  1. I had spasms for a few weeks after surgery. I still have them sometimes if I take too big of a drink or eat too fast. I just push through them and slow down. At beginning my doc gave me a med to take for them. As for GERD I had it before surgery. And I don't find mine worse after. But I do know it gets really bad if I eat anything really spicy or fried. Even 1 bite.

  2. Had my surgery on January 16th. I'm just starting the pureed diet. I'm down 16.2 lbs since the surgery but seem to be hitting the stall. Kinda stuck at the 273 mark. I'm walking for 30 minutes a night on the treadmill and I'm consuming very close to 900 calories a day. My major concern at this point is that I haven't really had that stuffed/full feeling. I can't identify at all with not being able to eat and ounce or two. I wish I did. It makes me feel like maybe I was left with a larger sleeve. I will say that I haven't felt very hungry and I do have to remind myself that I should eat something. The one thing that I have to improve upon is my Water intake.

My dietitian said that if we aren't feeling the "full" signal slow down on the meal. No more than 30 min a meal (because then it goes into our drinking time). And to always measure out food out. Don't eat more than the 2oz or 1/4 cup even if you can.

  3. Just a vent. . .

I'm 2 weeks post op today. I had a bad weekend with eating. I think I did ok with Water. But I am 1 wk into puree and did eat a couple slices of deli turkey which I won't be doing again for a couple weeks, because it made my belly upset.

So it was my first event since my surgery. My nieces 16th birthday. My sister had soda, turkey or ham sub sandwiches and chips. I drank water and had 2 slices of deli turkey. I did better than I would of pre-surgery. So that was a NSV. But like I said in first paragraph it did make me very full and uncomfortable. That night my sister ordered pizza. I had some cheese and sauce topping and a couple mozzarella sticks. Again felt like I ate too much. But just relaxed for the rest of the night drinking my water.

I now realize how toxic my family is on food. The stress being around them is hard. But I have learned new things which I feel this whole weightloss self-care journey is all about. Got home and right back to my puree and water. 1 more week then soft foods. Which I think I will do pretty good at. I just miss chewing the most.

  4. So many of you are getting your surgery next week... I am sending positive vibes to you all!!!

Mine is Jan 16th. I just had my required class of final details. Next week is preop appt and start of liquid diet. I also had to change primary physician and therapist... since they left the clinics I was using. So much changing and going on. I just put in my grocery order to pick up Saturday for my liquids and post op liquids. It's becoming more real... I am scared, nervous and excited all at the same time. Scared because of all the horror stories I have read and surgery is scary to begin with. Nervous because I want everything to go well and work for me. I have been struggling with my weight since I hit puberty. And Excited since I am still working on ME and this is what I am doing it for.

Also wishing everyone who is after the first week positive vibes as well!!!

oh how do we join the Whatsapp group???

  5. Mine is January 16th. I am nervous and already started cutting back food to prepare for my liquid diet as I have high anxiety and history of binge eating. So, I am drinking Protein Shakes and Protein Water 2 meals and a snack and then having a small real food meal. It seems to be working so far, even though I haven't seen any results on scale. But I figured dropping 1 meal would be easier than dropping 3-4 meals at the same time.

  6. I am going with the weight of my original goal from when I first started WW.

Back then WW (I think they still do) had a strict number you had to stick to. All according to your sex, height, age and BMI. Which for me was like 125lbs. When I was discussing this with my doctor at the time, she said I would probably look sick and malnourished, due to my body type. So, we went with 150-160lbs. She said when I get there, we can look at the numbers again.

  7. I am new to the website. I just discovered this amazing wealth of knowledge tonight, while googling info on Protein, Jello, Vitamins.

I am curious at how people get those little graphic weight lines at the bottom of their posts?

Also, I tried to search a topic, but it didn't work. Example: put in January and then nothing showed up, yet I found topics with the word January in them, when scrolling.
