  1. I know I can eat carbs wish I couldn't! I find myself craving carbs... I'm working on breaking that and hitting Protein hard. I find more Protein I eat the less I want anything else... I'm really liking this!

    To respond on band being moody Yes all the time! Some days are tighter then others the more stress I have the tighter my band is. This is why I'm tryin to learn not to eat around band it really = disaster!

  2. Sorry yes it's birth control... That really honestly is evil. I guess there is a lot going on hormonally and I need to fix it I can't have surgery to remove cysts since I'm not doubled over in pain so the fix is wait have been doing that since July now. But my biggest thing is working and finding ways to work my band again it's almost like I forgot or can't find my groove hence why I need support by people who have a band.

    Side bar I loved my band (still do) but I don't think Merina liked my body or band. I have faith I can get my band to work again I'm just having hard time finding that happy!


  3. Wow it's been a while! In the past Year leading up to my 5th bandaversary I feel like my life has went in to the dumps. I have to admit I've gained weight and that is greatly effecting me. Let me go back to Oct 2012 I decided I was going to get merina (this evil device) and that's when it all started. Yes my life changed and by that I mean my weight my mood my everything. I became a coach potato depressed person. I felt like I was going to bleed to death the first 6 months (sorry TMI). Month 7-8 gained another 20 lbs and then another few So I finally had the thing removed because well I started producing large cysts like grapefruits and well hence my frustration. I've been trying to get it together but well apparently it's not working. I did get a fill actually 2 since... and a slight unfill. Jan 1 I decided I should join the gym and stop being a coach potato and I've been doing pretty good with that but I haven't really lost much maybe 3.3 lbs and gained back 1.8 UGH. I know I need to learn to work this band again and not eat around it but wow it's a challenge I've become dependent on Soup and hot liquid to losen this bad boy up so I can eat =( and well I need to stop it. Last 5 days I've only had hot liquid in AM (coffee) and I've actually been eating Breakfast 1 egg and 2 slices of turkey bacon.

    I need help I need Idea's and support (a buddy... email, text and phone would be awesome and LBT) to get back to losing and working this band.

    on a side note wow LBT has really changed.


  4. If I run in the AM like 30-60 min only because sleep is so important vs eating! Today I had a quick bite from my mix a few minutes before run. coffee is fine if you can handle it all my running buddies drink it before run I don't.because I hate having to go potty so much when I have coffee.< /p>

    Oh I love Nuun been.using for 2 months.and love... Pink lemonade and fruit punch the most I have 6 flavors to including u hydrate flavors. I drink that vs juice and when I want more then jus Water. Let me know how you like it when you get them :0)


  5. Ok so todays long run went well today... 12 miles and no GU or Shot blocks.... I experimented with cranberries, almonds and pretzel mix and it went down great and there was energy still flowing out of my at the end of the hot humbid semi rainy run! Oh and had Nuun in my had held... think im on to a good thing here :0)


  6. Checkyes... Not having an appetite would be.a blessing! Being a Pescatarian is the healthiest per some people. I believe if the shoe fits.wear it :0) because no two people are.alike!

    Oh I found a luna bar that is so delish dipped.chocolate.coconut... Its dreamy and the.coconut isn't overpowering.and vegan!!!

    Rozicakes as I was trying to type keep up the good.work! I.came in last every.5k I did.but I.didn't.give up and moved on to longer distances from one summer to the next just.keep at it.:0)

I also bike and its hard not to be hungry lol!!! averaging between 30-40 miles a week at the lower end, but if I eat like I'm suppose to I can eat even with being 2.5.years out I want to eat like a.ravaging lunatic :0) I think I figured out my problem is sugar... I've been really looking at how much of.it GU has and reading about running to tap into your fat vs using.sugar.for energy!!!.makes me.think a lot you can check.it out on nomeat athlete.com I have started the transition to veg/vegan I mean I keep touring myself trying.to eat meat cuz its so dry and.adding.sugar sauces to get.it.to go.down! Veggies.go down well and so does tofu and.soy so.going to give.it.a.whirl

  9. Jachut, thanks for replaying! I'm mainly just comparing notes with other runners. I think we need ideas to fuel our runs especially when running with a band! Its funny because I have to have both carbs and protien or I'm cranky.

    As far as Gatorade I used to drink but dont anymore I use gels and shot blocks (gummys) and to drink I use nuun with only.6 calories per.serving I can totally drink knowing I'm not drinking all that sugar!

So I have been running for a while and training for my second matathon this year and I always wonder if im eating to much or to little I have about 6 ccs in my ap standard band was having a hard time eating early in the year for first marathon. I was contemplating an unfill but this second marathon training I can actually eat but I don't want to get a fill and be unable to eat unhealthy running 26.2 miles is no joke!!!

    so is anyone else training and how are you eating to support all the.running and cross training thou are doing...

    Also any ideas to be able to lose 20-25 lbs while training would be appreciated.

    Also if your reading this just to read you can run or jog/walk a marathon find a buddy pick a marathon to run and do it.... or take baby steps to get there.


  11. I think your doing fine! It took me till my 8th fill (9 months after banding) to finally really feel what it was to have this band work for me! I think no actually I know I was not patient but then my surgeon kept saying slow and steady wins this race. And I'm a week from being 1 year out and I must tell you that slow and steady does win the race. I did have a lot of depression in my mix with stress, which all factored into my progress. I also had to re-look at what I was consuming not always the best choices when I realized I needed to get it all together (eating, working out and my personal self worth) this all started working for me and I'm loosing. You will fail if you don't believe in yourself!


  12. You will be fine my insurance only requires you to be 18 and have BMI over 40 and your all good. I have same stats as you but I am older then you. I did the same thing over and over lose and gain. I'm having surgery this Friday. Anything is possible. Just don't wait to long to get on the horn and find out what your insurance requirements are.


  13. I'm in the same boat but mine is due to allergy's so I have been trying to get better all week. My surgery is Jan 30th. I am hoping I can still have surgery as well. I see My Doc 27th for last visit with him before surgery. I have waited so long and now this... I hope it works out for the both of us. Keep me posted as to what happens.

  14. OMG that's awesome you and your hubby will be banded I'm sure it makes it easier... I originally thought I would be having it at Alexian Brothers but I guess they didn't have any openings and St. Alexuis did. OMG I went their this Saturday and it's really really really nice and everyone is supper nice. WOW you see him today... Cool. So are you excited? I am and ready to get this done already. Are you going to the meeting on the 7th maybe, we can meet.

  15. Hi so I was finally approved last month found out on Dec 12 and finally got a date this week that January 30th 2009 is the date.

    Was wondering if any others have this date as well? To help support each other threw this journey!

    Happy New Years to all- 2009 is my year to change and be healthier then ever...
