  1. It’s normal to feel swollen after surgery and the IV fluids. If the doctor is not concerned about your BP then it’s probably fine, just change positions slowly when going from lying to standing. There’s a lot of burping the first few weeks as you get used to taking smaller sips of Water and learning not to swallow air. Every office has their own guidelines regarding Constipation, but it is very normal to not have a bowel movement for the first couple of days post op.

  2. It can cause dumping syndrome so it’s a lifelong change. If I am in a situation that its time to eat but really can’t stop drinking 30 min before due to exercising or dehydration then I have a Protein Shake. There’s little evidence for gastric sleeve that you should stop drinking Water 30 min. before a Protein shake so my dietician gave me the ok. I do wait 30 minutes after finishing the shake though to drink something else.

  3. Thank you for everyone’s suggestions. In this instance, I know the why - my first period since my surgery and it’s hit me like a ton of bricks. Specifically I’ve been craving dark chocolate, I found a Calcium supplement called Adora that seemed to satisfy the craving. It’s calcium carbonate so has to be taken with food but tastes JUST like normal dark chocolate with the same texture. It’s kind of expensive but nice for a small treat!
