTOP, Go Just A GIRL, GO GooseFRABA, Go Kerry, Go MJenkins, and all the new bandsterees! Woohoo! Here's to healthy new life beginnings!
