  1. woohoo!! Congratulations!
  2. My mom said the same thing, she told me i could do it on my own. I kept telling her I could not and would not lose 110lbs on my own. I finally had to be blunt with her and tell her to get over it because i was doing the surgery. She has been supportive now. Don't let anyone else tell you what to do. You know what you have to do and if that is surgery as a tool to help you lose the weight then go for it. We are all very supportive so if you feel like you do not have a good support system then just come here to this forum. We will support you!!!!
  3. i think you are doing spectacular and are so inspirational. Congratulations to you on your weight loss journey and going ahead to pursue your dreams! You are a weight loss hero in my eyes!!!! By the way, i noticed awhile ago you changed your profile picture, and you look fantastic!!!!
  4. Way to go on losing 32lbs! Sounds good to me. I know your frustration though. I am 4.5 months out and have lost almost 60lbs but I have been "stuck" at 172 for about 2 weeks. UGH! I have had a couple stalls here and there but none that lasted this long. It is aggravating but as everyone always says, stick with the plan and your stall will come to an end and you will lose more weight. Congratulations on your weight loss journey so far!

    Super Nervous

First of all congrats on taking the first step to a new and improved you! Those feelings are all normal to have prior to surgery. Just focus on all of the positive changes the surgery will have on your body and life! I was not nervous, instead I was very excited to get the journey started! Bring something from home that gives you comfort such as a favorite blanket, stuffed animal, small pillow etc. Good luck to you!
  6. No worries, let's agree to move on 😉 Nothing but love and support here
  7. Welcome to our group! Good luck with your surgery and journey towards a better you!!!
  8. No need for attitude NewtoThis, this is not a forum for attitude. I was merely stating what my major airline did/did not do, and i worked there for 30+ years as an agent. I just didnt want this post op patient to be surprised when they board the plane. I agree with you, better to check the bags and then no worries about lifting.
  9. i used to work for an airline and neither agents nor flight attendants will lift your bag into the overhead bin. Its not that they don't want to, but that they have sustained too many injuries by doing so. They will probably offer to check your carry on bag in at the gate prior to boarding without charging you, then you will not have to worry about lifting your bag. Also, not all airports have a cart service, but they will definately have wheelchair service if you need it.
  10. Congrats on going to rehab and continuing your weight loss journey.💗
  11. i agree.....TMI....my area down there is easier for Mr. to get to1 🤣

  13. ugh that is so frustrating. Keep moving in a positive ( or is it negative) 🤣 direction! As long as you are still losing even though it is slow, you are still losing.

    Black bean burgers

My dietician said baby food is for babies. It does not have the same nutritional content an adult needs. You can puree chicken breast by adding water or chicken broth to it. it actually isnt that bad. I added sugar free bbq sauce to add flavor. Also, just buy a can of no added sugar fruit like pears or peaches and puree them. I also pureed canned green beans and carrots. Everything tastes the same you just have to get over the consistency.

    Rice and noodles

I also agree with everyone above. Leave out the pasta and rice, bread, pita etc and you will have more success on your weight loss journey. All of those are a hard no for me simply because they are not good for us. Plus if you eat them often, your body will crave them.
  19. Keep us updated, I'm sure you are not the only one in this position and i'm sure your comments will help others. Good luck with your bloodwork, i hope you get some answers. Glad to hear he doesnt think it is acanthosis!

    Anyone starting out around 225lbs?

I am 54 years old and 5'1''. My starting weight was 230. I'm currently at 175.9. My surgery was 4 months ago. My goal weight is listed as 140 because that is what my nutritionist said i would likely get to. i would like to get down to 120-130 but i am being realistic and setting the goal for 140 and then we will see what happens!
  21. keep moving forward like you are!!! Everything happens for a reason. If they are treating you like that before surgery, just imagine how they would be after surgery! I think it is a blessing in disguise that they dropped your surgery date!!! Keep fighting for yourself!!!
  22. It takes the stomach 6 months to totally heal. That being said, we dont have a lifting restriction for 6 months but i would definitely check with your surgeon and let him/her know the amount of weight you are lifting a day so they can let you know if you are over doing it at this point in your recovery.

    11 Years Post Surgery

That is amazing! You look great! Thank you for sharing as it gives all of us confidence that we can do this and maintain the weight loss!!! Thank you!
  24. I agree with you!! I am so paranoid about eating too many calories and so i under eat! I am 3.5 months out of sleeve surgery and I think my body is in starvation mode. I'm going to try to up my calories to 600 and see if that breaks my somewhat stall. i was drinking a protein shake at night but i figured its like 160 calories before bed.....not sure if that is good for me. I drink it in the morning now as breakfast. Then i will have no fat cottage cheese or greek yogurt as a snack a couple hours after dinner.
