  1. I am excited but nervous... My surgery is set for October 17th..... I have a positive outlook on this but am scared at the same time that I will be in that small percentage that....a) it will malfunction.... :) that I will fail at it just like all the other diets..... But I am keeping my head up..... Looking forward to a new lifestyle and better living.....

  2. I had a breast reduction 5 years ago and went from a DD to a C. I think that I'm in between a C - D now. After lap band surgery, did most of you find that you lost weight in your boobs. I'm hoping that I will lose a little but not much. Any comments are greatly appreciated. I just got approved for lap band and I am patiently waiting for a surgery date... or trying to be patient!! ahhaha

  3. I know what you are going through.... I was denied by UHC the first time, then my doctors office submitted new info and I submitted my appeal. The medical director personally called the surgeons office and asked them for some info and left his cell phone # when they got the answers to call him. It only took 2 days and they finally approved it! What a blessing. I was exhausted and tired of worrying about it. I'm praying for you. It's so hard to sit around and wait on them!!!

  4. My surgeon just spoke to the medical director @ UHC and they said they need an accurate height and weight b/c I have too many listed that are different. I need to gain 5-10 lbs really quick and I don't know what to do.... like before 9am in the morning. Please help and it doesn't need to be obvious..... I live in Texas so I can't wear 3 pants and sweaters.... HELP!!!! Any advice????

  5. I was denied by UHC w/a 38.7 bmi. I have appealed and now have several comorbidities and a 40.3 bmi. What are the chances that they will reverse the appeal? How soon should I start bugging the insurance company after the receive my appeal by fax?

  6. I just got back from the doctor, and I don't have sleep apnea. which is a good thing..... but... UHC denied me w/ 38.7 bmi.... I have since been put on medicine for pitting edema, reflux, and a weak bladder.... and my bmi is at 40.3 now. What are the chances that they will approve the surgery now since my doctor is re-submitting it. I haven't submitted an appeal yet b/c I am waiting on a letter from my PCP explaining the medical necessity.... words of encouragement???

  7. so the sleep apnea test went well... I get the "official" results from the doctor tomorrow. They did tell me that I don't quit breathing but that I toss and turn and move all night long to include coughing. I knew I was tired all the time but they said that I would always wake up before the 4th stage of sleep which is the most important. They said they were "tired" watching me all night b/c I moved so much. Do yall think they will put me on one of these machines or classify this as sleep apnea? I'm wondering what they will do and if insurance can use this as a comorbidity.... Any thoughts?

  8. my insurance will cover it, if.... your bmi is 40+... Babineau said they will not submit an appeal and she acted as if she didn't want to help me. I just needed guidance. They also said if you gain the weight they will not resubmit your papers. Looks as if I need to find a new surgeon. Just don't know who to use around the Longview area.

  9. I was denied by UHC last week. My BMI is 38.7 w/ no comorbidities. The doctor I saw in Tyler, Dr. Babineau, said they cannot help me. I must go to my regualr doctor and "find" some comorbidities. I don't have a doctor b/c I don't complain about things! I have pitting endema, a severe weak bladder, back and knee pains..... none of this documented and no doctor to go to. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions on a new doctor. During my initial consult, the insurance lady said they would fight to get you approved. I was shocked at how she just blew me off and told me they couldn't do anything. HELP!!!!!

  10. I never get sick so I really don't have a primary doctor. Just switched ob/gyn so thats a no good thing too... But I have all my records for the last 10 years showing that I have been over the 200lb mark..... Just at a loss and discouraged!
