Yes! This is the video I was referring to. Thanks for posting it -- I hadn't been able to find it again on YouTube (it's not in my YouTube history because I watched it embedded on this forum). This is great info.

you have no idea how comforting this is for me. I do look much smaller than the scale says I should be (I have a BMI of 22 and keep getting these "you're too thin" comments from family members and even my husband at times). This actually makes it make more sense and helps a lot with some of the dysmorphic feelings I've had.

Thank you so much for posting this! Wow. What a knowledgeable bariatric surgeon. He even said 27-29 for BMI. I really appreciated hearing him explain that ‘ideal weight’ is sometimes just not the goal for us bariatric folks. At a BMI of under 25, I think personally I would look sickly.

I was wearing a size 26 jeans before my surgery but even my size 24 were so loose I had to roll them to keep them on lately. Yesterday I decided to buy a pair of size 20, thinking even if they didn't fit now, they'll fit in a few weeks. Got home and tried them on, they fit with no problem! I haven't been a size 20 in 15 years, I'm absolutely floored.
I also went to the ballet with my family yesterday and not only did I wear a dress from my engagement photoshoot I haven't worn since 2015, but I actually had room instead of being crammed into the tiny theater seats!
  7. Thanks

Another vote in favor of a new doctor. He seems like the type who's going to default to "lose weight" as the answer to anything and you don't want to find yourself six months into fighting him to get him to take some seriously while he's insisting you just need to lose weight to fix your compound fracture.
If you've never seen this video, I found it to be a really great explanation for why the best weight for a bariatric patient will almost never be the "ideal" weight according to the BMI chart:

That's such a good feeling!! Congratulations!
I wore my 26's until they literally fell off me (at home thankfully and not in my class). Hubby grabbed 22's I had in my closet, and I was like, "Those are not going to fit me." Could've passed out when they did and now, I'm in 16's and I'm just waiting for someone to tell me it's a cruel joke and they changed the size on my pants. I don't have to lay down on the bed or suck in my stomach or anything... they just fit. I haven't been this small in 20+ years. It makes me wonder where I'll be when I hit my goal in 40-50 pounds and then again after my mommy makeover. I have an "apron" I can't wait to lose.

SAME. I keep shocking myself feeling bones where I can't remember feeling them before -- yesterday I was adjusting my bra before my workout and I was floored to feel my ribs under my bust! Plus my collarbone, jaw, hips... they're all still well-padded but they're making themselves known!

I put on my first pair of jeans 7 weeks post op to go to Home Depot. They were loose! A few steps into the store and my pants were falling off. A few days later did laundry. Pulled out some leggings. I have knee knows, and mtmy thighs don't touch.

I'm in mourning. Had to throw away my favorite pair of leggings this morning. They got retired to the "only wear around the house and not to the gym" pile a few months ago when they threatened to fall down during weightlifting. (I'm okay with everyone in the class see me fall on my @$$, not them seeing my @$$.)
But today I put them on and the waistband wasn't even touching me and I was like... even if I just walk slowly downstairs, my family is gonna get a show. So in the trash they went. 😭
I can't even just buy them in a new size; the company stopped making them years ago.
