Half the time when I eat a meal, when I'm half way through it, my stomach is like "I don't like thos anymore".
I havent started tracking yet. To me it seems hard because If I don't eat all of it, how do I know what the calories are or the Protein? I'm still not getting enough Protein. Or Fluid still.
What is everyone doing at this point of their post op?
I see the dietician April 5th. I'm hoping she can give me some meal options. I want to start meal prepping.
What is everyone's favorite meals at the soft solid stage?
Anybody experience foods that they used to like, no longer like now? There's a lot I don't like now.
I’m just over 4 weeks post op. I’m not tracking either, but I’ve started getting into a rhythm.
Protein Shake for Breakfastlunch (varies - today was some corned beef hash)
protein shake for afternoon snack
dinner (today was like 1/2 a taco)
and I might have a protein-y snack like these protein Cookies by hold da sugar.
my main goal is to get over 60 g of protein and a similar amount in oz of Water. I can’t eat very much at a time but I am getting hungry frequently so I’m trying to listen to my body about that.

Struggling with Protein only because after 2 ounces I am stuffed. My taste hasn't changed so far Everything I tried sits well. Also. I can drink any temperature. So hopeful

I don’t know that I’m really getting a full sensation yet, but possibly that’s due to pacing my liquids? I was discharged on full liquids so I’m just constantly sipping, break for a minute or two, repeat , right now.
I’ve had no trouble with getting liquids or Protein. Right now I’m aiming for Water all the time, 2 Protein Shakes, and a yogurt. Yesterday I also had a miso Soup. Negligent protein but was a nice change. I can have creamy Soups but I don’t really want any rn.

Surgery was 2/27, I’m doing surprisingly well, other than feeling like a human pincushion between the lovenox shots and bruising from hospital sticks.

My liquid goal is 6 - 12 oz per hour, slowly sipping. Getting discharged today! Surgery was yesterday.

2/27 for me! Less than a week to go

Honestly, the couple weeks before my pre-op diet I considered my food Funeral. I don’t think I really ate excessively, but I wanted to eat things I knew would be a long time before I could enjoy again.
im a little over halfway through my 2 week pre-op diet, and while I am hungry, I’m kinda used to it and it doesn’t bother me too much.

Made it through 1 week of pre-op diet. 1 week until surgery!
honestly this has not been so bad, which gives me hope I can manage the post-op ramp up plan well. I haven’t fully avoided caffeine - one of the shakes I drink is a coffee one with caffeine, which I think has helped this not be as bad as it might be.
Down 9 lbs!

I started in August 2022. So really 6 months? From day 1, I wanted surgery after 1/1/23 so I had fresh FSA money for deductibles and oop, so the pacing was based on that.

Doing laundry and putting away clothes I realize I may not ever wear some of these again. It’s a weird feeling.
I have sufficient clothes I think for the first 50 lbs of weight loss, just from prior weight loss. My clothes from when I weighed less are from almost 20 years ago. Maybe they’ll come back in style?

I’m scheduled 2/27. Also have 3 kids, etc. very busy. Day 2 of the pre-op mostly liquid diet. Ugh. But holding on to the fact the results are worth it

I’m pre-op, day 1 of liver shrinking diet. I am on liquids but can have 4 meals (protein and veg) during the 2 weeks

I started in August also. I liked that the speed of the process was largely guided by me. It could’ve gone quicker if I wanted it to.

Don’t stress too much! I don’t measure anything. My actual meals are so tiny I don’t worry about overeating.
look at the scale victories and the non scale things: measurements and clothes fitting etc. if everything is trending the right way, don’t worry too much.
