I sure hope so. I read somewhere that it can take a few weeks to see weight loss in some cases cuz your body might need time to adjust. Btw do you think sipping something warm will help you feel better?

@Neka87 every POUND counts. Be patient with yourself. Im 5 weeks post surgery THANK GOD im doing well.

Yes sipping on something warm will make you feel better.

I've been doing that since I came home from the hospital & I truly believe that's what helped me GREATLY!

Back from ER. I was concerned bc I had a very right red eye and two swollen ankles and my blood pressure at ER was in the 200’s. I have never had that high. Had ultrasound on both legs and labs, along with chest X-ray. They determined I’m retaining fluids. Thank God no blood clots! Suggested I could wear compression stockings and for me to rest and elevate legs. Gave me a diuretic for 3 days to reduce swelling. The awful looking red eye was not so urgent to them. They said it would go away on its own. Thanks for prayers and positive energy. Have to admit it was scary for a bit.

@Lizrios THANK GOD you are ok. Elevate your legs & get some rest.

@sharonwg thanks....we all are! Just the fact that we made the decision & took the step to gain back our lives & better health. Its a daily process......one decision at a time.

I think perhasharonwgps driving is just inadvisable but obviously, its your choice honey. Perhaps you should have the discussion with your medical team who know you better xx

Rolaware - thanks for the info. I too had no pain and also no gas after surgery. Are you enjoying the results one month on if you don't mind me asking?

@sharonwg no I don't mind at all. I'm always happy to share & help in anyway I can.

YESSSS I am enjoying the results I'm down a total of 26lbs since my liquid diet of 2 weeks prior to surgery and since the surgery. On Monday I go for my 2nd post surgery visit with my surgeon. I'm excited about that. I've been on a soft diet and I must say it has been pleasant....everything that I have tried my body is accepting it. I make a conscious effort to chew EVERYTHING like 30 times before I swallow....I've heard horror stories & I don't want to experience that.

I wait the 30 mins in-between before drinking my liquids. I'm determined to make this work so I'm being intentional with what I do. I also meet a young lady we had surgery the same day by the same Dr & we live about 30 mins from each other so we have developed a nice bond & we check up on each other 2x a week and share tips, struggles, concerns etc

Hi @sharonwg yes my surgery was May 9. It was Excellent! Thank God!!! The only complaint I had was gas after surgery & that lasted about 3 days. I was in the hospital overnight & after my sallow test the next day I was released to go home.

I never experienced any pain at all....thank God. I was sent home with pain medication & gas relief and I never had to use any of them.

Walking truly was the BEST thing to do to get rid of the gas. For the 1st week I walked inside my house & around my backyard.

I am having surgery in 8 days time and am a little concerned about what I am reading. I had planned on driving myself home - about 80 minutes drive. But it seems some people are either not able or being told not to drive? The other thing is work- I am returning to work the day after I am discharged. I could possibly put it off for a couple of days although as I am self employed I need to go.

I was not able/allowed to drive after surgery. Someone had to pick me up or they would not discharge me. I took 6 weeks off from work. My surgery was May 9.

May surgery was May 9th. Thank God I'm doing so well. I'm Grateful 🙏🏾 I've had no issues other than I stalled about 2 weeks ago...but I'm still pressing on. I hope it breaks soon.

I am 7 months post op from my revision from sleeve to MGB and weight loss is at 85.5 pounds after surgery on 11/2022. I was just diagnosed with Follicular Thyroid Cancer and in the works of getting answers as to what the next steps are. My question is I am wondering if anyone has gone through this with weight loss surgery. If life is relatively the same and will losing weight be the same so long as I continue with the gym and my meal plans.

Sorry to hear. I'm praying for you.

Hi guys - I think unread that some of you are on a liquid following your surgery. I will be on a very soft puréed Protein rich diet following surgery (almost watery so it slide through a fork. Im going to spend some of the day making my meals and dividing them up. We also have to include fruit and veg prepared in the same puréed way x

I was put on pureed diet after surgery.....however no fruit or veggie. High Protein is my Dr focus & WATERRRR

I am so fatigued. All I want to do is sleep, but that has been a struggle. I purchased an angled pillow and I’m hoping that helps.

@CarolineLittle I’m having the same issue with the broth and jelly. I’ve honestly stopped those 2 due to just the thought making me nauseated. I’ve been trying different Protein Shakes and that’s somewhat helping, but I’m definitely getting burnt out.

Glad you're trying other shakes. I'm sure it's very frustrating.

  12. Hello everyone my surgery was May 9th everything went wonderful...thanks be to God!
