  1. My dermatologist actually told me that her sister and her friend used my plastic surgeon and were super happy with him. My lap band surgeon knew him and gave him the thumbs up and my friend had a friend who used him and was happy. The tubs and drains really aren't a big deal at all. They sound much worse than they are. THe breast ones usually come out within 48 hours. It's really scary making the decision but I am so happy with it already! Everyone says that breast reduction patients have the most satisfaction out of any plastic surgery patients and they always wonder why they waited so long. I have perky breasts now and fit into regular clothing and bras. I can wear a strapless bra now (after my 6 weeks of having to wear the surgical bra). I could never even dream of that before! Go get a consult, just make sure it is with a reputable surgeon and have them aggressively pursue your insurance covering it. Please let me know if you have more questions Good luck!

  2. Hi Kathy,

I have lost 120 pounds and have been stable for the past 8 months on my weight. I think the big thing is that your weight is stable. If you lose alot of weight after your plastics, it will sag because your skin loses it's elasticity when you lose that much weight. I was told by my primary care doctor to consider a breast reduction because of the sagging extra skin there and I was having issues with splints on my shoulders due to carrying all that extra weight up front. I would go ahead and get a consult with a plastic surgeon with a good reputation that takes your insurance. Take a look at their pictures to make sure that you like their work and try to talk to others to get a feeling if they have a good reputation.

  3. yes, I have huge breasts and I have lost alot of size in them. I was probably in an H before and now can wear a 42DD That's the good part, the bad part is that I lose the fat in them, but not the skin so they are hanging lower. I am going to look at a breast reduction since my insurance will probably cover it, but want to wait until I've lost most of my excess weight so that they won't droop afterwards.

  4. Thanks!!!! I really try to watch what I eat. I log all my food in sparkpeople.com. I eat very little the week after a fill and then as my restriction goes away, I start to eat more. I get fills every month and that works for me. I usually eat coffee and sf creamer for breakfast and some light/ff yogurt. Lunch is cottage cheese, some deli sliced turkey meat and some fruit. Dinner is a lean cuisine or some type of protein and veggies--think fish or chicken. I don't eat sweets and I try to keep it low carb/low fat/high protein. I also work out 3-6 times per week doing at least 30 min of cardio on the elliptical machine and doing strength training on the weights 2-3 times per week. I've lost 68 pounds since the pre-op diet and surgery on December 1st, 2008. Let me know if I can answer any questions and good luck. You're doing great!

  5. Hey! Great to hear from you! I'm down 68 pounds as of today. I'm doing great and feel wonderful! I can't even describe how much this is changing my life. My experience has been great. If I had one recommendation to make, it would be: Don't wait on fills. Get one every month. They really keep me on track. You have to keep me updated! I'm excited for you!

  6. It's going great. I'm actually down almost 40 pounds...

  7. Good luck! You'll do great!

  8. Things are going great. I lost 7 pounds last week. I'm fitting into my smaller clothes. I've also been going to the gym almost every day and eating small portions of healthy food. So far, so good!!

  9. Thanks! I think we lose in the face first too!

  10. Hey Trina! Good luck to you too!

  11. Thanks and good luck!!! I hope everything went well! I have a date of December 1st!!!

  12. Well, I've been approved for surgery from my insurance, and am anxiously awaiting a surgery date. It's taken about 3 months since I saw my doctor and decided to do this. I'm hoping to have a date this week. I keep asking if it's going to be before the end of the year and they keep telling me yes, but I won't believe it until I hear it for sure!! How's it going with you?
