Hello my SLEEVED family :001_tongue: I am getting a little frustrated. I am 2 weeks and 3 days out and I have not lost any weight. I'm stuck. I go up 1 lb and lose 1 lb. How is this happening when I can hardly eat anything? I don't understand. How can I be stalled so soon? I lost 28lbs in less than 2 weeks. Is that why? I am sooooo mad:cursing: Let me know if this has happened to you. Thanks everyone :sad0:

Hi Charity, I have been wondering how you are doing. I am so happy you are doing great. Now, how is it that you can, at 10 days eat 1/2 a cup of anything? That is insane to me. I can barley have a couple of spoonfulls and I'm so full. WOW ... you are lucky. You feel hunger? I am never hungry. I guess people ARE different. I dont think you are supposed to blend anything until you are in the mushy stage. I think for now you have to just stay on clears. Basically broth and Jello and plenty of water. I am TODAY 2 weeks out and started on mushies. Basically yogurt and mashed potates. I had some mashed potates for lunch and I am stuffed. I only had 4 spoonfulls. I drink water like crazy and suck on ice as well. Try sucking on the ice ... it helps. You need to eat more broth and water so you dont get dehydrated. I am so happy you posted and that you are doing so well. Keep it up Charity

OMG .. I did say banded .. ha ha ha ha:lol0::ohmy: No not banded ... SLEEVED .. man and I'm not even on pain meds ... WOW .. must still be a little tired. :lol0::thumbup1::cursing::mad: Too funny!!!

Thank you for sharing your story. I also was banded last week on the 9th. The more you move, the better you will feel. I am already doing light house work. I tried not to take ANY meds. I kinda toughed it out, but other ppls pain tolerance is difference. I have this one staple in my larger incision that is totally bugging me. It REALLLLLYYYYYYYY hurts. If I turn in a certain direction, it STINGSSSSSSS:cursing: Cant wait to get them out on Monday. I feel wonderful .... I am sure you will be up there with me ... just keep moving :smilielol5:

Ok so I have this question. Sometimes I feel like the top of my stomach "expands" I dont know how to describe it, but it kinda feels like heart burn, but at the same time it feels as if something is trying to come up right between my breast bone. I know that is where the opening of the stomach is, but it kinds hurts when it does that. Does anyone else have that? It only lasts for a couple of seconds, but still ... am wondering that that is?:confused:

Hello Sleeve sisters, Yes it all went well. Everything came out perfect. Had no reaction to the anesthetic or anything. Just a bit sore on my larger incision, but other than that im going wonderfully. Thank you all for your positive vibes. I truly appreciated them. :confused:

Thank you everyone. Now i have a question is it possible to already have lost 30Lbs ???? I was on a liquid diet a week before the surgery and i weighed myself today and im 30Lbs less. I even had my other family members weigh themselves on the same scale to see if it was right and it is. I just cant believe it.

Hello all just wanted to drop a note and let you all know that i am finally sleeved. Yay. . Its the best thing ever and dont regret it. I love my sleeve.

Thank you all so much:001_tt1: I am still freaking out. I too am scared of being put to sleep. That is my biggest fear. Not the surgery itself. I too have only had c-sections. They just called me again to CONFIRM everything and they freaked me out even more asking about an advanced directive and what religion I am, and If I want a priest with me. I was like WTF? It felt like they were reading me my last rights ... AHHHHHHHHHHH:crying::crying::scared0::scared0::confused1::001_unsure: I want to cry. I am a total hypocondriac (SP??)I dont think I will sleep tonight just thinking. I didnt get an endoscopy .. should I have? They only did an EKG and blood work .... :confused1: May all your prayers get to God's ears for me. Thank you all again:crying:

:thumbup: So they just called me from the hospital, and I need to be there at 7:45am. It has now gotten real to me. I am getting really scared now. Do I really want to do this? Will I make it out ALIVE? I'm psyching myself out I think. Ahhhhh I want to yell. I'm scared. All I can think about are my kids. Any words of encouragement will help, I'm sure... AHHhhhhh:scared0:

Feeling a bit better today:thumbup1:. Just 2 more days till my surgery. Still feel a bit stuffed up, and can still feel a little bit of gunk in my throat/lungs. But not nearly as much as before. I have to make myself cough to bring it up, but most of the time its nothing. I think its just habit at this point. I hope it completely goes away by friday. I have been OD'ing on Airborne, Theraflu and any type of tea I can get my hands on. Thanks for the comments BTW. :thumbup:

Thank you all for the info and well wishes. I am happy to report that I am feeling much better today, than I did yesterday. I am still a bit congested, but its coming up (YUCK):glare:!!! And a little stuffed up:crying:. No fever (YAY):lol0:. I am really thinking its allergies as I am getting post nasal drip behind my throat. It is just Tuesday so hopefully it will pass, whatever it is. I am drinking tea and soups and keeping hydrated.:thumbup: Thanks again everyone:biggrin0:

That is what I think it might be. But I am getting chills now. No fever, and it is cold right now. I am in Los Angeles. I went and bought some Theraflu, hoping it will help out. When I went for my pre-op they told me not to take any herbs or anything with asperin in it. Just Tylenol. Lets hope its just allergies. :001_huh:

:001_huh: So after waiting 1 1/2 years to get this done, and being merely 4 days away from my surgery day, I think I am getting sick. I dont feel sick, but have a runny nose. My quick question is, do you think they will cancel my surgery? I hope not!!! :crying:

Hello all! UPDATE: I am finally having Surgery this Friday 10/09/09 w/ Dr. Zane. I too was going in for the Lap band, but have now changed my mind. I am now doing the SLeeve. The Lapband is giving alot of ppl too many complications, and the sleeve is a great alternative and the same results as the bypass. Cant wait .. keep me in your prayers:thumbup:

Welcome Cattster, I am also getting the sleeve in October. But on the 9th .. a few weeks before you. YOu will get alot of information here. THese people are GREAT!

I feel bad because I feel like I took over her post, but it just seemed right up my alley. I have NEVER been like this though. Even though I am over weight, I have NEVER gorged like this. Its not like me at all. Will need to control myself. Dont want to have surgery and be fatter. I didnt even have to make myself throw up .. it came up on its own, now I feel better. Thanks for the comments. I thought I was the only one stuffing myself. I would love to read those books you mentioned .. please post. Thanks again

I havent been Sleeved yet (10/09/09), and I am feeling like that. The difference is that I am stuffing my fat face. EVERYTHING I want I am eating. Like this is the last time I will eat ANYTHING. Its crazy because I'm not even hungry. I hate that I am doing this, but I feel as if I have no control. AHHHHHHHHH :mad0: I need the sleeve now, or I will but my own HUGE stomach. What is wrong with me?:cursing: I think this is my way of grieving. The fact that I will no longer be able to gorge! I stuffed my self right now with Carne asada nachos .. and now I feel like i am about to burst. I feel so stuffed that I want to go make myself upchuck! Its hurting .... did anyone do this before they got sleeved?:001_smile::sad0: This is so frustrating :crying:

Wow Chargers56 you are as paranoid as I am. Cant wait till you get your answers as I am curious about that too. My surgeon told me that as long as I get up and walk ASAP that it wouldnt be a problem :001_smile:

YES!:tongue_smilie:Dont wreck your brain .. you are in!! :001_smile: They really arent even going to ask for your letter. YOu just watch and see. They did the same thing to us, and at the end just took the questioneers and gave then called us and gave us our first class date. DONT WORRY! YOu are in, especially with your co-morbidities .. :sad0:
